Its great to see so many picking Chelsea top 4, but I can't see how that will happen. Their back line is a disaster, and that's even assuming John Terry has another healthy and productive season, which is highly unlikely. Zouma won't start the season and no one knows if he'll ever get back to his old self, which was at best slightly above average. I know Arsenal are likely even worse off at the back, but I find it hard to imagine depending on Ivanovic, Terry and Cahill back there all season. But of course by far the biggest reason for Chelsea's massive drop last season was Eden Hazard, who went from PoY to complete dog#### overnight. I've been watching this guy for 4 full seasons, plus a few big summers with Belgium, and I really don't think he has the heart to fight back to PoY status. He seems like a really likable, funloving, goofy guy - basically the opposite personality of what you look for in a mega-star player. I really think Belgium made a mistake in giving him the captain's role - he's never seemed to want to be a leader of men. I could easily see Chelsea finishing double digits again this season.
I think Spurs are going to be in the discussion for the title at the end of the season. They have a great mix of players who've been together for several years and are going to be very hungry and probably angry. The biggest obstacle for them is the mental block of the awful crash at the end of last season, plus about half their team having terrible summer tournaments. If they can put that behind them and focus, I can see them nipping City and United, both in the midst of huge transitions and distractions.

Your gut is probably better than mine, although almost certainly smaller. Mahrez isnt coming to Chelsea. I don't think that was ever anything more than a Twitter fantasy. Koulibaly might still come and I think would help. I like Delaurentis, but he seems like a hard man to do business with.

I really think it boils down to depth and outside tournaments, Leicester and Spurs aren't really set up depth wiser for all of these extra games. Then again I'm probably smoking some Conte smoke and being blinded.

Conte and Kante could move Chelsea up the table but I agree that it will be tough to crack top 4.
Arsenal - always a conundrum, beautiful to watch but never the steel when they need it. And if they have a bad start with the back line injuries then maybe this is the year when the locker room starts to tune Wenget out.
City - to me this is the most interesting side to watch to see how long it takes Pep to get his style going and whether he has the players to do it.
Totts should be good - they have the fewest question marks coming in, just not sure they have enough individual talent - they need Kane to not have a WC hangover.
Liverpool - if they get consistency and stay away from injuries then they could be dangerous - those are big ifs.
United - I'm too biased to be objective. Lots of unknowns coming in and normally I would say it's a year too early for the title except I don't see a string favorite among the other contenders (unless Pep turns the Etihad in the Camp Nou North quickly).
Leicester - I want to say everyone's underestimating them and I do think that's the case for folks having them 10-12, but it's going to be a tough season for them with the European travel - they were too solid last year though to just fall off the map.

One reason I do like United's chances is the remarkable De Gea - he saved them in several matches last year and seems to just be getting better. I'm honestly amazed that they've been able to keep him from Madrid this long.
Spurs are used to the mid-week games - having been in Europa for several years now. Games will now be on Wednasday instead of Thursday. They are taking a step up in class, and may struggle to get out of the group, depending on the draw, but squad depth and midweek travel will not be an issue. They also have the youngest team in the league - where the recovery time is much lower than for teams like Chelsea or Man City who rely on older players. Spurs will rotate fullbacks, and 1-2 others, just like they did last season.

I think that is probably too harsh on Chelsea, but that is my read also - Conte will help, but they need a makeover, particularly in the back line.
Not yet. Likely, but the obvious choice of Sunderland became less likely when Sam left for the England job.
Now, its probably going to be a deadline deal to a team that is not happy with their RB situation.
Spurs have a number of outgoing players they are working on, so its just a matter of time.
Speaking of Madrid - very quiet summer for them imo - don't they have a transfer ban coming up too?

3. Man U (Jose, Pogba, Zlatan, enough said)
4. Chelsea (Will focus on the league, because they aren't playing any Euro competition)

I like this thinking. One other point that I'd like to make tho, Spurs have to keep their cool better than they did last year. Alli and Dier were constantly on yellows and often because they lost their cool, not for 'professional' fouls. That's part of the maturation process they need to go through, keeping their cool.

They couldn't beat Leicester last season while pretty much punting EL and focusing on the league. Doubt they can compete with a revamped City/United and Champions League.
They'll be back to being third in London
