It's season ticket season here in Rev land and the Kraft's with their 9th straight year of playing Lucy to the fans base Charlie Brown trying to kick the football

Jonathan Kraft said that he's more optimistic than ever that in 2018 they will secure a piece of land in downtown Boston to build a stadium for the Revs. Robert Kraft reiterated that point
Huge props to you Revs fans for sticking by the team despite this terrible ownership.

WC draw is tomorrow.

I didn't realize how badly the setup screws COMNEBOL and Mexico (versus the UEFA teams), but 4 of the 6 teams are most likely going to end up with tough groups since the 3 UEFA teams in Pot 3 and Serbia (Pot 4) almost assuredly have to get paired with them whereas the UEFA teams in Pot 1 and 2 have decent shots of just having one other UEFA team and then scraps.  I know the draw always matters, but there are going to be a few European clubs with relatively easy paths to the Round of 16.

Screw them, but I got a feeling about Mexico this year

Down goes Rochester :(

Rochester Rhinos, 99 Open Cup winners and 4x league champs, announce 1-year hiatus and say they will remain "in good standing" w/ USL, opening door for possible return if club can close funding gaps

Long proud history there. Hope it works out.

We have all seen and gasped over the Roberto Carlos free kick in France for Brazil that was just sick (distance, power, curve).

This one is from ever further out from when he was still the Brazilian league.  Look at how ####### far he was from goal!

Hristo Stoichkov scored a goal kind of like that from the wing against DC United once upon a time.  I was sighted straight down the line of the kick and it was incredible.  I've looked for it on the Internet to see just how far out it really was (in my memory it was a freakin' mile), but never found it.  Just ran up to it and smashed it into the top corner on the opposite side of the goal.

Interesting they are mandating a European team in each group - technically with 14 you could have had 1 group with no Europe teams.

Atlanta just signed the Cincy keeper, Mitch Hildebrandt, who made a name for himself in the US Open Cup last year.  This is an excellent back up for Guzan.  He was named USL keeper of the year this year.

Preferred stadium location announced for Austin. Feeling pretty good about this thing actually happening after having my doubts over the last few weeks.

Safe to say Gattuso is not going to be a warm and fuzzy coach :)

"When I lost a match I broke down in frustration. Today players lose, take a selfie and put it on the Internet. They make me sick." - AC Milan's new head coach Gennaro Gattuso

It should be a good take especially being a rematch from last year when Toronto was the better team but lost at home on PK's

Here are the prices:

They're going for more than double this on Stubhub and there's not likely to be much left by the general on sale Monday. I'm in the ####ty situation where I'd like to go and have no problem paying the face value $$$ but the people who I would bring with me (wife/friend) don't want to pay $100-150/ticket. I still want to go, so I'm tempted to try to buy 2-4 on Monday, if I can manage to get my hands on them and maybe I sell one for profit to offset cost for my wife/friend who are put off by the price.

Of course, perhaps I could find someone willing to pay the full face value price for the tickets and come to the game with me *cough* @Steve Tasker *cough*

My wife's half-brother's adopted kid (yeah I know, but still) signed with Sheffield Wednesday's football academy today. At the least, I'll get free tickets next time I'm over there..

Anyone know why Liverpool plays Arsenal for the 2nd time before they've played Swansea once?  I thought the season was split into two 19-game halves, once vs each other team in each.
