I actually only did transfers once this week... but it was pretty much my whole team when I did it. 

P.S. Naby and Kun are the only ones that have been in everyone of my lineups.

United had 81 last season.

Leicester won the league with 81 in 2016

81 was better then 4 of SAF's league title totals.

Yeah, the narrative for United is tied so much to Jose and him being a ####.  I said back when SAF retired that Jose was the guy I wanted to replace him because he was the only manager at the time that I thought had a big enough personality to be able to continue things.  When they waited several years I wasn't sold on him being a good fit.  He's getting better results but his style is not changing at this point.  My prediction is top-4 - lots of lackluster performances that may result in wins but are ugly and they probably aren't a factor the last couple of months.

As for the transfer window, the only thing I'm disappointed about is not getting a CB and getting rid of Jones and/or Lindelof.  Need a partner for Bailiy and for him to stay healthy.  Thing is, there's plenty of talent elsewhere in the team - he just needs to do a better job with it.  I doubt it changes much from last year and I'm ready for him to leave by next summer.  Big question for this year is can they stay top-4 and who replaces him.

I agree with most of this.  A new CB would be good but imo Bailley has the potential to be the best in the EPL.  But needs to stay healthy.  I also want him paired with Lindelof as 1st choice. Already have an oft injured CB in Jones.  Smalling is regressing and Rojo is fine as a backup.  Would have been fine selling Smalling and Jones and Rojo.  A CB is needed, as was a right sided winger.  Unless Sanchez moves back there.

Jose needs to use his squad and learn to rotate better.  Cant let better players like Herrera and Martial sit for weeks at a time while lesser talents like Fellaini and Lingard constantly see time and even start.  Lukaku and Pogba do not need to play 90+ minutes every game.  Mata needs to be left in for 90 once in awhile.  

Fred and Dalot were a good start.  Would have liked a Mahrez type and a CB as well but really the only thing I'm really upset about is the resigning of the  :censored:   :fro: .

Jose does love a player like :fro:  I don't think that is going to change...

The thing for me is that United should be a lot closer to City, and they should be able to play a much more attractive brand of football than what they are doing. From what I am hearing from my United mates is that they are sick of the style of football being played, that it is dreadful at times and how bored they are at times. I don't watch United, except for twice a year, but based on the players they have, they should be able to play more interesting.

Between Sanchez, Lukaku, Rashford, they should have a lot of goals from the attacking end (not just garbage time goals from Lukaku), with Pogba more advanced at least getting double digits. That's a pretty potent front 4 on paper. Is Martial bombed out by Jose, from the little I have seen I thought he would be a great addition on the regular?

I really like Herrera, and don't get why he isn't used more, but maybe it's evident if you watch him every week. Mata is another player that should be able to pitch in with goals, I would think. A few years back he made a huge difference at Anfield. One thing with the midfield I haven't liked is that Jose seems to play with Matic and the :fro:  even against "lesser" opponents, and is satisfied with 1-0 results, just grinding it out.  I don't know what to expect from Fred to be honest.

On the back end, I think Ashley Young is underrated as a defender, sure he is 33 (?), but he is also pretty experienced, and knows how to use that experience to get the job done. Bailley seems to easily be the best CB, and they should be fine with any of the others pairing with him.

I don't know, the parts individually seem a lot better than the sum of the parts, but I might be talking out of my ####... :shrug:

I don't understand why ANYONE likes a player like Fellani.

I agree with the rest of this.  Watching them they are stagnant.  Even their counter attacks don't go full speed.  SAF could have grinding teams but that counter where everyone went flying forward was a thing of beauty.  This team could do that with the pace of Sanchez, Martial, Pogba, Rashford... the quickness and creativity of Mata.  It would mask the park the bus narrative if they team broke a high flying counter out and scored 1-2 a game.  

United should be challenging City.  They have the talent and pace to do so.  Jose needs to push them to play, like Klopp and Pep do.  But Jose keeps it very methodical and structured.

Sanchez, Martial, Pogba, Rashford, and supplied by any combination of Mata/Herrera/Matic would be a scary proposition playing like Ferguson did.

oops, didn't mean to leave him out.  He would thrive with the speed and service of those SAF teams.  

SAF's gift was being able to get more out of his players then he should have.  So much so that he won titles with teams he shouldnt have.  Teams that Moyes and LVH fell down the table with.  Jose used to be able too.  Now he just destroys.

I'm kinda thinking that Brighton is more likely to stay up than Brighton (I'm so weird -- I like both of my South Coast rival clubs). Brighton has those tough German kids in the lineup while Bournemouth pulled out a million points in the last few minutes of games last year. Heck, maybe that just shows a mental toughness from the Cherries, stemming from future Saints coach Eddie Howe.

Ninth for Saints per 538 (that's the highest prediction I've seen for them yet) sounds ludicrous.

I am not going to do a "final standings" prediction for the season, I prefer to take a points range view.

Top 6 (alphabetical order):

Arsenal: 65-75 pts. Too many unknowns for me. How are they going to line up, are they going to see the best from Lacazette and Aubamayang? Will the lack of defense kill them, especially away? New coach, new system, might be a bedding in period with ups and downs (all new coaches has had this).

Chelsea: 65-75 pts. Main question for me, where are the goals coming from. How quickly will the team adapt to Sarri's style? Is Sarri going to struggle adapting to the EPL. He doesn't have the most impressive resume outside of the Napoli position.

Liverpool: 80-90 pts. Klopp's focus has been on adding depth, which will allow for less variance when he rotates, and also allow for injury cover. His rotation worked well during the fall, from the aspect of keeping players firing late April/May, but the thin squad also left him no injury cover, and the drop in quality when rotating was very evident, and the team suffered too many draws because of it. This should be improved this year. A lot of players to still bed in, and injury concerns with others, and still short an attacking option. Fekir having knees would've helped this...

Manchester City: 85-95 pts. I think they will be challenged to repeat 100pts, even though their squad obviously are capable to do it, especially adding Mahrez. I think Pep will have to rotate some, especially since I feel their focus will be Champions League results this spring. Fernandinho was very leggy at the end of the season, and he needs more limited minutes to start. KdB showed signs of fatigue as well. They sure could hit 100 again, but I think it'll be hard to do so. Had 100pts 17/18. Reasonable to think 1 extra loss and 2-4 extra draws on the year.

Manchester United: 80-90 pts. Extremely capable squad on paper, and would be closer to Man City with a different coach/tactic. If Jose changes his style this team could be in the 85-95 pts range. Heck, do anything to play more attractive football. 

Tottenham: 75-85 pts. I was considering dropping this to 70-80, based on how tired most Spurs players seem. Alli/Kane played many minutes last year, and all summer, and they just looked knackered. Son going to miss playing time as well. I'm not sure Spurs will have the depth to cope with the league and Champions League, but Poch has shown he can make it work before.

So, judging on the point ranges I feel it will be a race between City, Liverpool, United, with Spurs with an outside chance depending on fatigue. I feel Chelsea and Arsenal will be outside of the top 4, for this season.

thesackrace.com has Zizou at 11/4 followed by Pochettino and Ancelotti.  It's a crazy list with a bunch of Old Trafford legends and every other big name manager, employed or not.

If you want to throw your money away, PaddyPower will give you 200/1 odds on the triumphant return of David Moyes.

I am sure Zidane is on the top of most lists.  At the time of Jose's hiring I wanted Laurent Blanc.  He played 2 seasons under SAF at United, and had been doing well at PSG.

Would be interesting to see what Pochettino could do with money backing him.  Ancelloti has the pedigree.

Chelsea have confirmed loans of Kurt Zouma to Everton and Michy Batshuayi to Valencia for the season.  It looks like they will be relying on Morata, Giroud and Tammy Abraham for goals from the CF position.

wow- they kept tammy. I like what I saw of him, but fully expected him to go out on loan again. 

I think Morata turns things around this year. I feel like Pogba has been just off being huge the last two years, narrowly missing a lot of final balls- shots and passes- that would've put him into upper elite territority. I'm guessing- with the big caveat of whether he stays or not- that they start to go in, and he has a huge year.

Still trying to find a premier league team. I tried Chelsea a few years ago but it didn’t stick. I love playing with Liverpool in Fifa but I dunno. I like their song too but I don’t get excited for them  

United always seems to call to me but I don’t want to root for the Yankees. :unsure:

If you want to get your hopes up only to have them dashed in the most frustrating way possible I strongly recommend Arsenal.  :thumbup:

The United/Yankees thing is garbage.  Root for the team that calls to you.
