A reminder for USMNT, this is a team with Ronaldo (ManU), Jota (Liverpool), Bernardo Silva (Man City) up top, Renato Sanches (Lille), Moutinho (Wolves), D. Pereira (PSG) in midfield, Ruben Dias (City), Cancelo (City), J Fonte (Lille), N. Mendes (PSG) on defense, and R. Patricio (Roma) in goal.

They couldn't win a 5 team group that was won by 25th ranked Serbia. The group included Azerbaijan (119), Luxembourg (91), and Ireland (51).

They got 17 points from 8 matches.

ETA -- Along with Bruno Fernandes (United) and Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) as other major players and further depth with guys like Neves, Carvalho, Semedo, Dalot, Leao.

Messi and Argentina faced tougher comp and are through to the WC

 
UEFA's organization for qualifying this cycle is strange.

13 teams total qualify

10 teams made it by winning their groups (much of each group was very weak).

And now it is a lions den of 12 good teams battling it out for only 3 spots over multiple rounds.  If I am understanding this right, the last 12 teams will play various single elimination games until only 3 are left.  Sounds like the higher seeded team gets to play at home, and seeds were determined based on the original group results that saw the 10 teams directly qualify.

 
gosh darn Playoffs again!!!! Now gotta win 2 to get in. Jorginho missed 2 PKs total in the Swiss matches and we drew Bulgaria. Showed absolutely no urgency. Really Embarrassing showing by the Euro Champs. Hopefully we're healthy and get a good draw being a seeded side in the playoffs.

3 groups of 4 with 2 seeded teams in each and then 2 non seeded. They play two games to win and in. 

If my math is correct.

The good news for UEFA teams is it’s already over for the great majority of their teams including most of the tier 1 countries. This CONCACAF round goes into March and one team will still have a playoff?  I guess it’s a Covid thing.

I’m pulling for ESPN here in hopes that it gets folded into ESPN+. Not sure if that’s a realistic dream but it’s my dream and you can’t take that away from me.

Yes Playoffs for Europe would've been this International break without covid 

 
With Milan and Frank Kessie at a distance on an extension that expires this summer Milan have heavy interest in Lille Renato Sanchez who Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes has offered Milan. Per Enrico Boiani of Radio Rossonera he was told by a few different Sources if Milan make an Offer to Lille for Sanchez in January he's good as gone and Milan player. Salary of 5.5M Euros is not an issue and 25-30M Euros for the transfer fee would work. 

Milan and Kessie are too distant right now and Maldini and Milan have made no further attempts to contract Kessie for the future. Milan could very likely Sell Kessie in January though

It will just make the ESPN subscription higher and/or they create a new service.

I'll pay more for good content. I won't pay a lot of horrible content. Plus if you have the Hulu and Disney packages with it, then it's well worth it. 

One of the reasons I love Paramount is the options I have to watch stuff. I can watch my live TV while playing a game or watching something else. Stream CCL, Calcio and other soccer and a lot of shows I like are on there. ESPN+ has a ton of options and leagues on there themselves. Peacock just doesn't have enough to keep me streaming their services. If it wasn't for Newcastle I wouldn't even sub to their services. 

 
After this past week of International Break and WCQ matches, a total of 13 teams are already qualified.
In order of when they qualified: Qatar, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, France, Belgium, Serbia, Spain, Croatia, England, Switzerland, Netherlands and Argentina.

Africa is down to 10 teams for 5 slots.
Asia has 12 teams and 4.5 slots.
Europe has 12 teams and 3 slots left.
CONCACAF has 8 teams and 3.5 slots.
CONMEBOL has 8 teams with 2.5 slots left.
Oceana has 11 teams (ok, probably just NZ) and a 1/2 slot.

That's 19 slots left and 61 teams alive with 137 eliminated.
There have been a total of 756 matches (the first on 4/17/2019) and 2179 goals scored.

For years I have been lamenting that I am likely to pass away before the Revs get a stadium. Yes still in Gillette. 

Off the top of my head NE, NYCFC, Vancouver, Seattle and Atlanta don’t have stadiums. Next year Charlotte joins that group.

Seattle and Atlanta probably don’t need it. NYCFC and NE really need one.

Paderborn was probably going to be one of the next grounds I would have visited in Germany before insanity hit, having done all of the Bundesliga prior to Freiburg moving and half the 2. Bundesliga. Deliberately avoided it on account of it being what's sometimes referred to as an Ikea stadium nowhere near the town centre
