DC United was playing TFC last week.

IN the 80th minute, a second ball came on to the field of play.

Ben Olsen, the DC coach, stepped on to the field to clear the ball off the pitch since it was near him.

Today MLS decided to suspend Olsen one game under the "entering the field of play policy".

Sounds like someone does not believe in spirit of the rule....

There are four weeks left in the Bundesliga season, here's where the races stand:
Deutscher Meister:

Bayern 25-3-2 78 72-14 58
Dortmund 22-5-3 71 72-30 42

Bayern could mathematically clinch this weekend with a win against Berlin and a Dortmund loss to Stuttgart.  They have both locked up CL Group Stage spots for next season.

The third CL Group Stage spot is possible for seven clubs, the leading contenders:

Leverkusen 15-6-9 51 47-33 +14
Berlin 14-7-9 49 40-36 + 4
M'gladbach 14-3-13 45 59-47 +12
Mainz 13-6-11 45 42-39 + 3
Schalke 13-6-11 45 41-43 - 2

The CL Playoff Round slot (4th in the table) is available to these five teams, and Wolfsburg (39 points), Ingolstadt (39) and Köln (37).

The Bundesliga gets two Europa League spots, and with the DFB Pokal being between the top two teams, the league will get a third EL spot.   Mathematically those three spots are open to everyone in the table except the top two (since they've clinched CL) and the bottom three.

Speaking of the bottom three:

Bremen 8-7-15 31 42-61 -19
Frankfurt 6-9-15 27 29-49 -20
Hannover 6-3-21 21 26-54 -28

The bottom two spots are straight relegation, the third is a relegation playoff vs a BL 2 team.
Hannover are pretty much guaranteed to go down, and there are 8 other squads within mathematical danger.

The battle to move up to BL1 is down to 5 teams, with three spots available:
Freiburg, Leipzig, Nürnburg, St. Pauli and Bochum.

I, for one, appreciate your Bundesliga updates...(although, not so much, your Bayern Munich predilection)... It's good to see Dortmund at least give them a run for their money...So Werder still had a chance to stay up? ( in a playoff against a BL 2 team?)

   Mia san mia.

Werder Bremen are currently in the playoff spot, but can still save itself from it.  They have 31 points and can get to 43.  There are eight clubs above them in the table that have less than 43 points.  So, with winning and the right clubs losing, yes, they can avoid relegation/relegation battle.

They close out with matches against Hamburger, Stuttgart, Köln and Frankfurt.  Three of those are clubs they are within striking distance of overtaking and the other is below them, so they can really help themselves.

Stuttgart...I just love pronouncing that.  2006 was the first year I was able to watch/follow Serie A, LaLiga  & Bundesliga on TV, via FoxSoccerChannel...an awesome year; fond memories of watching Stuttgart & Schalke simultaneously play their matches  (via splitscreen)  on the last match day, with the Reds winning the title...immediately followed by RM & Barca battling for LaLiga title (in separate games & splitscreen)...I was hooked.  Ray Hudson called the Stuttgart game...lol...Ray said Stuttgart's manager would never have to buy a drink in that town again, & he was fired like a 1 yr & a half later...Bundesliga & Ray...'twas glorious!

Thats pretty bad.  Had a ref book a player for farting on the bench one time.  But seriously the league is suspending a coach for this?  Would love to hear their reasoning.

Lol...So blatantly obvious.  I am surprised at how far Stoke's form has dropped...they were looking like a very solid team for awhile, with a legitimate attack.
Yeah, they're still in the the top half but their form over the last 6 is 16th.

Or technically not "suspended", but won't be selected while under investigation-

@JamesPearceEcho: Sakho has NOT been suspended by UEFA or  #LFC. He's available but club have taken decision not to select him while process continues.

Whatever you do, when you're a midfielder fighting relegation half ### your way back and don't pick up Lallana on the edge of the box.

First goal yes....second?

He sucks in the air, but he's an excellent shot stopper
I don't agree.  He makes excellent saves from time to time, but who doesn't?  He concedes the highest number of goals per shots on goal in the EPL.  Pretty awful IMO

Oblak with 22 clean sheets in 34 la Liga games. This one without Godín in front of him and Giménez (the other Uruguayan CB) for the first time in 4 weeks.

Very impressed with him.
