The Almiron fee is contingent on whether Newcastle stays in the EPL.  Sounds like it is $21m base and if they stay up, it rises to $27.5m
I guess I undervalue the guy. great work-rate, and some good skills- but I just don't see it at the next level- especially in a faster more physical leauge, with the way he falls down and cries. ok- that last bit was just an aside. I wish him well, and I genuinely hope newcastle/yedlin stay up

So you don’t see how one of the fastest and most skilled players in MLS can play for a low-level EPL club?

WHY DO YOU HATE THE MLS, FLOPPO???

BREAKING: @Fellaini passes medical and is travelling to China ahead of a permanent move to Shandong Luneng. #SSN
Legend.

Hate to see him go, but it’s time.  Great servant to the club. Good luck big Fella. 👍

looks like Acosta to PSG hit a late snag

=================

Tutul Rahman‏ @tutulismyname

Le 10 Sport reporting that the PSG talks for Acosta have hit complications, including Tuchel preferring to reinstate Adrien Rabiot

spurs and chelsea in batshuay talks.

also saw that bony went somewhere. forgot all about him.
Yeah - I changed my avatar at SpursCommunity to the BatSignal - but no luck yet.

Batshuayi has apparently terminated his deal at Valencia - so he is moving somewhere in the next couple of hours...

In case there was any doubt... Toronto plan to go big to replace Giovinco and Vazquez. Told club is aiming to sign a younger attacker as a DP in next couple weeks. If signed, the fee will likely be among the highest in MLS history. Targeting 1-2 TAM signings this window, as well

All the loans, and Spurs still have not been able to get rid of Vincent Janssen, despite not even giving him a squad number this season.

I'm told Toronto FC has its sights on Algerian playmaker Sofiane Hanni, currently at Spartak Moscow, as a DP replacement for Giovinco. TFC could definitely use his creativity after the departures of Giovinco and Victor Vasquez. #TFC #MLS

Different guy?

yes and no.  The guy Ives is talking about would be a TAM signing.  I do not know who the dp is they are targeting for that price.
ah- good. I think I've seen Hanni play- and he's quite good if it's the same guy I'm thinking of. but that's not exactly a "big signing" like your post referenced, even if Ives mentions him being a DP replacement for the outgoing players.

we just have to wait this all out.  There is still Jozy too that was likely to be gone (from Jozy himself).

At least you guys kept Kaku.  He is going to be crucial in the CCL games.

Interestingly, Di Marzio say deal for Luciano Acosta broke down due to $1.5M difference. #DCU wanted $13M, but #PSG only willing to go up to $11.5M. That would be quite something, DCU playing tough with one of the biggest/richest clubs in the world

if true, this seems a little greedy for DC.  They purchased Acosta for $1.5m.  A ten times return is pretty much gin.

Barreca on Loan to Newcastle as well

Newcastle United are pleased to confirm that defender Antonio Barreca has joined the club on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy, from @AS_Monaco.

Not as greedy as Watford First they wanted 25M-28M for the guy now there's reports they wanted 40M-45M that's 20M or so more then what they paid to buy to begin with

"According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan's offer for Deulofeu was in the €10m-€15m region, similar to what Watford spent for the Spanish winger in July.

However, Watford were asking for close to triple of what Milan were offering."

If you're wondering - not that any of you are - Luciano Acosta, I'm told, is devastated by all of this. This will be a tough one to stomach.

it is got to be hard to think your life is about to change into everything you dreamed about as a kid and in a second it all just changes to a long ### flight back to an MLS preseason camp.....

Apparently Tuechel didn't even know about the transfer and when he found out blocked it too. Per Parisian Journalists DC was also a bit greedy in the end too

1.5M is a lot of cash for an MLS team.

Qatar have won the Asian Cup.  They were actually pretty much the dominant team (I didn't see a single minute of it, just based on the results) - undefeated in the group  stage, 10 goals scored, none conceded. Beat Iraq, S.Korea and the host UAE in the knockouts by a combined 6 goals to zero. Beat Japan in the final earlier today 3-1.

A couple great looking goals in the final, although Japan's defense looks a bit weak.

Qatar is playing as an invitee in the Copa America this summer. I'm pretty interested to see how they fare against these hard-assed south american teams.

Well, since I can't talk about transfers - here is my latest favorite Picture of Tottenham's new stadium

You are looking south (south-east really).  The tall buildings in the background on the right-side of the picture are Canary Wharf.

As you look over the stadium - kind of just right of center - you can see the top of London Stadium - where West Ham play now.  Emirates would be at about the same position if the photo was looking from the North-East corner.

The Lilywhite House on the north-side of the stadium houses Spurs corporate offices and has a walkway/bridge directly to the stadium.

Its a little harder to tell - but the building adjacent to the stadium on the SouthWest corner - is the Club Shop - in partnership with Nike, it is the largest club shop in Europe.
