I'm not paying for that service, as I think it's an appalling money grab from NBC. I will either watch from the pub or use a streaming service.

Wankers the lot of them.

I am assuming NBC will get most of its money from supporters of the Big-6 when those teams play Huddersfield, West Brom, Swansea, etc.  Can't be more than a handful of Huddersfield supporters crazy enough to pay $50 to watch them every week.

I am sure I can find a dodgy stream or 2 when Spurs are limited to the cheap seats.

N'Zonzi just handed in a transfer request at Sevilla.  His release clause is 36 million euros.  Amazingly, for those of us who saw him with Stoke, he's been a revelation with Sevilla.  Would make a lot of sense for either Arsenal or City, IMO.  Or just about any of the teams looking to knock Juve off in Serie A.  Even a frisky Everton (a Gueye/N'Zonzi CM pairing would be pretty nasty).

With the talk of the NBC streaming service any idea if all the games will continue to be available on Direct TV?

good timing.  Have you ever been to the stadium before?
Yes, I went to Sporting Park in May when I was here for work.  It was a Wednesday game vs. Seattle.  Drank copious amounts of beer and sat in the supporters section.  Have tickets with assigned seats tonight near the half line.

Love the stadium for soccer.  Small but loud.  I would prefer if it was closer to town, its a 30-minute drive from downtown.

Article today in the local paper says Vermes is very intent on winning the cup, and there was some rotation for the Sunday game v. Atlanta so I expect the best lineup and effort tonight.  If When SKC wins they will host the final.

Are you referring to the NBC Live Sports Extra channels? (these were on DTV as well as many other cable providers).

From what I understand they will not be showing EPL games any more but I guess we need to wait and see to make sure what is what as it is a bit confusing.

I think it was the Live Sports extra which was on Direct TV starting around channel 490.  I will be so bummed if that is going away.  I may have no choice but to kick out $50 so I can watch Swansea.

Week 2 is Bournemouth-Watford, Burnley-WBA, Leicester-Brighton, and Southampton-West Ham.

Week 3 is Crystal Palace-Swansea, Huddersfield-Southampton, Newcastle-West Ham, Watford-Brighton, and Spurs-Burnley.

Thanks but no thanks Comcast. It's worth a shot on their end though.

Guess we won't be seeing Rafa anymore:

Not that this was of any surprise but it should be interesting to see how NYC uses this money and DP spot

barely plays... they trot him out for the last 10 of games in hand. sad way for this kind of generational talent to go out, IMO. sammy will have watched him more, but I don't feel like he ever really found his footing here in the US.

He was fine until Toronto exposed him in last years playoffs.  That prompted them to get Moralez, Ring and Herrera.  The rest is history.  He provides no defensive cover at all anymore.  He still has "it" with the ball at his feet though.  I won't be shocked if they look for left sided attacker as a replacement.  Who that would be I don't know, but both Harrison and Villa are more right-sided and I'd presume they are expecting Harrison to slide into the Villa role when he's done.

like I said- you've seen more of them than me. when I watch them play with him, tbh- he doesn't offer much going forward that most other guys don't. I feel like he gets closed down so quickly that whatever of his magic that's left gets nullified. again... games I've seen him play- not all his games.

eta: are they really expecting Harrison to be a holding/deep-lying central MF? maybe he's got that ability- just looks so comfortable playing out wide going at guys.

Part of it is that they've turned into a high pressure team that tends to play the ball into space as opposed to the pure possession team they were in the first half of last year.  They'd much rather spring Villa into any space with the ball at his feet (shocking I know) than build up out of the back.  They will do that, but without Matarrita (and now Wallace) they are missing some balance and teams try to press them high.

This my team you can't have them!

@MLSTransfers Hearing that #NERevs are signing **** today. Is he Brazilian?

I really don't want to pay this, just for principal...  but at the same time $50 is affordable entertainment, considering I'd watch an additional game or two per game week for 38 match weeks.
I barely watch more than one or two any more once they started ruining the scores.  I'm convinced my wife had something to do with it.

Oh, a Rose is a Rose, is a Rose

:sigh:
SF, how do you anticipate Tottenham addressing the issue here?

They have all these amazing players that have blossomed at once and their wage structure is far too low.

Players don't mind being underpaid for a short time.....but at some point Rose, Kane, Lloris, Allie, both CBs, Eriksen...all these guys need to be paid what they are worth.

Who knows - they have pocketed nearly £80M this summer - thats enough to give everyone a £75,000/week raise..

Levy is a fiscal conservative.  Always will be.  His head is exploding with all of the crazy valuations and wages.  The problem is - those levels are here to stay.  Levy sees them as aberrations, and he is trying to wait out the storm.  Eventually he will figure it out - but it could be costly.

Rose is probably a poor messenger - given that he has missed the last half-season, and who know what he will be like post-knee-surgery.  I do think the players are frustrated by the lack of ambition shown - and I think they, like many fans, equate spending with ambition.  But, its also the penny-wise, pound foolish approach that Levy takes - in almost every negotiation that drives everyone insane.

Spurs sold Walker, and there was some inner turmoil that precipitated that deal - but they still have not signed a back-up RB - despite looking at several.  Barkley is dragging on far too long, even acknowledging that much of that is down to Everton.  I think Levy needs to pull a big deal out of his #### - just don't think he has it in him.  But ENIC (ownership group which is primarily Joe Lewis and Levy) have made a big bet on this new stadium.  They only way it pays off is if Spurs have a title contending squad to ensure that the stadium is full.  So, they can't let Dele, Kane, Eriksen, Lloris, Alderweireld, Vertonghen go before next season.  And, they will need another signing next season to excite the base...
