About 50/50 for me.Are most of the item finds from dungeon dives, or quests?
Yeah, I forgot about the water walking boots. I have that for my Redguard tank. Makes it nice to be able to just make a bee line for somewhere without having to swim.So far (Breton Mage) beides the items I got for doing Assassin quests, my "assassin's" chest piece (constant chameleon effect -- pretty sweet) For some reason I seem to find some nice boots too: Have boots of unburdening (something like that) that add an extra 50 on my weight limit. boots of waterwalking are pretty sweet too. What are your favorite items?
On my Redguard tank I have a ring of the night eye which is awesome. I never realized how many chests I was probably missing in some of these dungeons until I got it.
On my Dark Elf assassin I have a life detect necklace, which is very handy when I'm stealthing around. Although that funky purple haze is kind of annoying around town.
The ring of the nighteye was a dungeon dive. I don't remember which dungeon though. I know it was a cave though, not a fort. Are most of the item finds from dungeon dives, or quests?
Wow, never noticed that. Thanks.just an fyi...

There's more to Hackdirt than meets the eye.And you're not done whooping ### there.Has anyone run into Hackdirt? Messed up town, man. Had to open me a can of whoopass on them.
Are you referring to what lies beneath? Because I kicked their asses, too. There's more to Hackdirt than meets the eye.And you're not done whooping ### there.Has anyone run into Hackdirt? Messed up town, man. Had to open me a can of whoopass on them.

Are you using your maps? I couldn't play this game without them and fast-travel.So I got completely lost in the Imperial City, finally got out, wandered my way into Fort Ash, and am there now. All the while, all I wanted to do was follow the main quest! I just suck at finding stuff though...oh well.

Use your map. Also, the compass at the bottom of the screen will usually guide you to your quest's next "waypoint.' Take a minute to read the manual on the compass. You'll also discover nearby points of interest with the compass. Once you figure it out, it'll make the quests much easier.I love the fast travel options to quickly tidy up a few quests. Are you using your maps? Travelling was one of the main reasons I got tired of Morrowind. I never got good at jumping. So I had to rely on those bug-ships to get from A to B and then you had hoof it another 15 miles to get somewhere. I loved the quests, but taking 30 mins of gametime to just get to somewhere got very, very old for me.I love the fast travel options to quickly tidy up a few quests. Are you using your maps? Definately start. Anytime you walk past anything, you automatically get an entry for it on your map. Spend the time to learn how to access these and use the fast-travel...will make your life MUCH easier. No, havn't been using maps at all...I'm learning more and more though.

Outside of cities, you have to get close enough for it to pop up on the map. If you are near something that you've not yet discovered, you'll see a "bright" icon on your compass. If you get close enough to the place, you will get a message that you discovered X and it will then show up and the icon will be dark. Once you've discovered it, you can fast travel to it just by clicking on the location. Also get familiar with the close-up map for use in exploring dungeons and finding your way around town. How do you get along without that map?I had not taken the time to figure out the compass as far as helping you discover new stuff, though. I figured it was just telling you things you had already discovered. GOod info.Outside of cities, you have to get close enough for it to pop up on the map. It will be dead. Another monster may spawn but the first one will be dead. It may get looted by someone/thing else though. If you enter a cave or castle, kill an enemy, leave the cave/castle, then return....will that enemy still be dead or will it respawn'?
The carcass will disappear after X amount of time, but once you kill something in this game, it's dead for good. Most forts and caves are just that - forts and caves to explore and plunder. That's what makes it so cool and entertaining.I feel like I"m going around in circles in Fort Ash. There appears to be no more enemies left...is there anything here to find or am I just wasting my time?
Did you go as part of a quest or just spelunking? If it's a quest, follow the arrow on your compass.
