2-0 Mexico.Chicharito within 10 minutes, US gets a nice foothold late in the first half and early second half but gets caught sleeping on a counter midway through the second half and never gets back into it. Kyle Beckerman subs in, and the listless play from the US midfield causes me to fall asleep during the 75th minute. :grad:
This is fairly plausible. It is interesting to note that while we have sucked in Azteca, the games have been close. I think you have to go back 20 years to 1993 where the US lost by more than 1 goal.

#USMNT lineup for #USAvMEX: Guzan; Cameron, Gonzalez, Besler, Beasley; Bradley, Edu; Zusi, Dempsey ©, Gomez; Altidore

Two changes. Edu for Jones and Besler for Goodson.

Hmm, I don't have any real knowledge of this but I wonder if this is one of the first times the US has started a lineup that every player has ties to MLS?

No GermanAmericans, no Cherundolo or Gooch or Torres or Castillo, which is the group that usually breaks the bind to MLS.

Chile with a big 3 points at home over Uruguay. South America is shaping up for 3 teams that will qualify fairly easily (Argie, Colombia and Ecuador), and then have 4 teams fighting for the 4th spot and the 5th spot(playoff against Asia). Uruguay has dropped to 5th place now and if Venezuela hold the lead against Colombia, they will drop to 6th. Even worse the team in 7th(Peru) is just two points behind Uruguay and has a game in hand. Should be an awesome ending to qualifying in South America.
What the setup for the 4th place Concacaf team this cycle?

Playoff against New Zealand.

I really like Bob Ley leading the ESPN soccer crew. You can tell he really, genuinely enjoys the sport.
He has been a friend to the sport since the early 90's. I remember sending him reams of data I had in historical soccer books back in 1992 (long before the internet had everything at a single click) to help him prepare for a broadcast.

Before that. He was the Cosmos PA announcer.

Yeah i think that was one of his very first jobs out of college in the late 70's. I think he is from Jersey if memory served.

can somebody please explain to me why this is blacked out on espn3????oh and maybe a link to where i could watch it elsewhere???
yeah, my cable company isn't one that has a freaking agreement with ESPN, so I have to watch at vipbox.tv which is kind of crappy.what's up with the hour-long pregame show? why? seriously.

If the game is being played on one of the ESPN cable channels, you need special dispensation from your local cable company to watch it online. ESPN has signed several deals with local providers. Not sure who your local provider is but ESPN usually has you log in using the login of your cable provider and then they check the records. You should be able to find a ton of links on firstrowhttp://www.firstrow1.eu/

OPEN WIDE FOR SOME SOCCEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!
The Continental Soccer Association is coming to Springfield! It's all here--fast-kicking, low scoring, and ties? You bet! You'll see all your favorite soccer stars. Like Ariaga! Ariaga II! Bariaga! Aruglia! And Pizzoza! And they'll all be signing autographs! This match will determine once and for all which nation is the greatest on earth: Mexico or Portugal!

soccer is meant to be watched in HD on my 51-inch TV ... not on this POS computer that's probably 12-inches that my company provides.

Crowd looks pumped. What an atmosphere. The USA can only dream about having the backing (and pressure) with a fan base like that. Props to MEX for that.

Now let's get a point in Azteca and put them even further behind the 8 ball.

Crowd at Azteca Stadium booing our National Anthem. Wonderful.

I watched the US/Mexico matchup in 2011 in a bar in Mexico City while there for work. Pretty glad to be home where I'm not afraid to drink the water or open my mouth in public.

I was in Mexico City on a separate occasion in December 2008 and watched De La Hoya get embarrassed. Take that, Mexico!

GO USA!
