To make matters worse, Argentina is pretty much half-Italian. This should end well...What a complete cluster #### in Argentina right now. The strike now extends 3 divisions deep as the players are sick of rarely getting paid. It sounds like FIFA and CONMEBOL are trying to administrate this mess, which likely means things are only going to get worse.
If FIFA determines these lack of payments voids contracts, I think we are going to see a group move this summer to the US and Mexico as transfer fees will no longer come into play.
Will there be any impact on Copa play this week? Are the Argentine sides going to strike then too? What a complete cluster #### in Argentina right now. not sure, but I would think those might get affected to. Maybe they will reschedule them for when the strike ends if they get affected. Will there be any impact on Copa play this week? Are the Argentine sides going to strike then too?

Did something change? I thought it was announced last week that NYC bought him out which got him off NY's books entirely and left him up to the league to deal with.Mix nearing a loan move to Sweden.
looks like NYC will be on the hook for most of his salary... but at least get a little relief- better than his slam poetry at nuyorican cafe

Even with a buyout, they were always on the hook for the salary, it just didn't count against the salary cap.Mix nearing a loan move to Sweden.

Might as well show Xhaka a red card. Everyone else is doing itI'm taking requests of what you want me to do at the Emirates
Take a piss. Literally.I'm taking requests of what you want me to do at the Emirates during the tour as well as at Stamford Bridge........
"Xhaka Can", ?!Might as well show Xhaka a red card. Everyone else is doing it
I don't think this is correct. I believe the league is on the hook for the salary, not NYC. Since Mix was not a DP, NYC never paid one penny towards his salary even before the buyout.Even with a buyout, they were always on the hook for the salary, it just didn't count against the salary cap.

http://www.mlssoccer.com/league/official-rules/mls-roster-rules-and-regulationsA club may buy out one player who has a Guaranteed Contract (including a DP's) during the offseason and free up the corresponding budget space. Such a buyout is at the MLS club's expense.
Right, but people have mentioned that the buyout is not the same cost as his salary, and that it is more like a nominal fee. But you could be right in that it matches his salary exactly. This is from the Rules and Reg page on buyouts:

I doubt his buyout was a nominal fee since his salary was fully guaranteed this year, but who the hell knows.Right, but people have mentioned that the buyout is not the same cost as his salary, and that it is more like a nominal fee. But you could be right in that it matches his salary exactly.
They usually don't mention length of contract but in Mix's case do you remember if anyone said how many years he signed for? I wonder if NY had to pay for just this year or for the whole contract (assuming years beyond this season were guaranteed).I doubt his buyout was a nominal fee since his salary was fully guaranteed this year, but who the hell knows.
So SKC has a player that is on the reserves which is both HG (Home Grown) and INTL (International). Would this be someone that is from another country but moved to the States and then joined the academy? Like Derrick Jones, I assume? In another step where MLS is trying to slowly make things more transparent, they have now released roster details for ever team and show how every player is classified.
If you want a good chuckle, look at the Revs roster. It is so embarrassing we can't even fill out a basic squad. :(
http://www.mlssoccer.com/rosters/2017
yes that is how I read it. As players stay in the league and eventually receive green cards, they can the be removed from INTL status. So SKC has a player that is on the reserves which is both HG (Home Grown) and INTL (International). Which WC is that? I'm not familiar with it.he's still only 20... given 5 years of pt (and assuming that he doesn't get picked up by England), he could be a pretty massive guy for the US for the "qatar" WC and beyond.
riyl pulisic.
eta: has he made any noise about wanting to play for the US?
Time to unleash the 4M attack in front of Pogba and Herrera!
Marcus
Martial Marouane Mkhi
Pogba Herrera
Blind Rojo Bailley Valencia
De Gea
I will fight youI'm pretty sure he was on a 3 year guaranteed contract, so this was the last year. My guess is they get allocation money back if there was a transfer fee which I'd assume there would be since he's still on a MLS contract. More than anything though, they wanted the salary cap relief. They usually don't mention length of contract but in Mix's case do you remember if anyone said how many years he signed for? I wonder if NY had to pay for just this year or for the whole contract (assuming years beyond this season were guaranteed).
It also makes me wonder, if Mix does transfer, I wonder if NY gets back the buyout money.....The ultra complicated flow chart only handles incoming players, we need a new leg for outgoing now![]()
I just realized that it's very unlikely I'll get to see Arsene.Might as well show Xhaka a red card. Everyone else is doing it
Stuart James @StuartJamesGNMCould you imagine the uproar if Mings got 6 and Ibra only 3? Even if Mings gets 4 and Ibra 3. Justified/Correct or not the amount of vitrol and claims of United bias would be impressive.
Burritos FTWThis might have been posted - facebook poll of San Diego MLS team name.
I actually like Atletico San Diego, but Footy McFooty Face is going to be tough to beat.
Fish tacos, imo.Burritos FTW
Real Footy McFootFace FCFish tacos, imo.
but I do like SD Mission. makes sense. hell- even the padres make sense. mcfoot is too much a ripoff of that british boat... we can't even do THIS part originally? still have to copy them?
Even really boring nicknames sound cool in Catalan. The Blaugrana sounds a lot cooler than the "Blue and Reds."[francesa] Do the teams not have nicknames? Do they just go by, like, Barcelona? Huh. [/francesa]
saw that. Surprised meStuart James @StuartJamesGNM
Five-match ban for #afcb's Tyrone Mings.
That would be an interesting turn of events.NewlyRetired said:Multiple sources say that the LA Galaxy have recently extended an offer to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one that would bring him to the club this summer and pay him what would easily be the highest salary in MLS history.
Ibrahimovic is 35 years old, but he has been fantastic for Manchester United this season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions. Ibrahimovic’s United contract runs out at the end of this season, so it would be a free transfer, but there’s a possibility he could extend for up to two more seasons with the club.
Watching Manchester United get into a bidding war with LA over Ibrahimovic would be fascinating, and sources say that LA thinks it has a realistic shot of landing him. LA did have discussions with Ibrahimovic last year before he ended up signing with the United, and his manager, Jose Mourinho, is on record recently saying that he sees Ibrahimovic, who scored the winning goals in the Community Shield and League Cup final, remaining at Old Trafford.
really hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to see me some zlat live... but I have a big hunch that he's going to give zero ####s the second he gets off the plane in the US. MU at least gives him some decent and big games to zlat it up. Gals vs Minn in August isn't going to turn his crank, IMO.That would be an interesting turn of events.NewlyRetired said:Multiple sources say that the LA Galaxy have recently extended an offer to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one that would bring him to the club this summer and pay him what would easily be the highest salary in MLS history.

I may go to Galaxy games if he was here. But I agree. And when United gets into CL next season he isn't going anywhere.really hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to see me some zlat live... but I have a big hunch that he's going to give zero ####s the second he gets off the plane in the US. Yes Champions League. Either by top 4 or winning Europa. Got to be positive!wait... CL?
but he's still got a lot of game left- obviously still a game-changer for any team that has him. I'd think he'd stick in england another year at least and then cash it in here.
doesn't the mickey league cup hardware get you auto entry?Yes Champions League. Either by top 4 or winning Europa. Got to be positive!
