"The town needs Rick."

IMHO the town has gone to #### since Rick and his crew arrived.
It's true although in his defense the herd of zombies from the quarry were still coming and it was not his fault that Aaron left his packet of photos for the wolves.
Yeah, could argue instead of 10k walkers at the gate, there'd be 20k. Also, Aaron likely would have run into the wolves at some point, they were finding "W" walkers all over the place before he lost his pack.
Pre-Rick = Peaceful Utopia

Post-Rick - 1/2 the town dead with thousands of walkers at their gate.

Give me Pre-Rick
Sure but the point is the wolves and walkers were coming to Alexandria with or without Rick
There were a lot of ways to handle the quarry zombies that would have been better than Rick's zombie parade.

You forgot Future-Rick where he has incorporated a dozen new members into his group as they wander southeast USA.

And No-Rick where the entire town is destroyed by wolves or walkers

Maybe, but it doesn't matter. The Alexandrians wouldn't have done any of those ideas you can think of because they were blissfully ignorant of the massive walker quarry. That truck would have fallen blocking them all and they would have overran the place while Deanna was throwing everyone a picnic or something.

Another thing that kindof bugs me here is I know they beating us in the head with the concept that the town is a bunch of pansies who couldnt really take care of themselves etc. But with that fence why wouldnt they stockpile more food, gas, cars etc? Just seems like a huge plot hole imo. I guess the writers are excusing their ill preparedness on all of them being lame and weak, which in itself is also hard to stomach.

 they were blissfully ignorant to the threat of others or even the dead..

They figured they could get supplies when needed as they had been doing all along.. Send 3 or 4 out on a scavenge hunt, bring back food. people, etc.. Send next group out... rinse repeat..

I get that the writers want us to think that they are naive. But I think it's a little overkill to him them that stupid.

I have a difficult time believing EVERY guy in Alexandria is a pansy. The town has a bunch of big, tough-looking guys who we're expected to believe act like 12 year old girls when it comes to violence.

Just watched last 2 eps

As someone who has soured on this show the last few seasons.

I will say I really enjoyed the Morgan episode a great deal.

Didn't think I would but as someone mentioned above, I found myself liking and being really interested in the Eastman character.

While Morgan's character annoys the heck out of me now. I have a better understanding as to why he annoys me.

This last ep was just meh again for me.

I think I have just plateaued on this show.

Just seems like a lot of the same ol same ol.

I feel like in 3 more seasons we will be dealing with the same stuff with a few new characters and the loss of some old ones and a new location.

I'm still keeping my promise!

If Glen survived that zombie attack, I'm out!

That is getting a bit much. Not saying people wouldn't be bad at killing zombies with no experience, but they would have some experience.

Watching the new episode tonight. From what I read a couple weeks back I figured we wouldn't see Glenn for two weeks; did the previews for next week hint anything about him?

Hearing about the walls bleeding makes it sound like they are about to regret putting the supports on the outside.

Next week looks to be all about the Daryl clan.. so more than likely at least two more weeks... would not be surprised if they push it out to the midseason finale.

that Alexandra chick on Talking Dead last night was even hotter looking than on the show. Way hotter. Plus she's funny and smart

Maybe it has been suggested before, but I am wondering if they incorporate the Wolves into Glenn being alive? Like right before he was zombie chow, they showed up, distracted the zombies and took him captive. That would be more plausible than he rolled under the trash can.

My guess.. if he's alive.. someone shows up and makes enough noise to make them turn on them and Glenn climbs the fence.

Yeah, it would take awhile, but make something like a cinder block tied to a rope and just keep dropping it on skulls and retrieving it. There is no certainty that anyone is coming to pied piper them away anytime soon.
I was thinking about how to kill a lot of them. Fire is bad cause it would weaken the wall. Too many really for bullets.

Cinder blocks (if they have any around) or bowling ball or whatever on a rope is genius.

I was thinking spears... Spears twice as long as a man.

Only issue I could think of is no cleanup. There are thousands of them, start killing a bunch and they will start pilling up and possibly get over the walls climbing on top of bodies. Would have to kill A LOT of them for that to happen though.

Also, walls bleeding? I thought they were cracking? I must not have seen that quite right.
Walls were bleeding due to the walkers piling up and pushing to the wall squashing those in front, imo.

They need to get a vehicle drive up behind them and lean on the horn or play a loud CD to draw them away from the fence.
Problem is, they can't get outside the walls right now.

Although the tunnel where Aaron and Maggie went might have been a nice place to do that and draw attention there, and hope many walkers follow.

Not much creative thinking going on here. No i am not blaming the writers for that. I would imagine the writers would be able to think of those things, they just choose to not have the characters think of those things.

Right.

If not for Ricks group ALL the walkers would be there, and everyone would be dead form the Wolves attack (unless you wanna argue they never woulda found the place if not for Aaron finding Ricks group)

odds are the mid-season finale will end on a cliffhanger about Glenn.

Yeah, silly argument that Rick caused issues. His plan was working, just got unlucky from the wolves attack. Alexandria without Rick's folks gets killed either by the horde or by the wolves without much effort at all.

What was up with the leaking blood through the fence at the end? A weakening of the wall of some kind?

Maggie being preggo is bringing another baby into the show. Wonder if that will be the swan song of Maggie when zombie baby kills her in a recreation of Alien. That show will suck cause that will be the end of Maggie.

Lifting that thing up over and over again? I mean, seems like you may as well kill some of them, not like the zombies are going to change their mind and be cool or anything, but I dunno. Leading a few away at a shot, killing them with a longer range weapon still the play.

Wouldn't want to waste the bullets when the zombies are "contained" by the wall. The zombie fishing pole (cinder block) is pretty genius though. Catch a lot of zombies with that.

She could stick around if they went more with a recreation of one of the greatest scenes in television history.

Yeah was that meant the signify the walls are starting to crack?
I think so. But whose blood would that be?Was that the same spot where the cracker thief was watching guard?
i just thought it was a walkers blood leaking through
Yes I would think that it would be symbolic of the pressure on the walls from the massive number of walkers crushed up against it.
I thought it was cracker thief's blood. I was thinking maybe he committed suicide or someone with a sniper rifle took him out. I don't think it was walker blood because it looked like it was dripping down.
Yes, it was dripping blood. They did focus on that kid's knife quite a bit. Maybe he killed Skip (I don't know his name). Not sure why though.

Have the thing hang and just swing it back and forth. Not much effort, and they got nothin but time.

How do you lead them away when you can't get outside the walls? Completely surrounded

Yeah, dunno. Realistically, you're ####ed.

I imagine all the construction equipment is outside the walls. Just swinging around the backhoe would do wonders.

Whoever does it probably ends up dead though cause they will surely get trapped. Would be a nice episode though, lot of makeup effects.

There were a lot of ways to handle the quarry zombies that would have been better than Rick's zombie parade.
You mean the quarry zombies that Rick found that nobody else knew about? Do tell, what would they have done?
They could have said "thanks Rick for finding that quarry, but, your plan to pied piper them away is stupid." Then thought of and do one of the 20 or 30 plans we've already discussed that are way better.

I think you missed the point.

We were talking about Ricks group never having shown up, and how things went to hell after Ric..................nevermind

Walls bleeding could mean a lot, or absolutely nothing. Could be a bullet hole that a walker is bleeding through, or just a metaphor about how their once safe and neat little community is "hurting" or something.

Or a crack and the whole wall is about to cave, who knows.

Something I havent been able to figure out yet, but just how big is this Alexandria place? How many house? How big is the perimeter?

And if noise is some huge deterrent, there has to be a way to just get everyone to completely shut up in one of the houses or and throw something out there that makes noise for a few seconds to draw them in that direction. Damn firecracker or something.

that's the frustrating part of this entire show, the rules continue to change. Also after re-watching the episode ricks sliced hand seemed perfectly fine. Was this episode just a mash-up of stuff on the cutting room floor?

Rick cut his hand. He is fine. We knew that 2 weeks ago.

As for the rules, no idea what you mean about the rules changing

The show really needs to explore this more. I doubt they will.

You've got a town full of people... just rotate. Rig it to a pully system even. Its a ranged weapon you can use from the wall with unlimited ammo.

Long spears is a good idea too. Might be harder to rupture skulls from that angle though.

None of these is an immediate solution. It would take weeks to kill all of these zombies. But, they've got food stockpiled. They could get it done.

A snoozefest last night aside from the gory closeups of Deanna Monroe's face. By far the scariest scenes of the entire show.

Hopefully a zombie will eat the fat lesbian doctor next week -- I've seen more than enough of her.
it seemed the further into the episode the more she started to age. I thought she was a zombie at the end

wtf is wrong with her

also I think the curly haired dude is trying to bang Maggie in the sewers

What do we think that Abraham's word of the week with be in the upcoming episode? Since the focus will be on their side of the March of the Undead Soldiers, and you know something goes awry on the voyage, it is going to give them the chance to throw a classic Abraham guttershot out there.

They better not drag this #### out 3 more episodes...
