***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (2 Viewers)

the last few episodes were :headbang:

What a great way to end the season. The cliffhanger reminded me of how Game of Thrones left off with 'the walkers'. Great show. Glad I'm finally on board.

Lori is great. I don't see why people do not like her. She has a lot going on and she is the only one, other than Rick, who has to deal with a child and "family". Of the characters we have now, no other character has that issue and this is an issue from the old world, peaceful world. Her and Rick are unique compared to the likes of the others.
I agree with some of this but Lori also started banging her husband's best friend a week or two after she thought Rick was dead. She basically spelled out in neon letters that she wanted Rick to kill Shane and then got pissed at him when he actually did it. She also likes to take the moral high ground despite the fact she's essentially been a cheating w***e. I thought Andrea put her in her place rather well for all that. Again, I don't have a problem with the way Lori is written or acted. I think she's being presented as a very troubled, flawed character. She just happens to be real easy to hate because of it. :)
She was in shock, and got pissed only when she found out that Carl killed zombie Shane. In her mind, she may have been pissed about the mental trauma that would likely cause to her son.

Maybe she's pissed at herself for being completely unable to keep the little stone faced killer from wandering off into a zombie filled world all the freaking time.

I forget which character said it.....but I'll summarize. Lorie is a INSERT BILL MAHER WORD HERE who has not to deal with any real loss in this New World. Hell...her husband came back from the dead AND she's going to welcome a new child at a time when every other woman is losing a loved one. She has her husband who loves her, his friend who loves her and her son....and she just sits there like butter don't melt in her mouth.

I hate her hair too. I know she can't exactly make it to the hairdresser with this whole zombiefest going on but something tells me she was sporting that 1979 hairdoo before everything went south.

Well, this is small town Georgia we're talking about.

Agree with bigbottom, pretty sure Wolverine or 30 foot leaps aren't coming. Still haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet. I read the spoilers on the back story and it seems reasonable to me and it doesn't surprise me to see someone get good with swords, seeing as they are silent and don't need reloading.

Errol Flynn's swordsmanship? Remember Sophia is dead already.

This isn't the 1920s. No such thing as cultural isolationism any more. Even hillbillies have TV and the internet.

This character, at least the comic book one, has trainied in fencing as a way to releave stress during college so her sword skills may be more Flynn like than ninja

I must have missed the part where she ran up a bamboo tree. All I saw was someone decapitate a zombie.
:lmao: Agreed. Not sure where the superhero/CTHD stuff came from with what we saw. I can easily understand the zombie guards based on a good post earlier where zombies seem to retain some memory (black guy's wife kept coming "home") and the spoilers. It isn't supernatural in any way and would still be based on TWD comics/how their zombies work.

If zombies retain some memories would there be racist zombies who would only eat white people? What about gay zombies?

Dexter is and was one of my favorite shows...but it fell off a cliff this last season. The writing got sloppy and they tried way too hard to wow us, especially with a twist that EVERYONE saw coming.I'm just saying that there are certain moments in a show's storyline that can end up losing connection with the viewers and subsequently spell the demise of the show.Who knows...I may end up liking this character and it's story...but my gut reaction to it is:By next season's end, I expect to see a zombified Fonzie jumping a zombified shark for the finale.
I think it is perfectly reasonable that some sick stuff would happen to the zombies if earth really became a zombie world.Look at what human's do to other humans during wartime. pretty sick stuff. When inhuman stuff starts happening, humans tendto start acting inhuman. So the zombie pets, while pretty twisted, seems very much like something a human would do, if only to convince themselves that they are in control of a world that is out of control.

That is really dumb, IMO. I understand that we're watching a show about zombies, but they might as well just introduce Wolverine and Magneto next. I guess this is where I regret getting into a show based on comic books. I doubt that I will hang on too much longer if this is the direction they're planning to go in.

It's a show. . .about zombies. . .with people trying to survive. . .a zombie apocalypse. . .zombies. . .

Are you really saying that zombies are in fact a metaphor for social commentary? If only someone else had stumbled across this idea before.

Someone should make a movie.

Comic book nerds wanna explain the zombies on a leash thing?
:goodposting: with no arms
Bump.
A mysterious African-American woman armed with a katana, Michonne first appears when she saves Otis from a group of zombies. She used to be a lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia. She had a father, a mother, two sisters, a brother, an ex-husband, two daughters, a boyfriend, a mortgage, and a whole lot of other things. When the dead returned to life and began attacking the living, the first place Michonne went was her neighbor’s house. His son, a high schooler, was a sword junkie that used to cut up the fence between their yards, and killed their cat. Michonne grabbed one of his katana swords. It was easier than finding a gun, and it wouldn’t draw any attention to her. She had taken fencing as a child, and then again in college, and had gotten pretty good at it. Not to mention that it helped work off some of the steam of her seventeen years of college.Michonne herself had two zombies in tow, her boyfriend Mike and his best friend Terry. Both in shackles and having had their jaws and arms cut off, Michonne mentions that after a while they stopped trying to attack her and their presence decreased the chances of other zombies attacking.
 good spoiler tho

Also i remember these guys on the talk show saying that while the group is trying to figure out how to survive in this new zombie worls Michonne has already figured it out.http://www.amctv.com/shows/talking-dead/video

So why didn't Hershal ever suggest the prison to the group as a means to get them off his farm back before they all started playing house together and forgetting about zombies until Carl was mean and teased one?

#1 - Not the brightest dude.#2 - In the beginning he didn't care what they did as long as they got off his yard.

It's hardly worth getting your panties in a bunch over even if you're like me and never bought the explanation.

According to the wiki.....the timeframe for Season Two (at least the point from which Carl gets shot to when they leave the farm) is two weeks. A lot #### happened in those two weeks...so it might have slipped his mind. Plus up until the very end....they thought it was safe.

Super human abilities? It's a sword. People have been using them for centuries.
Like I said if she start doing some "ninja-backflipping-Kill Bill" type swordsmanship then I will stop watching.
Have you watched all the episodes? If so, wouldn't a sword make a hell of a lot more sense for that person than a gun?

There's a reason why the show is taking place in Georgia rather than Japan.

The whole premise of that character pretty much destroys the show. The appeal of the show to most people (I think?) is to see how regular people would survive and develop personally and with each other during the zombie apocalypse. Now we've got some lawyer chick who's handy with a sword because she used to fence back in high school (or some such nonsense)? Give me a break. Oh, and the mindless zombies who would stop at nothing for a piece of flesh? They're completely tame (and perhaps even subservient) for this chick, who is so super cool that you can't even see her face from under her hood. :rolleyes:It was fun while it lasted.

So that dude that had his leg impaled on that fence and then having it ripped from the fence like pulling an arrow out backwards...healed up enough to stand and deliver within that short of a time?

I'm in the same boat.I'll still watch but that character immediately killed it's credibility for me. Yes...I ####### realize that we're talking about a show based on a comic about zombies.I'm just saying, I never read these comics and it's a surprise to me that they'd take this story to areas which are completely unbelievable...again...yes...I realize we're talking about zombies...The appeal for me was real people dealing with zombie apocalypse.I'm trying to open my mind to her being able to "train" these zombies but I still don't see the positives behind doing it. You're carrying two chain dragging, slobbering, moaning zombies around...and you're trying to be stealthy? What about humans blasting your @zz? I can buy the sword...I'm actually ok with her having some serious sword wielding abilities...but the zombie pets chained to her ruins it. It's just too much. Some guys sitting around a table while discussing characters were like, "Black chick...she's gotta be someone who had made it in the world...lawyer...let's give her a sword, cause she's smart...hmmm...wait, she's gotta be a bad @zz with it...she studied fencing in college to pass the time....oh man, this is gold! Dude...how about zombie pets?! What? Yea...she's got her boyfriend on a leash. But won't it bite her? We can put it in a Silence of the Lambs mask. It's been done. Hmm...what about taking out it's teeth? Dude, screw that...let's take off it's bottom jaw. I LOVE IT! Wait...they can claw their way into stomachs. Cut off it's arms. Dude, won't someone wonder why she's doing all this to her lover? Nah...I'm telling you this is fantastic. Yea...she can use the zombie to float in and out of zombie hordes. Let's give her two then...that way she's covered on both sides. Perfect!"She doesn't have to have any "abilities"...I'm just saying it's way over the damn top ridiculous. But I'll hold out hope that I'll buy into it because I'll like the character. It's about time they gave us a likable female character but damn they went way over the top here.

Not having read any spoilers or the comic, I may have an idea as to why the swordsman leads those two neutered zombies around. If she sees walkers nearby, she pulls the prisoners close to hide her human smell. You can't see her face or body so it's difficult to tell even that she's not a walker. She's pretty much hiding in plain sight.
That was a theory I had as well. Not really buying the fact that they won't try to attack her though, even with no arms or jaw.
Didn't the black guy at the beginning of the series say that the zombies retain some type semblance of memory?
Whatever happened to that fellow? He seemed to play such a key role and he never met withRick again. I guess we should assume the worst?

I don't write it Brah. I just relay it. I don't know.....did the fence go through bone or must flesh? He was still limping pretty severely.

Wasn't directing it at you...more of the writing. I questioned it the episode that he stood right up and pounded on those zombies with little visible pain or issue.Others responded that there was "some time" in between him being impaled and being left to die that day. Looks like it was just a day or so.

WOW, a lot of over reaction on a character that was seen for 5 seconds. The days of going to Starbucks to get your morning coffee and read your iPad are long gone. It's the zombie apocalypse, the end of the world, you guys expecting normalcy? I would expect the unexpected, and welcome it in my zombie shows.

You guys need to chill. It's gonna be alright...

:goodposting: Some "the sky is falling" going on in here.

Dude...overreact to what amounts to a cameo in this season much? How about wait and see what happens instead of imagining all kinds of weird scenarios. As for the "guys sitting around a table" um...you do realize this is the creation of one guy, right? It is still based pretty heavily on the comics. I've read the backstory, and I won't spill it here, but while it is probably a little hard to believe given the intro, Michonne is a pretty normal character who happens to prefer a sword over gun or other implement of zombie killing. As to the pets...it's in the backstory, particularly as to who they are and why they are "docile" and it isn't worth the angst you are giving it. Wait and see (so will I, cause I am interested in if they follow the same course or not that they did in the comics from here.)

I still want a show based on reality (with zombies). If this turns into "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" with super human abilities then I will stop watching.
The whole premise of that character pretty much destroys the show. The appeal of the show to most people (I think?) is to see how regular people would survive and develop personally and with each other during the zombie apocalypse. Now we've got some lawyer chick who's handy with a sword because she used to fence back in high school (or some such nonsense)? Give me a break. Oh, and the mindless zombies who would stop at nothing for a piece of flesh? They're completely tame (and perhaps even subservient) for this chick, who is so super cool that you can't even see her face from under her hood. It was fun while it lasted.

Did you have any problem with some lawyer chick (Andrea) who makes 15 head shots in a row? Or a shotgun that never seemed to run out of ammo?

Of course it is. There's a ninja chick who fenced in college leading a pair of zombies around through the woods. I had been wondering what ever happened to Xena: Warrior Princess.
