## OFFICIAL ## Taylor Swift thread (2 Viewers)

Got to give her credit for her real estate acumen. Apparently her stalkerish buying of a house across the street from one of the many guys to do her wrong, of course all guys do her wrong, the 18 year old Kennedy kid panned out. She flipped it for slightly less than a million in profit. Nothing wrong with that.

Taylor Swift continues her national magazine tour on the cover of Vanity Fair this month, and the accompanying story begins with a slight bomb: Taylor throwing shade at none other than Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. "Katie Couric is one of my favorite people," she says in reference to their Golden Globes joke warning Swift to stay away from Michael J. Fox's son. "Because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." There is also probably a special place in Twitter hell for people who square off against superwomen Liz Lemon and Leslie Knope under the guise of feminism. Katie Couric is like, why'd you drag me into this? (So is Madeline Albright, we'd guess, although Swift did not attribute the above quote to her in the article.)

Also of note: Taylor Swift would not talk about Harry Styles, but she did "authorize someone to discuss" him with Vanity Fair, which is a hilarious high-school move and totally Swift-ian. The source says Harry had a wandering eye, and disappeared one night in London, at which point everything fell apart. According to the magazine's reporting, Swift also did buy a house in Hyannis Port (next door to her other ex, Conor Kennedy), but she has already flipped it. Let the Hathaway-like shredding of Taylor begin (again).

UPDATE: Amy Poehler has responded in a typically classy manner. "Aw, I feel bad if she was upset," she told the Hollywood Reporter. "I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff."

That's a pretty good performance. I get why she annoys some people. But she seems to realize she isn't a great singer or dancer but overcomes it by writing catchy songs and knowing her audience. Much better than someone who doesn't write their music and is the product if some marketer.

 
I saw a photo of Taylor Swift kissing Keith Richards at the Chicago show. All the comments were along the lines of Keith needs to wash his mouth out after that. There has to be more negative history in her closet to generate that kind of hate.

YUP - EXACTLY......

Years ago I saw her with Stevie Nicks and laughed it off...

Now WITH A 5YO, Who gets bombarded with Justin Freaking Bieber and One Direction on Disney channels, Swift is "Fun"... We have a blast learning her songs on guitar & singing!!!!

She's actually pretty talented on many levels.....

But no, if you're an older guy with no kids you probably shouldn't be watching this stuff in the 1st place.... Bieber is the one I'd spend time attacking though - No talent Hack propped up and smothered with voice enhancers.

Not making an excuse for her but she is 5'10" or 5'11". Not many female singers are that tall and dance. The movement she did in that video is probably "new" to her and she probably hasn't done much "professional" dancing to being with.

she is one of the more polished cross over acts to come out of nashville in a long, long time. good for her. i don't mind her music and what she is promoting herself as over the past few years but i'm not sure it can last. i'm prepared to cut a 23 year old singer-songwriter-machine some slack though. she's not hurting anyone.

 
I have 18 and 21 year old daughters. They loved her for a few years. Very few artists/songwriters have connected with an audience like she has. She writes songs that her fans relate to. Bottom line. Props for that. Now they despise her. Mostly because they are One Direction fans (I'm just the Dad) and she invaded that turf. The serial boyfriend thing and writing about them is wearing very thin. Somebody's gonna write a song about her soon - that will be fun.

Teaching my daughter guitar to "Everything Has Changed"

Yet another (what I consider) a cool Chord progression... And what is music other than cool chord progressions?

Gotta find her a smaller guitar though.... She's happy just trying to strum all the strings and learning what Harmony means!!!!

Truth be told I'm trying to raise the next Taylor Swift so, I can just hang out in the tour bus as count the money.

#### her and her catchy tunes. Kids made me play her album on the way to the beach few weeks ago. Now I'm playing it on the way to work...in the truck...by myself.

I don't know about you, but I kinda feel 22.

 
IMO she's a 6, and since I don't listen to whatever type of music it is that she puts out, I think about her very little.

One Direction guys range from 19-21 years of age. Sorta seems similar to college age to me. My girls like all kinds of music by the way.
