So I'm looking to get a new Soccer Jersey or maybe like 3 or 4. I need a new Milan since my last one is pretty beat and want the new Puma. I also want a Pulisic Dortmund or USA Jersey. I also have nothing Newcastle and maybe a blank one for now would do. And I really want a classic Totti Roma Jersey. I also don't want to spend a boat load of money. My Milan Jersey I purchased off a legit Australian Soccer website that has stores in Australia. I forget the name of the store and I also completely deleted my Email confirmation from them by accident when cleaning out my inbox's and such I was able to get the jersey for $35. Anyone know of anywhere I can get any of these jerseys without spending an arm and a left nut for?

I have used them. I purchased the youth one for my son and he still uses it and it has held up well. It's a good looking jersey and cost me under $40. This was it

Thanks yeah I see your point with kids. I posted on a forum for yrs where people knew I was single and no kids so I didn't have anyone sending me links for youth. The Numbers on my Union Jersey actually wore off. They weren't Ironed on numbers just some sort of ink that wore off. y Milan jersey had the rubber Numbers which started peeling off and the back looks horrible. I've taken off some of the number and you can see the outline and all still but looks bad.

I'm surprised as he's not the type to get in trouble, Really mature and natural leader type.Yeah - disappointed in Hugo. Its been an interesting morning on SpursCommunity - amazing how many are quick to turn on him.
I still support him.
Thats kind of why I am ready to wait and see - this feels more like an anomaly, than a long-term problem.

There can be no question there are way too many rules in place now. While each rule individually had its own unique purpose, year after year of adding these rules has made the roster building flow chart look like an Onion article.
But what Nicol and Shaka were saying is true as well. While the league looks eons better than the old days in terms of financial health, it is still not really ready to stand on its own yet and not be afraid to implode just like the NASL did. I think the constant fear is if they take off the training wheels and then Atlanta, Toronto, Seattle and 1 or 2 others will start spending at a rate that the other teams can never keep up with (which is exactly what caused the NASL to go out of business).

I hate the SEM and the ridiculous transfer rules. I literally quit going to games and gave up watching because of those things. Having said, I also remember soccer in the US before MLS.

If SEM was not in place, you would not have had to quit on your own as the league would have folded. SEM was the only thing that allowed MLS to barely survive back in the dark days.

I think expansion teams are a mistake. In my opinion, a smaller league with bigger stars is the way to go in the USA. The MLS has come a long way and i don't think older people don't realize how many younger fans there are. It's pretty remarkable.

Some of the biggest teams in the league are expansion teams. LAFC, Seattle, Atlanta, Toronto, Portland etc. Cincy is going to be a monster hit as well.
There is not much of a league left with out those teams IMO. I don't think anyone wants to watch teams like NE play in empty stadiums on a crap field lined with grid iron markings.

I mean expanding from this point, i don't think they should. Maybe relocation seems like a better option but at the same time i would hate it if my team moved. Maybe i'm scared to see the MLS grow quick and fail.

I hate the allocation money and some of the money rules that really choke teams out. I'm not opposed to the MLS draft but I think clubs should retain any rights no matter who or how long they were affiliated with a player before they left for college. I also hate the waiver rule for acquiring players from other leagues or returning US players.NewlyRetired said:

For Example Jay Sugarman The Union owner has the funds to go ok a deal with a top DP. None of us mind the build through the Youth academy and the Union's academy is considered pretty top class in MLS or one of the better ones in over the last few yrs with the facilities and bringing in the Bethlehem Steel. We already got Trusty/McKenzie/Derrik Jones out of the academy and Corey Burke (10 games in all comp all 10 goals were scored as a starter) who played with the Steel but we need at least one DP good one to stand a chance. For yrs we wasted a lot of money on DP players not worth it (I lost count on how many of those DPs were keepers when we didn't need one) until we got Bedoya. Haris has been a godsend as well. You mean to tell me all Sugarman could scrounge up was Jay Simpson a guy from not even one of the top 2 English leagues? Heck I think he was playing 4th league when we got him. We could scrounge up money to get a Nikolic or Josef Martinez? It's frustrating. And then don't get me started on MLS rules where they only imply to certain so MLS can get certain Marketable players certain clubs they want them on. Looking at you Sea with Dempsey along at you LA Galaxy.
Hard to root for a club in a league where the league seems to have a certain agenda that doesn't benefit the whole league.

I saw rumors this summer that that Docoure (sp?) cat at Watford was on some big clubs' radars and I thought he was the most dangerous guy on the field yesterday.
Leeds (LeedsLeedsLeeds) and Middlesborough have each taken 13 of 15 possible points and play each other Friday.
I see no reason not to feel good about my preseason relegation predictions: Huddersfield, Cardiff and Southampton.

This was discussed on Goal Zone yesterday... very interesting and a great use of VAR. The review happened during the player's #####ing and did not slow down the pace of play.

I can never remember if this is the thread where we discuss travel/club soccer, so forgive my faux pas if it's not. Otherwise, I could use some advice on how to best handle (or not handle) a situation with my son.
The long backstory: Son has played for a relatively competitive local travel team for 8 years - he's now U15 and in 8th grade. From day 1, the coach has always said his long-term goal was to help the boys build a skillset so that they make their high school's JV team when they hit 9th grade. He's good with the kids, but very prickly with parents and other adults. The coaches for our other age groups, the club director, and the high school coach openly can't stand him. On the other hand, he has donated countless hours a year to working with our sons.
A little over 2 years ago, we needed an extra GK for spring because our two keepers also played another spring sport and couldn't make every game. My son volunteered to be the 3rd keeper - he never intended it to be permanent. He did well enough in the spring that at tryouts for the following fall, the coach cut one of the other GKs. My son could live with this, because he still got to play the field more than half the time. He didn't love it, but felt he owed it to the team and GK#1 (who also liked to get some time in the field).
Last year, the split was straight 50/50, and my son was less happy with it. With tryouts for this year approaching, I suggested he ask the coach to find another GK because he preferred playing the field (without going into detail, both GKs are also two of our better field players, and also among the handful that have seemed to hit a growth spurt). Not sure what my son said to him, but the Coach did bring up to me that son told him that he didn't want to play goal. I assumed the coach meant play goal for the club, and asked if he would be recruiting a new #2 GK. Coach replied, "Oh no, I meant that he told me he didn't want to play goal in high school." I guess that was where I should have responded, "But isn't the whole goal to get him ready for HS?"
The situation: Fast forward to our first pre-season tourney this weekend. In the first game, GK#1 gets hurt. He's OK, but likely out 4-6 weeks with a muscle strain. This, of course, meant my son had to play goal for the rest of the tournament. He played really well given the circumstances, but thanks to injuries, our lack of size, and losing a couple of 9th graders to JV, the whole team got pummeled. We only scored 2 goals in the 5 games he played GK, and gave up 9 (3 on PKs). Despite playing really well, he was totally demoralized. And knowing he's the only GK for our upcoming Labor Day tournament and possibly the first half of the season just makes him feel worse. Before the last game, another kid actually offered to play goal so Lex could see the field, and the coach nixed it: "you guys obviously need to get better at your real positions."
The question: When my son asked for advice, I told him he should talk to the coach and present the argument to him that playing GK full time isn't helping improve for HS next year. But today when I talked to work friends with older kids that play HS sports, they seemed to think that my son is still young enough that I should be the one to approach the coach and say something. I don't want to be that parent, and the coach also has a history of taking parental input very poorly. Therefore, I'm inclined to stay out of it, but wanted to see if folks in the soccer thread thought I owed it to my son to bring it up with the coach.
