Liverpool go up 3-2 after being put down to 10 men when Kolo went off injured in extra time. Three injuries today..oooooof

Henderson seals it at 4-2, but a woeful second half for Liverpool.

Cissokho with a twisted ankle, has to be at least a few weeks.

Allen did in his hammy, who knows...

Kolo..unsure, maybe a groin.

:help:

Bayern draws with Freiburg. :lmao:
Ridiculous. I understand you have the Super Cup on Friday, but you start with Ribery, Robben, Mandzukic and Lahm on the bench?

Granted the squad out there should have won the match. 70-80% possesion might look nice, but 1-0 isn't going to win you many Bundesliga matches.

Roma's site has the Lamela to Spurs transfer listed as complete. It's in a pdf.

This is the Google translation:

The A. S. Rome S.p.A. announces that it has signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur for the FAC outright sale of the rights to the player Erik Lamela in the face of recognition of an amount of 30 million euro. The agreement also provides for the recognition of a variable amount, up to a maximum of 5 million euro for bonuses tied to the achievement of part of the Players and the English Club of certain athletic goals.

So Lamela is official. Sounds good to me. Rumors seem to be crazy in the transfer window but I've also seen the Spurs in on Eriksen.

Spurs site is full of venom for Bale, which I don't understand. Maybe I am jaded from following american sports for so long - but the whole world knows he is being sold to RM, why would they be worried about whether he shows up for training? Fans just need to accept he is moving on imo.

RM needs Bale more than the Spurs need to sell Bale at this point. So, I don't see RM using Bale as an unsettled player as an excuse to drop the price.

From what I've read, I think most people are upset now because he was doing things "the right way" until this week. Now he's pulling the prima donna let me go tantrum stuff.

Yeah, I guess if I was in his boots though, I'd be tired of this whole deal already. I think the Spurs are doing the right thing by making sure they actually have replacements signed, and waiting until the deadline to make the deal - but I get where Bale probably is at this point, and it would be hard to simply smile and go on as though nothing was happening.

I am excited for the Spurs future, and wish Bale well at RM, but I don't harbor any ill will with any antics he goes though this week.

If it's true the club is fining him for not training with them, I can understand his attitude.

Am I not supposed to use "the" here? I never know the proper usage of Tottenham Hotspur and Spurs...I'm still learning.

I'd say no "the" on the first one, you think that Spurs are doing the right thing. Second one could go either way, since you're excited for the future. I'm just busting your balls though.

Can't believe I am this into an EPL team...the new NBC deal helps a lot since I can make a point of watching all, or as many as I can, of their games now.

Not a fan of the HP logo on their kits - wish it was at least dark blue.

Our favorite grammar nazi/Spurs fan Smoo would set you straight on this were he still posting. I think this was one of the jokes in the NBC Sudekis video.

The thing is that when the fans blatantly rip off Southampton, they seem to sing "Oh, when THE Spurs go marching in . . ."

But yes, we've all heard that The Spurs only play in San Antonio.

Scary team that may be filthy when they gel. Paulinho and Capoue already look like rocks in the middle of the pitch.

Stick with either "Tottenham" or "Spurs" and you'll be fine.

when i say spurs i'll say The

that's just the way it is (some things will never change)

Spurs talking with Eriksen from Ajax. Something like a £10M offer.
I can't for the life of me figure out why United isn't interested in this guy.
Moyes is too busy trying to bring in his guys from Everton.
They could always make an 11th offer for Cesc!
Paul Pogba's agent was spouting some nonsense today about Pogba being worth two Bales. I'm not sure bales of what, but Pogba would be a good fit for MUFC.

A little bit like saying Xabi Alonso would be a good fit for Liverpool, or Robin van Persie would be a great fit for Arsenal. I realize that there's a new sheriff in town now, but wasn't he reaaaaaaaaaaaaal happy about leaving United, or am I making that up?
