So if when the lines are not visible and the referee calls the game, what is the result?
I don't know the official ruling, my understanding has always been that if the game gets called off in the second half, the result is final. If called off in the first half, the game is replayed.I do not know if these are FIFA/CONCACAF official. Would love to know the real answer...

Theoretically the referee could stop the game, have the field plowed, and then continue I believe. They've got a lot of flexibility.

Costa Rican officials are busy breeding mosquitos for the rematch I bet. With all the ridiculous conditions we regularly face on the road, I'm loving this :) -QG
I know we like to act that this is some sort of inherent advantage, but it's not like US players are regularly playing in these kind of conditions. Most of the US players are European-based anyway....I'd imagine they're much more attuned to playing in chilly weather, but this weather is a nightmare for everyone, IMO.
It is a nightmare. Our true advantage is cold, not snowy. I think 6 or 7 CR players play in Scandinavia.

The US is much better at build-up play, completing far more passes, but just can't complete passes into the box. Some of the crosses have been shocking actually.

Maybe it's just the bald head, but Michael Bradley has been invisible.Jones seems to be everywhere -- having a great match so far IMO.

Jones is the one getting forward while Bradley is hanging back. I'd like to see it the other way around but Bradley is just better at both so whatever.

Twellman and Darke are in the bag. Looked like a flop from Dempsey to me.
Closer to your thinking here, but he didn't look for it either. Got up and stayed in the play
A flop sans embellishment, I guess. I hate to say it, but in a game of this magnitude, in these ridiculous conditions on home soil, I don't mind him flopping to try to get a call. I really do hate that I just typed that, but it's the truth.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing for it in that situation when the defender screws up like that. Just pretend like you dont see the leg and run into it. Mistake by Dempsey IMO not to earn one there.

He went down. I'm not sure what else you want. BTW, it looked like Zusi was fouled in the box right after that too. And of course right after that the ref calls a foul on the US in the CR box while the corner kick was in the air.

There was no contact.

It was close enough that I wouldn't even call it a flop. He either expected contact and; A- got a little, played on. B- didn't get what he thought was coming, played on. It wasn't Cesc-esque....

Is is hard to make any critical judgements here.

I guess the only danger spot is that Oviedo is getting down the wing where neither Zusi or Cam have any speed.

There may not have been. But I don't know how you can say that with 100% certainty from the views they've given us so far.

The very first replay looked pretty clear to me. The second one was way too far away.

Am I the only one that thinks that if they're going to call the game it'll be at the half?

They know what the conditions are and what they're in for now, so you'd think that if they kick off again they'll finish.

Despite the us playing better up and down the pitch, the ticos have gotten some action down the left side. I think the player of the match thus far has been either DMB or Jones.

Agree about the foul on Zusi - that one seemed a clear penalty to me.
