***Official Soccer Discussion Thread*** (1 Viewer)

So a couple weeks ago my wife's friends mention they are going to be in England and it happened to work out that they got time and tickets to the United v Swansea game. A little jealous but figuring the game would be meaningless since United would have already wrapped up the title made them going a me not a little easier to take... Plus I dont think they are actually soccer fans.

Anyway, now with all the announcements of SAF retiring and addressing the crowd after the game and the team lifting the trophy I am extremely jealous! :wall:

just had to vent.
Aw, man..
Tell them they better stick through the end of the whole ceremony or they need to sell their tickets (they'd make a fortune).

Espinoza looks really, really good out there. Impressive to see an MLS product showing up like this on the big stage.
Was thinking the same thing. KC has had some awesome players over the last few years. I consider myself a Gus Johnson fan but he just isn't good at this right now. I wonder if they'll stick with this experiment. The color guy is atrocious too.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Switched over to NBCSN to watch Chicago/Philly....did I hear the Chicago fans singing the Tetris "Song A" theme song? If so, that is AWESOME.

When the moment is big enough for the call, you see what Fox is hoping for with Gus.
Not worth it
:lmao:

a header from a corner is a :miracle: according to Gus...and then you have Ian giggling. Quality commentary. Great match though.

I wanted to post about the US's last two games... but I've completely forgotten what the hell happened.

Oh yeah- and Gus Johnson is awful. Mute-worthy awful.

Spanish media is all agog over Neymar possibly coming this summer, and RM's attempts to hijack him with a Ronaldo-esque transfer fee.
He isn't worth that dough. Let them have him.
Just going off Transfermarkt and rumored prices, it looks like Barca could raise nearly the amount needed by selling Sanchez and Villa. You wouldn't make that trade? That gives you Pedro, Tello, Cuenca (?), and Neymar to go along with Messi, and Deulofeu waiting in the wings.

Best case, he and Messi click and Barca hangs 110-115 goals on La Liga again. Worst case, he flops and they can still get a decent price to ship him off to Chelsea or Man City, and keep him away from RM.

I fit didn't affect any other business? Sure. Priority needs to be defense though. Xavi and Iniesta aren't getting any younger (or bigger) either. Is Alfellay coming back this year or does he stay loaned out?

Shouldn't you guys be busy celebrating the club's 22nd La Liga crown? :banned:

Pretty entertaining Barca/Atletico game, given that there's absolutely nothing on the line here.

Seems like Alexis should get a repreive from a yellow given that his celebration t-shirt read "TEAM MAMA."

Newcastle's win today is good news for Arsenal. If Wigan doesn't win against Arsenal Tuesday, Newcastle cinches staying up, and won't have anything to play for in their last game of the season against the Gunners.

Hey Atlético, next time you play either Real or Barça, try not to put the ball into your own net after going up a goal. Let's work on that for the Copa final, OK?

Well, it was kind of a foregone conclusion.

Alright EPL fans, who's going to join QPR (ha!) and Reading in the Championship next year? I'm guessing, and hoping, that Wigan beats Arsenal on Tuesday and Aston Villa next week. Then Spurs return the favor defeating Sunderland and sending them down.

Anyone else?

I really hope Chelsea nick second from City. Then they'll get rid of Rafa after a second place finish and a likely European trophy.

Christo thinks Moyes could do this? Ha!
