My niece just started as a freshman, got heavily recruited. What do you need to know? 

ETA: she went to all camps around 8th grade and forward, played travel leagues, all national camps. Girls can be recruited as juniors I believe, and she got flown to 20-30 colleges around the country. Finally decided as a senior in high school and have a full athletic ride (she also had straight A's through high school, not sure if that played into the full ride).

if you want specific details I can ask my SIL, she managed that whole thing...

That was pretty fun... like watching s video game.

Suite was fantastic. as wss the raping. President of nycfc and sunil gulati spoke to us at halftime (gulati teaches at my alma rapist). I asked gulati about how he felt about jk... gave boiler plate, cant jusge on individual games bs, but program moving foralward.eyc.

Pulisc... see if he keeps getting minutes,  big game vs real madris good test of where he is dor them.

... nycfs and rest of mls trying to get womens teams.

My son's tournament tomorrow. I'm going to try some new shtick on the sideline tomorrow by acting like i scouted each team we play and their players.  We're a few hours from home, so....

"Oh, that kid wearing #8 there scored 3 goals last week for his CYC team. Right footed, averages 1.8 goals per game, but does the same scissor move each time and aims lower right every shot on goal"

"See #27, he's picked up two yellow cards already this season and got tossed last year from this tournament for excessive elbowing. But, he's got a wicked left cross on corners."

"#62 is being heavily recruited to Omaha Heights High School, home of the fighting scorpions. I've heard he can score from 25 yards out with ease."

We'll see if anyone tries to fact check me.

Congrats to your niece. 

Well you answered my first question already. Does it really start in 8th grade? 

Next question was what is an ID camp?  She will be going to showcases so how is that different?

 
Parent next to me: "I didn't get a chance to look and see where these teams are from."

Me: "That's ok, I did.  That kid right there scored three times last week, right footed, averages almost 2 goals per game. But their goalie is weak to his left side and seems to give up most of his goals there".

Parent: "Wow, they have that kind of stuff online about them?"

Me: "Yep."

After our first goal went into the net right side, I wanted to look at him and say "See?", but I didn't.

Yeah, it's crazy how early they start. They didn't go to school games that early (scouts), but they sure checked out the travel teams. 

I don't think there's much difference to be honest, but it is another chance to show what you can do. If she is serious about it, it will not hurt to do it all.

My niece is a goalie too btw, freshman, started the last two games because their senior goalie got a concussion and is 2-0.

Ill be honest, the box was really cool, but still not "great" seats. That stadium blows. Forgot to mention that the question was asked of the nycfc pres about a new stadium... he non-answered the hell out of it.

Next step, pull out the network passing graph. 

Also, be sure to point out what 9 year olds have trouble on their weak foot. 

 
Atlético won 1-0 against Depor today. Two injury subs and a second yellow to a Depor midfielder wasn't a great first half. Thankfully, Grizi finally converted from close range for the win. That's four clean sheets in six games already.

I'm interested to see the lineup on Wednesday for the CL match against Bayern.  Saúl and Savic will certainly play, with Gameiro starting with Grizi up top. Likely to see Carrasco out wide, but Gaitán could certainly be an option.  Should be a good match as there's likely some bad blood between the teams from last season.

cool seeing the pics out on pier 40 with manhattan kickers (just below the nba pick).

no- didn't see them- too busy drinking beer in a box. 

and still dumbfounded sunil not only made an appearance, but hung around to answer questions and chit chat. somebody got a picture of the group that I hope to get- I'm standing right behind him (he's short). I was a little disappointed that the answers were a little boilerplate non-answers... but he's obviously used to speaking to people who aren't reading 8 different threads about the subject daily.

and I mentioned I asked him about how he was feeling about Klinsman... as I asked, I actually started off saying FFA-style "JK" instead of the full name.
