I swear it seems like Levy got ahold of FM 2013 over the summer with all of the transfers.
I had Eriksen for a spell on my Spurs save - decent enough player, at least in the game.
Was reading that Lamela was signed in time to be registered for this weekend's derby. Wonder if he starts, or comes in off the bench.

From what I'm seeing Ilori also, with Shay Given coming over on loan to be the backup keeper. With regard to Ilori, I've honestly never seen him play, but I did see this from a scouting report:
As for Given, lots of fans are poopooing it on the internets. Personally, I think he is a fantastic choice for a backup keeper. He singlehandedly kept Newcastle in the Prem for years.

Arsenal are in no position to challenge for the league, but Wenger keeps nixing CL from Spurs so that gives him some slack.
The year he loses CL is the year Arsenal fans really lash out. Until then the whole thing will probably just bump along.

So I've seen a lot of references to European football being a completely different animal than league play. Is it fundamentally different? The only real difference I can think of is that you're trying to win the tie instead of the game, which means there are more instances of teams parking the bus to protect a lead in a second game, or trying to force a draw on the road/give up as few away goals as possible and getting the second game on your home field.

I don't know if it's "completely different." Obviously there are some subtleties. If Manchester United beats Arsenal 2-1 at Old Trafford in the league, that's an unqualified good result. In Champions League, there would be hand wringing about the away goal conceded.
I think that the experience of being in top European competition, and of having to consistently put out first team squads twice in a week is challenging. Particularly to teams that are not that deep. And I think it's probably a challenge to adapt to transcontinental travel, which makes away games in Eastern Europe and Turkey more challenging.

Someone pointed out on Twitter what a difference a point makes. Arsenal goes to Milan, Dortmund and the Mediterranean coast, while Spurs travel to Dagestan, Moldova, and the Arctic circle.

I finally just found it. Not HD. It is also on my Fox Deportes. Fox isn't putting it o their regular Fox Sports channel (showing a marathon of infomercials), Fox Sports 1(rerun of Utah vs Utah state and then NASCAR practice. PRACTICE?! /Iverson), or Fox Soccer (rerun of 2012 Champions League game).Fox Sports 2 or something like that I do not get

Wenger (and at this point I do believe it's Wenger - there's been some speculation that it's the result of others) is frugal. He likes to develop his own players and add quality players for bargain prices in the transfer market, usually in the 10M-20M GBP range (Cazorla for 17M GBP, Giroud for 10M, Podolski for 10M, all last year, would be an examples of that). Arsenal has a top youth academy, and if you know how to judge players you can build a good team that way, and Wenger has certainly done that. For years, Gooners were told that the money was tied up in the self-funded stadium project, earmarked to pay down debt which they'd had to kickstart by signing long-term, below-market sponsorship deals. People grumbled but have largely accepted that the stadium is an investment in the club's future and it was necessary, and besides Arsenal was continuing to stay in the top four and play good, competitive football and remain in the champion's league - no small feats, but not what the fan base was used to.
Then in the last year the club's made clear that it's got a lot of cash to spend finally. To me this is exposing Wenger as the problem. He's just stubbornly adhering to the idea that the club should build from within, but this year (and in recent years frankly) the league is open for the taking if you put a good team out there, and he's just not grasping the brass ring here. It's maddening.

Getting points in the away leg, especially by scoring goals, and winning outright at home is huge.
You also tend to see very good counter-attacking football by the visiting teams, even among most of the "lesser" CL teams.
Also, the quality of the refereeing can vary greatly and have a big impact on the game, and the perception is that some referees simply have it out for English teams (the English FA has a rocky relationship with UEFA, and the Brits in fairness are a little arrogant about their importance in the game they invented; and also, historical national rivalries inevitably seem to seep into this stuff too).
