The Big Guy
Fear the Blitz
I am picturing a preemptive strike from Negan on Alexandria first.
Nah. Give me the current guy over Henry Rollins.modogg said:So i am watching an episode of Sons of Anarchy, and it got me thinking. I remember when Kirkman first wrote the comics, he came out and said that he designed Neegan based off of Henry Rollins (not completely analagous, but the basic idea). Watching Henry on Sons of Anarchy, he is an ok actor, i wonder how he would have been as Neegan. Of course Henry 10-15 years ago could have been real good, but any thoughts on if a different actor played Neegan how it would be?
Stone Cold Steve Austin?Nah. Give me the current guy over Henry Rollins.
That should bring the girl to guy ratio up to like 6 to 1. NOICE!NYRAGE said:I think Rick will return to Oceanside after the war with the guns and some other things that he takes from the Saviors. That will convince Oceanside to be part of their extended community in the post-War society.
Regarding the war against the Saviors. Negan does have a ton of people, but they are spread out in different compounds. My guess is that Rick attack's Negan's place first, then goes after the individual compounds.
how about Vincent D'Onofrio? or if you want to go way out there how about john malkovichStone Cold Steve Austin?
i'm jaded cause i read the comics before the show. In the comics Neegan looks like an old high school OL.how about Vincent D'Onofrio? or if you want to go way out there how about john malkovich
I read the comics as well, so I definitely had a certain image of on-screen Negan that I wanted to see, and JDM just isn't it. The bad thing is though that I was pretty excited when he was cast, and thought he would be able to pull it off. But his whole look and portrayal of Negan is just wrong to me. He's too skinny, he's too good looking, his smile looks too happy-go-lucky and not enough evil. He leans back and sways his body way too much. Just doesn't appear to be menacing enough, except for the kneeling in the woods scenes and when he's in the Sanctuary and about to iron someone (or throw them in the fire).i'm jaded cause i read the comics before the show. If he wasn't as famous as he is, I think The Rock could have pulled off the part with the right direction. I watched for nearly a season longer than I would have, waiting to see what they would do with the character. I didn't know JDM and thought he might be able to do the job but wound up really disliking him in the role, for all the reasons you gave. Gave up on the show after the start of this new half season. I might tune in for the war but I'll probably wait to hear about it first.I read the comics as well, so I definitely had a certain image of on-screen Negan that I wanted to see, and JDM just isn't it. Comics Negan just exuded evil to me, someone with a sadistic side. He's big, he's brutal, he curses every 3rd word. JDM just comes off as too damn nice. But with all that said, I don't have another actor in mind who would pull it off better. Maybe some MMA fighter turned actor that would at least be big and hulking, and look meaner than JDM?
Maybe not but the group of men that Simon brought to hilltop all looked to be big, tough military types. Rick better come up with a pretty good plan cause if it comes down to hand-to-hand combat these guys will make short work out of the Alexandria, Hilltop and Garbage Dump gang.I always assumed one of the best ways to attack Negan and the saviors was to use the walkers as a screen of sorts since it always appeared that Rick and Co were out-numbered so why not use the walkers to Rick's advantage. Now I don't know. Just because Negan has the numbers doesn't necessarily mean they all know how to handle the weapons they have.
Looking forward to the beginning of the war but not looking forward to the long wait for October for the next season.
Maybe not but the show desperately needs more if them. My hope is that eventually the group runs up against a new villain that has managed to create/alter the walkers into fighting machines. Faster, stronger, hungrier and harder to kill. It would make the show better IMOWell, "The Walking Dead" are NOT the "Zombies"![]()
I'm not much of a comicI think JDM does menacing extremely well. It's just that the writing for his character seems off. Since running into Rick's group, I think he's killed more of his own men than he has Rick's people. Carl attacks his compound and kills a bunch of people, makes buddy, buddy with him and returns him to his dad. Sasha attacks his compound killing people, and he tries to woo her to his side.
but I've read the Walking Dead up until about the midway point of this season and his character on the show is almost to the tee of his character in the Comics..Madsen could have been interesting. I saw a list somewhere a while back that recommended either Warburton or Kevin Durand, mainly just because of their size though since they're ~6'5" ish. I don't know if either one of them have the acting chops to do it.

Out of that list, I would most like to see Hamm give it a try. Now that I think more about it, Tom Hardy might have been a good one too. JDM is just not it for me. He's not big enough. I agree that he does play menacing pretty well, but those moments have been too few and far between, and it's offset too much by his swaying smiling one liner stupid jokes.
Bruce Campbell would have either been amazingly good in the role (of Negan) or amazingly campy in it.
Hardy's really only 5'9"? wow, wouldnt have guess that. I guess I'm thinking he was bigger/taller when he was Bane, camera tricks and all I guess. But Tom Hardy is only 5' 9". Jeffery Dean Morgan is 6' 2".
Definitely when he was a bit younger. Yep.I always thought Michael Madsen would be a good actor for Negan.
Darryl on the Talking Dead tonight? Kiss of death?Been a while since someone has died, based on my bad memory. Tara showed them oceanside, she still useful? I wouldn't mind if she got it this episode.
i kind of hope so. what has his character been/done since the story arc with Maggie's sister? if they don't know what to do, kill him. Sasha is guaranteed dead. pretty sure we getting 30 minutes of the close-up of her with the headphones onDarryl on the Talking Dead tonight? Kiss of death?
My thoughts also.i kind of hope so. what has his character been/done since the story arc with Maggie's sister? if they don't know what to do, kill him. Sasha is guaranteed dead. pretty sure we getting 30 minutes of the close-up of her with the headphones on
Good callAnyone thinking that the junkyard people are the ones supplying Negan with the info? Just getting this weird setup vibe tonight.
i was joking when i wrote the above. i didn't know this was why they needed to extend this episodei kind of hope so. what has his character been/done since the story arc with Maggie's sister? if they don't know what to do, kill him. That was a wtf is this #### moment but the tiger made up for it.So was this the action episode that you wanted or was the Sasha flashback with Abraham enough to ruin it all for you?
She's still roaming around out there no?It's a good thing that tiger knows who to attack. Damn smart tiger.
Even Ray Charles could see Sasha's death coming. At least she got to take out a savior as a zombie.
Nope, she had her come to Jesus moment. She's still roaming around out there no?
Hoping it gets back to the comics, which is a long drawn out bloody war. They can revive the show.I wonder what kind of filler episodes we'll get next season. Surely it won't be 16 hours of all-out war.
They will have to get Oceanside to add to their numbers, go after the junkyard people and what about Dwight? Seems like Dwight lived up to his side of the bargain, blocking roads coming in to Alexandria, so I think he is still in play.I wonder what kind of filler episodes we'll get next season. Surely it won't be 16 hours of all-out war.
