***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (5 Viewers)

:excited:

Helluva way to kick off an episode.

Is it on right now?
Yes, but I'm not in the US.Unreal episode. :jawdrop: after :jawdrop:
What parts were jawdrop? I thought it was a pretty bleh episode. Not digging Michonne at all. Possibly worse than younger Carl as a wooden actor. Couldn't even decide which leg to limp with. Supposed badass with a blade gets beat in a knife fight with a dude with a bayonet on his stump? Same guy beats two people already drawn on him and ready to fire? A lot of "just buy what we're shoveling you" crap tonight. Best parts were Rick alone with the phone. Very well done how his resolve to move on turned the other end to static. Then he was amazingly clean...Would've pronounced this series best of all time if Daryl leapt into the cell and stabbed still-living Carol (who everyone and their mother knew was in there) in the face. Accidents still happen in zombocalypse. Two meh epsiodes in a row for me. Sucking us back into the familiar awesome-buncha crap-awesome routine making us still want to watch it despite being fed up with the entire middle.

Oh, and bow-teacher? Shot that thing like a 10 year old Ralphie playing with his BB gun. I had a little plastic one when I was a kid, she looked a lot like a toddler whose never shot one before.
with a shot like that she shouldnt be bragging about how she was going to the olympics for archery

It amazes me how every week they make Andria's character even worse. She was so good in the comic...The way they tied the two groups together was great, especially with Michonne, gonna be a good episode next week.
VERY :goodposting: on both points. When Andrea and the Gov went to his room and started yapping, I switched to the game and Amazing Race and kept checking back until the scene was over.. Loved the way Microne found out that if you stink like one, they leave you alone.. and Ricks  look seeing her standing next to the Zombies was great.
i wonder if she started speaking the zombies would attack

Most of the whining and complaining in the universe is contained within this thread.
And yet you're whining and complaining about it.
I dont complain or nitpick shows I religiously watch, which is what a lot of people do in here. Why some people still watch is beyond me.
It's not possible to watch and enjoy a show yet still find fault with it?
To the level of dooshbaggery in this thread? No.
You mean to say that this thread is ruining your viewing experience?
No I'm saying this thread doesn't add to the experience like a show discussion thread should. That's okay though, I dont need to click on it.
Maybe we're just ignorant and don't know how show discussion threads should add to the experience. Or maybe we've got a lot of cynical snarky dooshes on this board. That's my personal category.

What should we discuss besides the gaping flaws in order to add to your experience?

You guys think there are zombies in New Zealand?
No chance. Zombies are terrible swimmers. They wouldn't make it 3 miles from Sydney.
nemo rode the currentzombies can ride the current too
Do zombies float? I've seen other movies where they just walk on the bottom.
This is what WWZ refers to.
Dead bodies usually float at least early on right? They must be older or have a full stomach. ;)

Given the Lori discussion I think we can safely assume the reason why Shane and Dale didn't call Rick with the others is because neither one of them is really dead.

:goodposting: We didnt actually "see" Daryl shoot Dale. And unlike the Lori incident, Herschel had a bunch of bandages and stuff to fix Dale right up. I'm thinking Dale shows up at the prison soon.

I think I covered this in that thread about what we need to survive the zombie attacks in real life. I think with all of the bottom feeders, trenches, mountains, etc. there is no way a zombie would be able to make it from one continent to another. Maybe some small islands close to each other, but not long distances.

Not sure if this was mentioned but I thought it was very cool that the voices Rick was talking to on the phone were many of the cast members who have been killed. Not just Lori, but Amy, Jim and Jacqui. Andrew Lincoln said on "The Talking Dead" that all of the actors who played those characters actually called him on phones for the scenes so he was directly talking to them. Very cool.
No T-Dog. :lmao:
No Shane or Dale either.
Dale would have just been all indignant about something, anyway.
"You didn't have to shoot the walker that ate Lori, Rick. Did you even bother to ask it to regurgitate her?"

yeah, what was it that got his attention so quick and got him to draw his gun -- a black person?

Pretty cool news!

Not a spoiler if you have read the comics.
Nice!He looks a lot closer to what I thought Tyresse would look like then the guy who plays the Governor.
He was good in the Wire, it's nice to see someone that can act come aboard!
Cutty! Well, it's kind of a show spoiler since we now know the current black guy is gonna die.

Don't open unless you've read the comics:

Yes, Daryl dies in the season finale while saving Rick's group. I found spoilers online.
Um, I don't think Merl and Daryl are characters in the comics at all. Maybe you should just say don't open unless you're okay with spoilers?

Spoiler, while a spoiler, has nothing to do with the comics.Yes, that was in really poor taste to label that spoiler as a "comic" spoiler, as it had absolutely nothing to do with the comics. I don't mind the spoiler being posted, but the post should be edited to say it is spoiler, period, with no connection to the comics, as there are many comic book readers like myself that still don't want the TV show spoiled.I clicked on it reading the comics, yep, that sucked. :goodposting: Thanks a lot Borat.

Didn't like the episode, mostly because I don't like the direction the show is taking. Wanted to see a show about people trying to survive the zombie apocolypse. Instead, like every other show or book I have read/seen of this ilk, it starts trending towards the few remaining humans in one group trying to kill all the few remaining humans in the other group. At least in a nuke war or meteor impact movie, I can kind of buy it. Limited resources remaining, scarce food and water, only a little to go around. Can make sense. But in this case, seems to be ample supplies. Can grow crap, the soil is still fine. Yet here we have a bunch of folks that just want to kill everyone they see. Just strikes me as such lazy writing. Pretty soon, the title will need to be changed from Walking Dead to Dead Men Walking. In the end, I don't want to see men fighting men. I want to see men fighting zombies.

This show was always intended to be a show about what happens after a 'Dawn of the Dead' type movie. You can only wring out so much drama from the zombies.

I think the show is ten times better than the first two seasons. It is finally hitting it's stride.

That's actually the meaning of the title.

Huh?
He's calling out the absurdity of someone needing to see each person killed and buried before believing they are in fact dead.Lori is dead...at best, she's a walker...and that's awesome.Anything else and show is dead.

The phone call was pretty much the final confirmation

Ah, yes, that seemed pretty ridiculous. I don't need to see the bullet entering the person's head to know they're dead.

I hated that guy. Shane would've just told Rick how he needs to look after Shane's baby.

:goodposting: they aren't. at least not through issue #103
That was a ####ed up thing to post if true.Glad I didn't open it. I'd be pissed.

Yeah, the Gov and Andrea flirting :X , other than that pretty good episode
Agreed, solid episode and looking forward to the next few weeks. Didn't need the flirting, was so uncomfortable to watch. Wasn't real fond of Merle pulling the gun on Maggie and Glen either. I know it was a means to an end, but neither of them shoots when they already have their guns drawn? Merle may be fast, but based on what had happened before, Glen should have shot first.
i think that was the point. it was showing that Glen is not at the level of some of these other guys who can kill another human in cold blood. and i think we have to see some people die with the finale, and i won0der if darryl may bite it. they have taken his character far, and it seems Rick and him are going to get Glenn and Maggie. i can see something where darryl has to choose between Rick and the governor's group, and Darryl ends up sacrificing himself to help Rick's group out. i know they played that card already with T-dogg, but it seems like a natural progression for him
Hush yo mouth!
Daryl better not die!

Problem is...the phonecall is only within Rick's head. What Rick perceives to be dead.Lori could be alive...it would kill the show but it still is technically possible within the framework of tv shows.

We didn't hear Shane or Dale because they have prominent voices that would've been easily recognizable from the first syllable.
