Southampton had actually beaten Manyoo at Trafford two straight seasons. So maybe those terrible people in Manchester really are getting a slightly better product on the field this year. Or maybe Saints suck.

I'm pretty sure Saints are mediocre. But MU might be pretty good. Both of those are shames.
MU being good is never a shame.

On a different note, played in my college alumni game over the weekend.  Yes I still am sore.  2 things I noticed, I used to be faster and Im not as strong as I used to be.  Both of these are relative to 18-22 year olds.  I am still faster and strong in the over 35 leagues.... I think.  Played about 10-15 in each half, felt ok, some good passes, made some good plays on through balls.  Alumni went up 1-0 early on a 40 yard chip of the keeper on a free kick.  I think it was 2-1 at the half.  Ended 5-1.  Was some good fun.  Only a few of us over 40 made it out this year.

it's been almost 10 years since my last college alum game. it used to be an indoor tournament for alumns only which was better suited to not having to run (and I was even fit, back then). since then, they've moved it outdoors and play against the college kids- no.

We actually do 2 each 1.  one vs the college kids.  Mostly the really old guys try to get a few mins and make a good show.  2nd game we started last year and have planned for Oct is vs a rival college.  Alumni v Alumni (one game for over 35, one for under).  Play before the college game as kind of a homecoming deal.  Looking forward to that.

that's awesome.

Ended up getting free floor tickets to Guns n Roses. I was pretty whatever about it even though I did actually spend a couple  years of my life ripping out pictures of those guys from magazines and putting them on my wall. They ####### kicked so much ###. Seriously one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Wait. Is this the right thread for that? Pretty sure I got this.

Belongs in the soaped brazilian butt cheek soccer thread imo.

I'd put it here.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS.  IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU COULD EVER DO AND IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES.

ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

There are some things that you should know:

 1. Realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Kafka and Ned in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sebowski entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sebowski.

Hmmmm...pretty apropos.

What thread do we put @Ned meets @Kafka IRL last night?  Two worlds collide...
  Did I pop your cherry?  Was good to meat you, even if you did sneak up on me all ninja like.

Worlds are really gonna collide when our boys end up playing together.  I have a feeling Ned Jr. is going to end up pulling double duty with the U12 and U11's based on team needs.

   Thats a lot of "sinn" going on in there.  What are you trying to say?

Wet Dream's Thread About Nothing imo.

If anyone is looking for the Chelsea lineup discussion for the League Cup game against Bristol Rovers later today, expect to find it in the Roma/Liverpool gameday thread which I'll be resurrecting from page 7.

I am not a fan of that either. For comparison sake, here is the old rendering (same corner is cut out)

huh.. really jammed up against that powerplant too... not the nicest walk from the parking lot if you go through that alley-of-despair.

eta: and for that matter, it looks like you can park about 200 cars in that lot... which is great if the stadium holds 8k.

I don't think the parking lot is for fans, I think it is for team, front office and stadium staff.  This in the city so I think fans use public transportation to get there mostly.

ah. urban stadiums here and parking: Mets more than Yankees... MSG, no. Barclays, not really. but I thought the stadium was more on the outskirts of DC than truly "urban".

pretty industrial.

but it's essentially right next to the nationals stadium, so all of the travel related infrastructure have to already be sorted out and in place- which is great. and maybe in combo with the nats stadium it will help change the complexion of the waterfront there from seemingly off-limits accessible.

True.  But both Bournemouth and Southampton beat United last year.  So its good to get wins.  Have to beat the teams you are supposed to beat.
To me it's more about how they've played than the results, although that helps the perception of how they play a lot too.  With LvG you never felt that we would definitely score or definitely prevent goals.  Now, it already seems that the side and the fans are more confident.  That was something SAF always brought with him to every match - he never considered for a minute that we wouldn't win, except in some of the top European CL matches.

I'm still with you though - as good as Fellaini has started the season I want nothing to do with him long-term.  Maybe that's rash but I think you are spot on saying we have better options sitting on the bench.

LAFC broke ground today on the Banc of California Stadium (Rendering of stadium )

Old school sports fans would know the old Los Angeles Sports Arena, where the Lakers, Clippers, UCLA and USC all called home at one time or another.  This old building will be demolished and the new soccer stadium will go up in the same spot.
