***Official Texas Rangers 2013 Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Berkman with a double last night and a hr tonight was nice. His power has been absent lately. Really hope he can string together a few more games with xbh's.

Best record in baseball. :excited:

@Oak, Det, Oak will be an interesting stretch. Darvish vs Verlander possible for Thursday. :banned:
I keep thinking this team just needs to tread water until everyone gets off the DL, but you can't complain with the results so far. Largest division lead by 4 games. They have played seven more games on the road than at home. +40 run differential.

Grimm and Tepesch will come back down to Earth a bit, but that's where you hope Lewis and Perez come in (and Harrison comes back). The bottom part of their bullpen is getting beat up (Lowe, Kirkman) but these guys are pitching in non-pressure situation, and that's where Soria and Feliz come into play in the second half.

50 games out for Cruz could be looming at any time, but I think at this point, they can make something work.

So Josh's equilibrium is off, huh? That actually makes sense, considering it's always such a delicate balance with that guy.

It's always something with Josh. JD and Nolan should high-five each other every morning that they didn't resign him. I will fully eat crow on my comments after his 4 homer game. That's why I'm not a GM.

His sinus congestion makes him sensitive to the lights at night games. His blue eyes make him unable to see during day games. When exactly would he like to play?

JD is a saber guy. It was said last year, but his contact rate was low last year. This was written in June 12

quote:

Put simply, we’ve never seen a hitter succeed in this fashion before. High swing rates and low contact rates are essentially a recipe for disaster. The only other batter over the last five years to swing at 50 percent of the pitches he was thrown and make contact less than 70 percent of the time he swung was Miguel Olivo last year, and he posted a wRC+ of 71. Danny Espinosa is very close to joining the club (51.9% Swing%, 70.4% Contact%) this year, and his wRC+ is 73. Clint Barmes (57.4% Swing%, 71.4% Contact%) could join the club if he whiffs a lot tonight, and his wRC+ is 23. Josh Hamilton’s wRC+ is 215. Josh Hamilton is destroying the American League with the plate discipline of a guy who belongs on the bench.

People read this article and pitched him differently from then on out. This is why Philly wanted no part of him. Just took a little time for the AL to catch on.

I am almost past the schadenfreude to the point of feeling sorry for the guy. Almost.

Slightly before dusk, 71.3 degrees, smell of hog dogs and freshly minted Bibles in the air.

Epic game tonight. Starts a pretty tough run in the schedule.

Where are Lewis/Feliz/Harrison at this point?

We have a better rotation on the DL than half the league has on their active roster.

Harrison / Lewis / Ogando / Feliz / Perez

With all of the good feelings about last night, do we worry at all about Yu going 130 pitches last night with a big lead?
