Maybe if you don't bite people multiple times you wouldn't be punished - not sure why he's still whining about this.
The timing is weird.  Since biting Chiellini, he's played for (arguably) the biggest club in the world, won a bunch of trophies, been paid a lot of money, and established himself as perhaps the best #9 in the world, so why bring this up now?  I guess it still weighs heavily on him.  Perhaps he realizes the biting will show up in the first paragraph of any biography of his playing career.

But still, screw FIFA

Do we have to go the Shader thread to talk about Arsene vs. Klopp?

I can easily see this game being 2-1 Arsenal as they look for a statement win to get their second half going. I can also see this being 3-0 Liverpool as Coutinho dominates the abysmal Arsenal Defense.  /Shader

Does MLS still have a salary cap?

This seems like a clear Liverpool win to me, with the supporters immediately believing that they will now win the league.

"The abysmal Arsenal defense" has spread it roots...currently manifesting itself on the Italian Peninsula in the form of one  :deadhorse:

9-8 Pool, IMO

any idea what this is?  It seems too early for SD's massive plan to have received any approval.
Landon has been very active here in the last few months. Not sure how much of this I've mentioned.... He has come to an AO rally, played in the AO pickup game, been at every proposal/press conference thing, has asked on twitter where to play pickup games (he hasn't responded to my invite), and is all over the radio. If I had to guess this announcement will be to give him a formal role in this expansion process. Job/ownership, I don't know.

There is a rally tonight at restaurant/bar with everyone involved to show support for the MLS season opener. Warren Barton has also jumped on twitter to take part in it. Should be pretty cool. ####ty timing for me, so I can't make it.

There has been some push back locally on the MLS proposal. SDSU is now saying that they think they can work out a better deal and want that land to extend their campus. There is also some super rich dude named Doug Manchester who insists on being called Papa Doug (seriously) who now ants the land and says he can build an NLF stadium and lure a team here.

This all sucks because it is muddling the actual real and realistic proposal that FS Invenstors have submitted for the land and MLS. It is just more San Diego being San Diego and not getting anything done save for endless wheel spinning. This city cannot get out of it's own way when it comes to this stuff. The longer something stretches out there more counter proposals and lawsuits come until in the end we are left with nothing. Less than zero even if you can't the Chargers as zero.

**BREAKING** -->  Sturridge may not be available - muscle strain.

So the Landon in San Diego announcement is pretty much you expected.  If you follow Soccer City SD on Facebook you can follow a link to vote on a team name.  There are 50 current choices (Footy McFoot Face!).  I think Mission San Diego is pretty tight.  I also like San Diego Armada (you could add a FC if you really wanted to Euro it up).

Is LD going to be installed as Player/Coach for the inaugural season?

I did not know Red Cards spanned leagues.

Juninho got a red card in his last Liga MX game and FIFA says he must sit out his first game in Chicago.  I guess the Mexican Federation requested this directly to FIFA.

I like it.  I know nothing about the area though.  Is the spike a symbol of the train service down there or does it represent something else?
Weird - it shows up different on my phone than on my laptop - I assume that's why you didn't see this part:

In 1837, a spike was driven into Georgia’s red clay, declaring Central Avenue as Zero Milepost for the most significant transportation endeavor to that point for the South — a railroad from Atlanta to the Midwest.

The birth of a city.

The connection for commerce.

The declaration of what’s to come.

Prior to 1837, other lines went around us and before us.

The people of Atlanta would not wait any longer to pioneer a route to success. Under the hot Atlanta summer sun, Atlanta’s own built the largest railroad hub of the times.

This line would unite cities, propel our city forward.

We became Atlanta. We staked our claim as the hub and the heart of the Southeast.

Zlatan and Mings both charged with violent conduct.  Sounds like Mings could get a longer ban then Ibra.  I guess a head stamp is considered worse then an elbow to the head.

IMO, both should get 3 games.

Zlatan would miss FA Cup vs Chelsea and EPL games with Middlesborough and WBA.  He would be avail for Europa League games.  This is a good opp for him to get some rest and let Rashford run up top.  Add his pace to Martial & Mkhi with Mata, Pogba, Herrera in behind.  As good as Zlatan has been I am excited to see this attack.

Dembele got 6 games for an eye-gouge against Costa.  I would expect something similar for Mings, if the panel believes he acted intentionally.

Could you imagine the uproar if Mings got 6 and Ibra only 3?  Even if Mings gets 4 and Ibra 3.  Justified/Correct or not the amount of vitrol and claims of United bias would be impressive.

What a complete cluster #### in Argentina right now.  The strike now extends 3 divisions deep as the players are sick of rarely getting paid.  It sounds like FIFA and CONMEBOL are trying to administrate this mess, which likely means things are only going to get worse.

If FIFA determines these lack of payments voids contracts, I think we are going to see a group move this summer to the US and Mexico as transfer fees will no longer come into play.
