MLS was considering dropping the expansion draft all together for Atlanta and Minnesota but decided on reduced draft.

Atlanta and Minnesota can draft 5 players each from the unprotected pool but no existing team will lose more than one player.  

Each MLS team can protect 11 players plus any Generation Adidas players on their roster.  Every one else would be unprotected.

So basically 10 teams will lose 1 player and 10 teams will lose no players.

FC Dallas's win last night in the US Open Cup final ended the longest trophy drought for any MLS team at 19 years.

You have to give them credit.  No big name players and an academy system that is churning out players at an incredible pace both for MLS and Europe.

They are also leading the league in the Supporters Shield race as the regular season comes down to the last few games so another trophy might be there for the taking.
