yes, please splain??????I really, really, really despise Ron. It's gone from dislike to downright hatred.
I want this guy gone. NOW.
The thing with Buck was he knew that he could not let his guys screw around and caused unforced errors and add on more than the runs that the staff would give up anyways. Baserunning errors, and fielding errors continue to cost this thing not runs, but GAMES. His lineup cards must be done when he's downing 40s on his screened in porch. Pinch hitting Young down 0-9 for Vizquel had me literally throwing things. You pinch hit a guy that hits .400+ with bases loaded for a guy with 10000 bats sparing the world to death for what? 20 years now. What in the holy hell was that? He's letting Cruz and Byrd stay buried in this lineup. Buried. This. Is. Unacceptable. And this is stuff that just over the last weekend. There were equally absurd decisions in the Orioles series as well.Hey I have an idea lets sit Davis and give Blaylok some work at 1st. Great idea.texasheat said:yes, please splain?Captain Hook said:?????culdeus said:I really, really, really despise Ron. It's gone from dislike to downright hatred.

Somebody pleae explain to me why N. Cruz is not batting cleanup? Doesn't he offer the best protection for Hamilton at the moment? The thing with Buck was he knew that he could not let his guys screw around and caused unforced errors and add on more than the runs that the staff would give up anyways. There is some talent here and it will at some point make a run. Get Ron out of here before he finds a way to hold it back. Now.
I don't know. Hank Blaylock looks pretty dangerous with a bat right now.Somebody pleae explain to me why N. Cruz is not batting cleanup? Hard-throwing lefty. Those guys will get chance after chance. But I agree, CJ is teh suxor right now, I may have to unfriend him on Facebook.Ron tried his best to lose that game bringing in CJ last night. I don't understand why he continues to get chance after chance under this regime.
I think I have discussed Holland before, but my view of the situation is that they felt he was the most ready of the next group of pitchers to come up and throw STRIKES....something they desperately need both from bullpen arms and starters. The "plan" (given they don't stick to plan very often) is to have Holland pitch out of the bullpen, get accustomed to life in the Majors and be part of the Team..........yes at some point they will need him in the rotation and that is where his (fantasy) value and future lies......but they won't rush that. They just put Willie Eyre back on the DL and called up Luis Mendoza, who didn't make the team out of spring training (could have but just didn't)....but who had a GREAT start at AAA Oklahoma City (better than both Holland and Feliz),,,,,2-0 in two starts; 10.1 IP with 13 strikeouts and four hits, six walks, and NO runs. Unfortunately they plan to work Mendoza out of the bullpen as well - he has had some time up, and I don't think he is a reliever, so I think they would be better served to use him as a SP and see if he can deliver right now on what he showed at the minors (he was throwing at 97 with great movement and location). We shall see - they have a fouth game in Baltimore on Monday and then play six games in Arlington next week, so we should see both Holland and Mendoza get some action.I really hope that Scott Feldman who is due to start tomorrow in Benson's place has a good outing - he had made good progress and really looked like he might fare well as a starter in spring training and then they moved him to the bullpen - they are not doing him any favors with the back and forth and I think he would be better in the rotation, so hopefully he can maintain focus and release point tomorrow.............Derek Holland's first line: 2.1 IN; 3 H; 0 R; 2 K; 0.00 ERA42 strikes to 29 balls, sat at 91-92, hit 96 a couple of timesDiscuss.....
If he had Marty Feldman's looks, he'd be the scariest pitcher in the league. BALTIMORE (AP) — Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton left Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth inning with inflammation near the left side of his rib cage.Hamilton beat out an infield hit to lead off the fifth and appeared to walk gingerly for a brief time while conferring with first base coach Gary Pettis. Hamilton stayed in the game, later swiping third as part of a double steal and scoring on Marlon Byrd's sacrifice fly.Hamilton was replaced by Byrd in the bottom of the inning, and David Murphy came in to play left. What's up with JHam? Left with a strained ribcage?Cannot find any news
tapWhat do you do with Murphy at this point? He's out of options and would certainly be picked up by somebody needing a 5th outfielder and could play AAA till he gets his mojo back.I know popular fan consensus is to package him with CJ for a few AAA level middle relief arms, but I don't see a lot of teams giving up much for him. You can't sit him for any of the OF right now and with Hamilton not doing jack crap there isn't room for another gooseegg in this lineup.
Not going to go around bumping posts, but man Tex is working out just as well in NY as he did at any other stop. Guy with a huge head and empty numbers. He was so obscure here that he had everyone fooled. He didn't spend long enough in ATL or LA to be detected at the mega-doosh that we knew him for. I take great pleasure in watching him spare New York to death up there. Even if he's pulling in near AROD money doing so.
Would not shock me in the least if it comes out that Tex was the one that leaked the arod pitch tipping thing. Not going to go around bumping posts, but man Tex is working out just as well in NY as he did at any other stop. Could not happen to a better #####.And just for desert add in Milton Bradley's 0.116/0.296/0.256. In 16 total games.
Things you did not count on this seasonGood:The starting rotation being as good (average?) as they areMillwood = Cy YoungFrankie being perfect so farElvis holding up his end with the stick and not just the gloveMike Young hitting for powerBad:Hamilton not being Hamilton and also going on the DLChris Davis = Rob DeerDavid Murphy slumping as bad as he isI don't know if the good equals out the bad but there are some solid things going on with this team. These are not fluke 10-9 slugfest wins. They are close low-scoring games where are pitchers are having to get people out in pressure situations.I should say tap the breaks, but I am leaning on the gas.pgreenfan said:2010? Add McCarthy to the good. If he can maintain a sub 5 ERA, he could win 12-15 games. If he can tweak it down to around 4, he could win 17. /with this lineup behind him.Murphy is batting .350 over the last 9 games, so I think he is out of his slump.Things you did not count on this seasonGood:The starting rotation being as good (average?) as they areMillwood = Cy YoungFrankie being perfect so farElvis holding up his end with the stick and not just the gloveMike Young hitting for powerBad:Hamilton not being Hamilton and also going on the DLChris Davis = Rob DeerDavid Murphy slumping as bad as he isI don't know if the good equals out the bad but there are some solid things going on with this team. Both very good points. I can't believe I forgot about B-Mac. He is looking like he is studing everything Millwood is doing and then going out and trying to duplicate. The mentality of going deep into the game is sweeping across the entire rotation.God Bless Nolan.Let me add Holland into the good as well. His role as the long relief guy every 5 days is the perfect situation right now.Add McCarthy to the good. If he can maintain a sub 5 ERA, he could win 12-15 games. I would add Main and Perez in the mix if you had to name a top 5 untouchable. Kiker maybe.I think the Rangers will be smart at the trade deadline, and not spend the farm on a rent-a-player. If it is for anyone, it will be someone with contract left, or someone they can resign. It will be interesting to see how close they are come late summer.Who are the untouchables for the Rangers should they be in contention at the trade deadline? Feliz, Smoak, Holland? The one thing that makes me nervous about the good start is that it could put them in a position this summer where they think they have to make a move.
Done. Now you look for Padilla to do something similar tonight
