Good game I thought. Both teams fought hard. Hats off to Bayern. I'd welcome a rematch. I think both these teams are going to be playing much better in a couple months.

NBCSN had a show on this morning called "Premier League News" - how can I find out who the host was? (the chunky blonde bird)
Rebecca Lowe? I know she hosts their studio show but I don't think I would describe her as chunky.
not her.
Michelle Beadle?
Nope, she was an English bird... I am thinking that it was an Premier League Productions show and maybe not original NBC content? She is not on the NBC site (the two mentioned above are)
It sounds like you're describing Julie Stewart-Binks, but she's on Fox, and I think I'd describe her as "chesty" rather than "chunky."

She was certainly chesty.

Well, it looks like Bale will be officially gone soon. Spurs are done with their signings and the details seem to be narrowing.

As a Spurs fan I'm really sad to see him go, but I'm also sad as an EPL fan. I think he was a fantastic link from the EPL to the American sports fan. As a soccer fan I can appreciate the creativity, the guile, the build-up, the impact of a solid DM, the nuanced styles of different leagues, but I think Bale's skillset was a true connection between US sports fans and soccer. His raw power, speed, and technical ability was truly awesome. His ability to just drive half the length of the field and put in a screamer was incredible and he seemed to more inclined to do it the higher the pressure. Every time he put his head down and started going you knew there was a decent chance at a highlight reel. He just connected with what US fans expect from sports, but it's such a rare ability in soccer.

I hope he can carry that forward to La Liga and I really think that's a lot of what RM was paying for. He is flat out exciting to watch. He will be a marketing bonanza for RM and La Liga. Spurs may be a better team with the financial windfall, but superstars can never really be replaced.

I wish him all the best. He's a class act and deserves his chance.

Jut about every post I've made in the last two months has been from my iphone so sorry about any typos or poor cohesion.

Stewart-binks is US though, not English. I misread the first time.

Sunday is much better this week.

So Bale looks like a done deal now. I'm honestly surprised that it happened this year, but when RM wants a player, and is willing to pay for that player, they usually get them. I kinda like Bale, but I how he and his team fail nonetheless.

I hate Real, but they are going to be ####### fun to watch. Someone early in the thread asked which team is most like the Rams greatest show on turf. It's Real Madrid.

Especially now that Mou isn't coaching them anymore.

Who is this team, and what have they done with Liverpool?

Gerrard is up for it.

Been awhile since I hollered at my TV so early in the morning.

Think I'm going to check out a Spurs bar in Boston. They say they are welcoming of new fans so I figured it would be a good atmosphere to really try and get into the rivalry by checking it out a a bar instead of watching it at home.

Loved the end of that half. Had been thinking Liverpool needed to start working on United to wind them up after they were already frustrated and losing it a bit. That incident with RVP was about five minutes too late. Really think if Liverpool had got in with a hard foul or two around 40 minutes they'd have gotten someone sent off.

Wow... what a great start to the season. Will be interesting to see how Suarez reintegrates to the side.

A goalless draw and a goalless loss to top teams and five points behind the leaders after three games. The knives will be out for Moyes already.

Why isn't Suarz playing? Because he Tysoned someone, right?

P.S. the last few minuets of extra time were chilling to watch, I loved that crowd.

Right... Suarez banned for 10 games for his bite.

Thought the crowd cheering Evra's injury was a little over the top.

Jordan Henderson does nothing for me. Likewise Aspa. Drop Suarez into the side for the latter and things should look much better (though chemistry is a funny thing).

Also have to wonder if Mignolet's heroics in the first two games haven't infused the defensive play with a confidence they lacked before. Liverpool were loose with the ball and gave up a lot of dangerous possession in the second half but didn't surrender too many good chances in spite of it.

:goodposting:

Great start for Liverpool without Suarez, and this is Moyes' nightmare. The PL is wide open right now.

Reports have them set to sign Victor Moses on loan too. He was at the game today.

Even under Mourinho Real scored over 100 goals every season, including the absurd 2011/12 when they scored 121 and set the points record. I believe i read that Mourinho's teams have finished first or second in goals scored in every season he's coached going back to Benfica.

Didn't look too happy about it. We'll see how he fits in.

Perfect start to the season. :excited:

I think Coates had just farted.

Bill Parcells had some teams that can score, but it doesn't mean that his teams were exciting offensive teams to watch. Besides, when you've got the financial firepower that RM has, you'd better be scoring goals.
