So hey, jumped back in because you can't get away from this show. Got all caught up from end of first season on. Its pretty good but still way too cheesy in spots. Like last night's episode. Everything about Andrea was just B movie level. Run into the woods, close cam, bam zombies. Governor chases you to the spooky old warehouse. You escape but don't take his truck. Get caught just before you get to the prison. Dumb girl.

Anyway, I'm interested. The governor is a much more interesting character than Shane that's for sure. Should be a good final two eps.

I know it's bad form to come into a show thread and #####, esp when you are new to the show. That being said this season isn't good.The first season was about "the zombie apocalypse" and the immediate triage of what happened. It also set up some rules of the new normal.The second season wasn't all that far after. The group was still figuring out what happened. They were still trying to find a new home so they could start the process of starting over. Sure the show had some drama between the two alpha males and you had the dichotomy with the Farm group. But more or less the show was humans trying to survive zombies, setting up a food water shelter supply and starting over.This season has been two factions at War with each other....... why exactly? The whole focus has changed from a show about surviving the zombie apocalypse to a war with one eye willie. Sorry.... lot came off the old fast ball this season. Nobody is worrying about clearing out the zombies out front of the jail. Nobody is worrying about food/water/medical supplies. Nobody is worried about getting electricity back up and running. We got a war with some dude that nobody gives a crap about.

This is pretty common plot evolution in apocalyptic fiction. Maybe it's not for you.

Much bigger fan of Shane. The Gub comes off as unbelievable to me.

The bad casting of the governor continues to snowball, getting worse. I just don't believe this guy.

I guess I'm one of the few that finds him very believable. I could easily see some average guy, middle-manager type becoming like him. I find his character far more interesting than the one in the comic.

Haven't read the comics but I also like him. I thought he was terrific last week in particular during the scenes with Rick.

well, in the comics is is even more twisted and at first I was having some issues comparing Comic Book Guv to TV Guv.... that was until The last couple weeks when the TV Guv has morphed nicely into the disturbed Comic Guv.. The torture room, especially the scene with the Rings at the end of chains connected to poles was and the TV Guv, IMO fits the role nicely

It's really unfortunate that our protagonists not only got caught up in a zombie apocalypse, but in one where everywhere that turned into a zombie was a ninja prior to the turn.

Andrea walks up to a tree with the camera out far enough to see that there aren't any zombies super close to her. The ground is a bunch of crunchy dead leaves which, as we all know, are really loud to walk on even if you're trying to sneak around (which zombies aren't). Somehow she doesn't hear a zombie crunching on these leaves to walk up right behind her (maybe she was listening to her ipod and we just couldn't see the headphones?). Then, we see two zombies enter the frame at about 6 feet away from exactly the direction she was looking the whole time.

Same thing in the warehouse. We hear how loud Andrea's footsteps are even when she's trying to sneak around, yet the zombies keep creeping around corners without anyone hearing a thing, even the same governor who somehow had the keen sense of hearing to hear a bucket in a warehouse fall over while he was driving around in his loud ### truck.

At least we found out what the Governor's day job was prior to the zombie apocalypse. Bear hunter. That explains why he was able to track down Andrea out in the huge wilderness not once, not twice, but three times.

I like Shane more as a character but I agree the Governor is a deeper and more complex character. There really wasn't more to Shane than met the eye.

If i had to make excuses to make all those things more plausible,id have to start with the zombies were ''resting'' as we have seen them do in other episodes .Im guessing they were sitting against trees right near where Andrea stopped in the woods and just kind of popped up . Then id have to say that there is only one way to the prison if you stay off the roads and the gov`na guessed right...3 times haha

That is a real good point. I happened to watch some of the black and white ones and I remember them dropping him off. I do recall the zombie flashes and he wasn't dead yet. I have it DVR'd and I'll see if I can check it again.

This season has been awesome imho but sunday night's episode was terrible. Soap opera terrible...i was half expecting the guv to reveal that he is not actually the guv but his evil twin.

That was episode 3, correct? When a zombie somehow got a significant bite on Jim's chest without harming his shirt?They were leading us down the "bite/scratch = turning" path in the early stages of the show. Things have changed since then, which some here haven't seemed to notice.

McFarlane was promoting his wacky theory on the Talking Dead that Milton was an evil genius controlling the Gov. I think that's ridiculous but Milton knew Philip prior to the ZA and may have been part of his original group. It seems possible that Milton was the brains and organizer behind Woodbury while Philip took the leadership role. While Milton keeps in the background I think he has a much larger role than is being let on.

While I am assuming a scratch might not always lead to death, i.e. there is something that has to pass from zombie to living to "infect" them which always happens in bites. With scratches, I assume that you have to draw blood from the living and pass the "virus". If you are in a death match with a zombie and they scratch you, chances are you will be infected bad enough that you will turn.

What virus? The one that everyone is already carrying? We're still worried about being infected with that?

We have no idea what "it" is or what zombies "pass" to us when they bite people. Every single bite on this show has turned someone, so again, there is something that zombies infect people with that causes them to die. I didn't say the virus that the zombies infect living people with is the same as that which reanimates them. Obviously, everyone on the show has the reanimation virus and it doesn't kill them. That said, do people live after being bitten (without amputation to stop the infection from spreading)? I am pretty sure we have not a single shred of evidence that someone bitten didn't die with a bite, again without a timely amputation. I've been watching the show, I understand the difference between death and reanimation. Feel free to show me an example where a zombie doesn't pass something to the living in a bite or deep enough scratch to kill them.Remember Jim's bite mark? Pretty sure that if Dale bit him like that, Jim wouldn't have died. So, the zombie bite passed something, possibly a virus, that killed him. That was my point.

Nope. It has been pretty clearly established that the bites cause you to get sick and die due to a regular, but very virulent, infection (not ZOMBIE INFECTION) caused by the extremely dirty, bacteria-laden zombie mouths. Scratches could cause you to die (and then turn) if they got infected as well (again, not ZOMBIE INFECTION). Whether a person dies quickly or not is pretty much on their immune system. The writers may take liberties in the sense that "e-coli" wouldn't kill in a few hours, but I can live with that. Everyone carries the ZOMBIE INFECTION but it is inert until death, at which time it reanimates the corpse. So far it has varied in how long reanimation takes.

There isn't a "second" virus that activates the first, they are all carriers, if they die, they become zombies. They don't need to be scratched or bitten, they don't slowly turn into zombies - they may slowly die, but then they come back.

Cannot believe how dumb some of you guys are...no way was Morgan the one who burned the zombie pit. You guys try way to damn hard to make this show more than what it is...it's zombie soap opera...and not a very good one at that...at points.

This episode was chocked full of ridiculous. Govnuh and his super powers...Andrea and her incredible stupidity. But it is what it is...it's the only zombie show on television...so I don't have a choice but to keep watching.

I truly wished someone like HBO or Showtime would take on the zombie genre and put real good writers behind it...like the guys from The Wire, Game of Thrones or Breakin' Bad. I realize we're talking about a zombie show but damn...we shouldn't have to ignore so much stupid crap.

On a sidenote...the Gov's henchman starts talking mess to me about "taking up knitting" and I blast his @zz while he had both hands on the rope and toss his body in the pit.

I'm blown away by the number of people who have so much time on their hands they spend it watching a show they don't like.

I don't think tdoss said that, but I also don't think tdoss gets the sarchasm. Maybe there were a couple hamster_13s when Lori first died, but I am pretty sure every comment about Lori being alive this season has been a joke.

You just summed up 90% of the people in the FFA...go into ANY TV Show thread and it's just insane at how many people do this.I always enjoy the Lost thread...some people spent years doing this...
