NYRB had partial season plans available too... I'd assume all teams do.

but back to that question- do you have to show id with the card, or can you "loan" it out to friends?

Yeah, Philly has the partial plan.  They've blocked that option right now, but when I looked at it last year they limited you to certain games you could choose from.  It was sort of like a sliding scale of popular teams - the bigger the package, the better the team selection.

 
At a minimum NYCFC lets you re-sell them through Ticketmaster and I know you can transfer them to a friend to use as well.

yeah, @Ned, partial plans might be a better choice for you.  Most teams have a nice selection of choices that can fit what you are looking for.

As for the card, there is no ID associated with it.  They just scan and you go in.  So you could easily loan the Revs cards to friends but anything they do in stadium while using your card is held against you.  You could easily lose your season ticket package if a drunk friend does something stupid while using your card.

I think most teams try and sell the full packs first before opening up the partial and eventual single game tickets, so you just need to pay attention to when that changes.   Most teams in the stadium size Philly has cap season tickets around 13-14k so you should easily be able to find something if you just wait it out.

Plus if you are looking at a partial package, it actually behooves you to wait to see how the various teams shake out over the winter in case there are teams/players you want to see.

They have a card as well, but you can definitely transfer them.  They use the card for their Fan club.  You get points for certain things for either products or experiences.  Of course this is all theoretical since we really only go to weekend day games.

Transferring them sounds kind of permanent.  Am I reading that right?  

I think Ned was wondering if he could get a season ticket package and then be able to give away games 4, 7, 13, and 15 but still go to every other game.  It sounds like transferring means you move the entire package to the new person.  But I could be misunderstanding the term

I'm new to all this, so I could be missing something.  I've been watching for a bit... The seats they're showing as available are getting pretty thin.  I have a hard time believing they've sold that many full season packages.  It looks like 80% of the seats are sold. :confused:  

I did find this:

Yup, that's where I'm at.  We want season tickets, but realistically won't be able to make all 18 games.  So when we have to bail on a game because the boys have a soccer tournament, I want to be able to sell the tickets for that game.

Yes...you can transfer for free.  Basically they want the tickets sold and then don't care.  They then cater to the diehards with a loyalty "club".  The more matches or other events you go to, the more points you get for loot.

just a note (you probably already know this) but the season has only 17 home games.  Teams keep the 18th in the package to cover a random friendly or maybe the first home playoff game if there is one.  

My 18th game has gone unused a couple of times and the team refunds the ticket if they don't use it.

 
@Ned I have no idea what the Philly prices are like but the Revs prices for the supporter section I sit in are dirt cheap (especially when you renew early).  They are so inexpensive I don't even worry if I miss a game or 2.

I think for 2017, my season package cost only $289.  And that comes with free parking.

Interestingly, NYCFC doesn't market the number of games...but rather all regular season home matches for $X or X/month.  Playoffs and other other one-offs are extra.

The cheapest seats are $360 and that doesn't include parking.  They give you the "Option to Purchase discounted Parking Pass for 2017".  We are going to be buying 4 tickets since both boys and my wife love going as much as I do.

let us know what you finally do.  Were you hoping to get this done as an xmas gift?

One thing that may be worth exploring is to just give the Philly ticket office a quick call and explain your situation.  They might easily be able to guide you in the right direction for your specific circumstances.

I know for NYCFC, the cheap supporter seats are the quickest to go and generally hold price for resale (your local market may vary).  Put it this way, if you are going to go to the vast majority of matches and like the seats, I don't think you'd lose much on the resale and if you are in the supporters club, a lot of times they have their own networks of offloading tickets to others.

I also see that NYCFC is going to put into place a program to trade in the ones you aren't going to use for games later in the season.  I wonder if others will follow suit.

Not an xmas gift,we've just talked about it off/on for a while now.  We went to a few games this year and fell in love with the whole experience.  She came from a very non-sports family, so seeing her get this into it has been pretty damn cool. :wub:   I've been casually watching the seat selection dwindling down which is making my trigger finger itch.  I still have a really hard time believing they've sold 80%+ :no:  

Talking this out made me reach out to their support folks....

They've got some sort of partnership with StubHub where season ticket holders can sell tickets on the secondary market.  They also have an exchange program that allows you to swap tickets from a game you cannot attend and load them on to another game.

many teams have been doing this for a long time.  It is one of the reasons the late season games always have such a high attendance league wide compared to the norm.

I will add a word of caution here.  Being able to sell the tickets and actually getting them sold are two different things.

 Of course here in NE this is much different with a huge stadium where at any time you can get a seat when ever you want. Perhaps in Philly with the lower supply, it is easier to move tickets but I would not be shocked if you find you may have to lower the price to move them.

That is the only reason I am playing... it is the first year of the official league, and it is fairly similar, but way less complicated than the EPL one.

Can someone in the know share an analysis of Atlanta United's roster and prospects for the season? Will they be competitive? Are they building the right way?

As an expansion team, it is almost impossible to predict how things are going to turn out.  There are so many chemistry variables involved.  But here are some thoughts

* They got a big name coach in Gerardo Martino and he appears to be wanting to focus the team in a South American style

* Atlanta has arguably the #1 ranked US youth player in their system in Andrew Carelton.  He might be too young to have much of an affect this year but he may get playing time.

* If Garza comes, the defense looks solid.  Garza, Lolyd and Parkhurst give them quality and experience back there

* The two DP's are attacking midfielder types in Almiron and Villaba.  Most of the offense will go through these two young players

* I am not sold on how much Kenwyne Jones has left as the big striker on the team

* They still have a 11 or so players to sign including another DP.  Losing Romero to China was huge

Overall I have been very impressed with everything down there.  Boca seems to have a very large budget in which to build the club from the academy to the first team and I like what he is doing.  How this plays out in year one is impossible to tell but the direction they are taking as a franchise is very good IMO.

How do DP's work? Can they sign anyone they want to fill that spot? Is there a financial limit in terms of salary or transfer fee?
