I already encountered the MD crew in teh sewers early on when I was trying to get the 4th book....I hope this $21K ring is after that, because none of the guys I killed then had anything that valuable....
It might have something to do with me being lvl 23 while doing it. I dont know if his drop is specific or random.

Its 35% reflect/50% resist magic.
probably random, as I didn't get one either (was probably lvl 16-18 when I did that quest)I did find a very cool ring of wizardry in a random dungeon yesterday though: fortify Alchemy/Alteration/Conjuration/Destruction/Illusion/Mysticism/Restoration 10 pts

How the freak are you supposed to get Magicka up so high? I have seen spells that require over 400 Magicka, and since INT is capped at 100 naturally, it seems pretty hard to get it up much more than that, even with racial bonuses.

Also, is there ever a time when you can add more than 1 effect to a magical item created? I see items in the game with multiples, but whenever I try to enchant an item, I only get one shot. :kicksrock:
Magicka requirements decrease as your knowledge of the spell's school increases.
Ooh, interesting. So as Destruction goes up, Magicka comes down? Nice.Edit to say any idea on the multiple enchantments?
The only thing I've been able to put multiple enchants on are weapons so far. You just have to have a big enough soul to cover it
In the last game the quality of the item also mattered a great deal. If the item was superb to begin with you could add more and larger enchantments.....I remember you could buy clothes that had different grades and different costs. Higher the grade the higher the cost. The best pants you could buy could be given a 12 or 13 constant effect strength bonus. The pants just below those may only give you a 7 or 8 constant bonus with the same soul....Sorry if this is a Honda, I haven't kept up on the thread today....

I have very few appts today, but between finishing my taxes and doing insurance billing, I have not even booted the game up yet. :wall:

Yeah, so far I've been enchanting with glass and daedric stuff. Has anyone found better than these yet?ETA: best jewelery I have tried is obsidian diamond rings.

As far as I know, the Daedric is the best #### you can get.
That's what i originally thought. was just wondering if I had missed something that enchants better. Fighting so hard not to look at faq/cheat sites. I want to complete this game on my own :boxing:

I got curious about "mods" for the game, so I did some homework and found two incredibly useful links:

Pretty much all you need here

One stop shopping

Good stuff here. The 2nd link pretty much incorporates everything I'd like to "adjust".

Hope this helps/enhances the game for us all! :nerd:

Noone using any of these eh? Guess I'm different... -fe
Different from all of us 360 owners anyway.....I do have the only mod pack available though (horse armor)

I hadn't seen those before. I'm D/Ling the full version now and will install some time next week. No goofing off for me this weekend. :sadbanana:

Is it worth it? $1.99 for PC.

No not all, but the 2nd link has a bunch that work well together. It makes a HUGE difference in the game. For the better, too, imo, and about 5,000 others. Take a good look at the 2nd link.-fe

I think it looks cool, though I don't think Shadowmere can die. It gives you elven or steel for choices, first is free, 500g after that. Still, $2 is cheap, especially if you don't have a horse that can't die

your right Shadowmere cannot die. One fact I discovered. Since Shadowmere cannot die the horse just gets knocked down after all its HP is gone. When the horse is laying on the ground it is just like a dead body so you can load up items on the horse and carry those items where ever you go. If you need them again, simply knock the horse down again and retreive the items.

Having played Morrowind on the PC I definitely miss the modding option with the 360 so I had to improvise

Well, now I'm a little irritated. I have been doing some reading on various mods and came across this little nugget of a mod.

I had no idea that the various quest items "level" depending on what level you are, when you do them.

That being said, there are 3 or 4 items that I have sold and no longer have, but had I known about this, I obviously would have kept them. :hot:

W/o this mod, though, it "forces" you to miss some pretty killer items along the way. Bummer, eh?

Well, it definitely encourages me to play this again now, though.

hehe -- no hate for you, glad you pointed it out or I'd have had no idea. I still gotta find something to transfer files to a 360. Its already networked w/ the PC, it can't take much

Well, just finished installing the various mods that I wanted. And OMFG am I liking it. I'll post a list of mods (there's a lot of them) that I am now going to use (ie. installed) and it's really simple to do. If anyone would care to hear about them and what I've noticed/how they help/change things, I'll post more about it tomorrow. Just let me know.

It's more aesthetic than anything, with a few exceptions, but no cheats or the like. Makes the game much better, imo.

Sorry you 360'ers can't get in on this. Really enhances the game, imo.

G'night.

I finally got my mages recomendations done and now I just got my Staff of Paralysis from the AU.

Also leveled up to 100 on Heavy Armour and Alchemy last night. Heavy Armour doesn't count as weight when you wear it (gives me about 80 more points of "carry space"), and now I can make potions out of 1 ingredient.

I guess at some point I'm going to try to leave my armour in my house in Anvil, although I gotta say the prospect of losing it is not very exciting for me.

Just got done installing the crosshair/sneak mod, but I think that's all I'll add for now.
That's the only one have installed. But I did download one that will allow a larger, scrollable world map, more inventory items on screen at once, and more spells on screen at once. Nothing that affects game play, just interface changes.

Another thing that is getting annoying is the length of the grass outside. Somebody should start mowing that ####. I know that bandit is using a magical two handed glass claymore against me, but dangit, my fireball knocked him back 30 feet and his sword went flying into wheat fields up to my chest and thicker than Mel Kiper's rug. After five minutes I find the body, but that sword appears to have fallen down a rat hole.

I know I saw some .ini manipulation to change that. I may need to hunt for that again.

One very minor gripe I have is that the phsyics engine seems to be a little agressive with downhill gravity. I've killed people and had their weapons roll away, or killed a bear and watched him roll 50 feet away from me, on what I'm guessing is a 4% grade.

I went over to a friends of mine that had oblivion last night and it was cool to see all the stuff that we had.

We spent about an hour moving dead bodies into different positions. It sounds dumb but when you have a dead legion soldier sitting up against some steps with his legs crossed arms extended with the "chill" pose it just makes you laugh.

Also just a side note: I don't think this is in the manual so I'm not sure if it has been discussed in the 14 pages of this thread. If you equip a weapon you can go to your potions and select a potion and an arrow or the tip of the sword will be dipped in the potion so when you attack that person those effects are applied to them. Again this may be old news but I found this out a couple of days ago and I would like to share.

Also - I am dumb :bag: My speed is showing Red - I was attacked by a person I was trying to kill in the DB missions and the spell has lowered my speed. I am a thief not a mage. How do I get rid of this crap? I didn't realize it at first since it does not show it on the screen like it did in Morrowind. I am guessing Dispel would work but that's just a guess.

Thanks

There was a bug in the last game that used to bug the hell out of me when I played a tank because I would be juiced more than Bonds with strength modifiers. When someone would hit me with something that would lower my strength that required a strength restoration spell to fix I had to remove every single item I had that boosted my strength to restore it properly. If I didn't remove the modifying items the strength restoration spell didn't work at all.....Not sure if it's the same thing since I'm not playing the new game yet. The new laptop has been approved by the brass, but they haven't been ordered yet :hot:

Depending on what it is, I would try dispel. Longshot would be cure disease / cure poison.

Yeah, since I got really good at alchemy, I'm a huge fan of throwing some nasty stuff in on my attacks...You can get like 6-way debilitator (ex, frost, silence, health, shock, silence, paralize) in addition to any stuff your sword has going on. Some of the ingredients you need for the really nasty poisons are:

Harrada

Ectoplasm

Frost / Fire Salts

Spiddle Stick

Scamp Skin

Fennel Seeds

and a couple others I can't remember. Always buy these and horde them when you find them. The poisoned weapon atack has helped me through a lot of fights.

Editing to add: There's also something remarkably satisfying about watching any enemy turn green and fall over like a statue in comical fashion while you continue to stomp the bejeezus out of them. :nerd:

I tried all three and it didn't work :hot: I am so pissed off I tried everything to get rid of the negative modifier to my speed but no dice and I can't get healed at the chapels because I am an evil character
