***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (2 Viewers)

My complaints:

Just way too campy. If this show wants to be serious then they need to act seriously. Rushing in made no sense.

This show needs to be consistent with the rules. First they said the blood could infect and now they are rubbing the zombie blood off on their shirts. Whats that about.

Next I dont get the whole, we are surrounded by zombies. Just get in a car and drive through them. Also why arent they trying to find out more about the zombies?

They just keep rehashing the same storyline over and over.
Im pretty sure they must be starving at this point
Plus, Rick realizes the need for a safe place, with medical supplies for Lorie to haver her baby.

The only knock I have is they keep showing so many previews of future weeks that it seems a little disappointing when they show an interesting scene but it isn't from that nights episode. Wish they did a 2 hour season opener too. They should be to the point where they have the practice of assuming every body is a live zombie till they are sure.
The thing I didn't like about that scene is we've been led to believe that the zombies have no guile. Are we supposed to believe that one just happened to be asleep or have they started to bait the humans?

Rick almost got shot because people were taking precision shots only inches away from him. Why would they do this?
Because they are not soldiers and bad at shooting.
What evidence is there that they are bad at shooting? One miss in a seeming endless stream of kill shots. And I don't buy the argument that there were all sorts of misses that they just failed to show us. The way they shot that scene, everything appeared to be happening in real time.
I kind of think the pre-credit scene where they were foragin showed us that they had become a pretty coherent and effective unit; tactics, reading each other without making much noise and firearm and weapon proficency. Obviously, there's a bit of TV logic that they didn't miss but a shot or two.....but I don't think it's implausible that people spending a winter surviving a zombie apocalypse (and let's keep in mind we don't know how many had firearms experience in their previous life) would become fairly proficient in firearms rather quickly.

IIRC, that's explained a bit in the books.

Because they are not soldiers and bad at shooting.
They're bad at shooting, but they're piling up head shot after head shot?
Why show it? Again they don't show people falling a sleep or eating a whole apple. Did they eat the whole apple did he share it did he throw it away and get an orange? Your question and those like it are dumb there's no reason to show it. You KNOW it's happening right? You know how a gun works just like you know how to eat an apple. So why waste any time on it? It's silly.
Falling asleep or eating a whole apple takes as long as reloading?
Why is it kind of important? Does it add anything to the story if they show Carl coming across it in a gun collectors house? Or a police station? No it doesn't. He has it and that's what matters.
It's important because it's ridiculous. You wouldn't even find one at a police station. Why not just give them a flame thrower or maybe an RPG?
Nobody is saying that and you should have taken the fact when Rick said ammo is running low so they would have to use hand to hand. It's like you're looking for stuff to complain about and not paying attention to the show and the realism you so desire.
Ammo has supposedly been running low practically from day 1. Where are they getting more? Why is there always just enough ammo to get them through the next zombie fight?
Why? There's an archery store 2 miles from my house. Maybe the group hit one of those and he has a few hundred in the back of one of the cars. It's not out of the question and totally believe able. If I'm in the group I want a crossbow 9 times out of 10 over a hand gun for the very reason you can reuse the arrows.
It's totally believable that they can find an unraided archery store, but no unraided houses with reasonable food? And no offense, but if you've ever shot a crossbow and a pistol, there is no way you're choosing a crossbow over a pistol.
Come on what? You would rather watch people take dump, eat dinner, reload, stab hundred of zombies threw a fence, find random crap in houses and stores, take a bunch of shots and miss, if they have 2 cans of peas or 3 cans of creamed corn? Sounds like a really boring show. If you need to be spoon feed this information maybe The Walking Dead isn't for you. As for me I want the plot to continue to move forward. I know they have to reload. I know they will find random stuff along the way. By showing all that crap all it does is slow the plot down.
Maybe they should just find a tank with laser beams and then just plow through every zombie in existence. If you need to be spoon fed how they found that tank and how they keep it fueled up, then you probably want to see them taking dumps and maybe The Walking Dead isn't for you.

Please no, because then we will have dentist in the thread.

Look they already have Ninja Swords, don't give the writers any ideas.

For the millionth time...just because the show is about zombies doesn't mean it doesn't have to be realistic. The entire point of the show is "what would happen to real, everyday people if a zombie-o-clypse broke out? How would they survive? What kinds of societies would they form? How would it affect their sense of morality?" etc.Why not just forget about realism all together? Would you still watch the show if Rick had laser vision? Or if they found a wise-cracking, talking rabbit named Mr. Fartface? What if in the middle of every episode they broke into a Scooby Doo-like pop song montage? I guess it doesn't matter because it's a "zombie show".

Where did she get the Ninja sword? Why is it white? How does she sharpen it? Where did she learn to use it? Does she clean the blade before racking it? If so where is the bloody towel? Does she go through towels like a 15 y/o boy?

Sigh... it's clear you have totally missed the point. Since it's so important to you here is a video of a guy shooting and reloading a gun: Guy shooting and reloading.

In the future anytime someone on the walking dead shoots a gun watch this video.

This would be the catalyst for me to actually pay for AMC rather than watching online.

My DVR cut off the last scene a second after it started. Were those real people are zombies? TIA
Who are those people? How long have they been there? Do they have weapons? What crimes did they comment? Are they innocent? How did they survive? What happened to their family? did anyone visit them while in prison? This show is so unrealistic.

:goodposting: :lmao: The level of nitpicking in this thread continues to defy belief. It's a TV show, people. If you hate it this much - and it seems pretty clear to me that some of you definitely hate this show - then don't watch. The premiere set more basic cable records last night so it's obvious a lot of people do like this show. But if you don't, then turn the channel. It's really not that hard. But to keep watching a show you hate and ##### about how much you hate it makes no sense to me.

I for one have never said I hate this show. If asking simple questions is frowned upon because it pokes a hole in the "mask" of self deception necessary to enjoy the show - then excuse me and accept my most gracious apology; OR maybe it is fun to poke at it a little bit and enjoy it like a good zombie apocalyptic show should be enjoyed.

It's called "willing suspension of disbelief" and it's been around a long time. Some people can suspend more than others.

You are captain obvious today aren't you. I find that when you use complex technical terms then people often lose the context of you point because they are fumbling around for a dictionary or googling for help.

**Read with sarcasm.

Yes asking simple questions like why don't they ever reload, why do they only show when the zombie gets shot, where did Carl find his cool jacket are stupid. I'm all for talking tactics the group has used or plot lines, but the magnitude of the nitpicking adds nothing to the enjoyment of this fictional show about a zombie apocalypse or this thread.I guess I'm just a stupid viewer who doesn't care where they found a silencer. I care what they do with it, and where they are going; but that's just me.

The thing is, many of the "complaints" I see aren't major gaping holes in the logic that poke a hole in the mask of self deception or however you want to phrase it. I see most of them as extremely petty and minor things that in no way, shape or form prevent me from enjoying the show. If that makes me a simpleton in someone's eyes, so be it. I love this show and last night's episode did not fail to disappoint. If others want to harp on what I consider to be insignificant aspects of the show that's their right. At no point during last night's episode was there anything on even the most minute level that caused me to say "WTF was that" and ruin or hamper the episode. I thought it was a great episode and a great start to the season.

The opening scene made it emphatically clear that they've been roaming and ransacking for months. Carl pulling a can opener out of his bag was another way to emphasize that point. We don't need - or I don't need - to see every specific moment that happened in the months since the end of Season 2. It's clear they've been moving about and gathering supplies. At some point, Rick found a silencer. It hardly ruins the show's credibility for that to occur. Like you said, I don't need to see the exact moment when that occurred for it to be believable. It clearly occurred at some point and in no way does it defy logic for someone to believe it could have occurred.

I love the show. That doesn't make the yard clearing scene any less ludicrous. It's because I love the show that I even bother to point it out.Again, the way they shot that scene, it unfolded in real time. So I don't buy that we're supposed to assume that they were missing a bunch of shots and all the misses happened to be edited out. It wasn't portrayed as a montage.

That said, I don't have any problem with the other stuff (reloading, sliencer, etc.).

Except at the end of the last season they showed the group was about a mile away from the prison when they "zoomed out".Guess they wandered in a circle for a few months. ;)

I didn't find it ludicrous. I thought it was an example of what a strong unit they've become. At the end of last season, they were broken and on the verge of splitting apart internally. In the months since the RickTatorship began, it's clear they've forged a stronger bond. The way they cleaned out the prison yard was an example of that. Like I posted before, in this world you either adapt or die. This group has adapted. They've become efficient killing machines with Rick as their leader.

I'll have to re-watch but I believe during the conversation at the car they made note of that didn't they? Didn't someone say they're starting to go around in a circle?

Cutting the farmer's leg off unnecessarily didn't bother you.He had a bad bite but wasn't anything worse then the gun shot wound on Carl, remember no chance of infection (they are already infected).

If you get bitten you die. Rick made a quick decision to try and prevent the disease from growing and hopefully saving Hershel's life.

I believe they explored this in the comics. Thought I read that somewhere. It also sounds like they will explore whether Rick's decision was the right one or not. So it wasn't some random moment designed for shock value.

Although it was pretty damn cool.

I guess I'm just a stupid viewer who doesn't care where they found a silencer. I care what they do with it, and where they are going; but that's just me.
Actually, it seems they figured out how to turn a flashlight into a silencer. Looks like a Maglite to me.Screenshot I took of my TV:http://imageshack.us/a/img534/2749/silencer2.jpg2 shots of Carls silencer:http://imageshack.us/a/img822/108/kid1.jpghttp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/811/kidt.jpg/

By cutting his leg off Hershel he now going to bleed out, and if he doesn't then that is another BS moment.

Are you nuts fighting over realism in a zombie show?

 Message from Mr. Fartface
