The Spanish are doing a great job of marking Balotelli...very little space for him.
That's a pretty obvious tactical change based on the Italian play in the last few games. Mark Mario tightly and cut off the space for Pirlo.One of the annoucers says that Spain has let up... I think they've purposefully done so in order to frustrate the Italian side. Let them get a bit more tired and run off their aggression due to being down. Then ramp it up at the very end of the second half, trying to put Italy in a 2-0 hole for half.

Game was very good until Italy went down to ten men. Shame, might have been a great second half.
True. That said, I think Spain came out with the idea of putting to rest the whole "Spain is boring" angle today. It was great to see the energy they had today.
Totally agree. Instead of playing keep away with the intent of doing nothing but keep away, they actually moved forward with some real urgency to their game. Very nice to see.
