Michonne stabs the Guv in the chest, stands over him and walks away... Leaving not only the Guv laying there, but Rick also..

Possibly she returned to her selfish ways.. but after the way she had been getting along with the group and Rick you'd figure she'd at least help Rick get to safety.

IIRC there was still plenty of fighting going on. At that point, Rick didn't appear to be in immediate danger and he made it clear he wanted to go find Carl. I used Michonne went back to join the fight/help others.

Because he knew that Herschel was more important to Rick and the group then Michonne. Taking out Herschel had the affect he wanted, the group shooting and an all out battle.Taking out Michonne would have been upsetting to Rick and the group, but pretty sure they don't open fire as there wasn't a personal tie to her as there was to Herschel.

I can't recall if 2, 3, 5 and 6 teamed up at all or had the chance to team up. Pretty sure 1, 3 and 4 were completely separate from anyone else, but 2, 5 and 6 could have easily gotten together even if we didn't see it because they left after the bus, but before Rick found Carl.

Maggie is with Bob and Sasha. Beth is with Daryl.

But she wants to be with Rick.

There's still half a season left for that. Now that Herschel is out of the way, there's nothing stopping Rick from planting a new seed.

I think One-Eyed Bri knew that killing an old, one-legged man would have a much more powerful effect on Rick than killing Michonne. He got the reaction he wanted. He wanted to push Rick into a war and that's what happened.

Yeah I thought that scene was well done and well written. Rick finally displaying the philosophy Herschel yearned for, the Governor sensing the potential turnabout in his army, the realistic chop to Herschel's neck. Pretty brutal battle for TV when you think about it. You have a kid shooting an attractive lesbian female (who really wasn't portrayed as a bad guy), Daryl killing the army dude in cold blood from a few feet away, a potential baby being eaten I agree that some of the writing/continuity issues are glaringly dumb, but this show shares some of the fearless writing of Breaking Bad, Wire, etc.

The group was, until the guv arrived, a peaceful group just trying to survive. Most probably hadn't shot anything but a stumbling zombie in their life.

Agreed. I posted the same thing above that with the tank just popping shots off randomly (the tank guy was kind of an idiot), the rest of the crew was downhill and not protected at all. Not surprising at all that they took the worst of it. Also, with Martinez, the dead other military brother and the brother in the tank, I would bet the rest of the crew was totally inexperienced. Remember the Woodbury crew turning tail the instant they were fired upon? Andrea made their Woodbury regulars look like crap at Woodbury. The governor got rid of the best guys. The only one with experience that we know of was the lesbian and she made it all the way inside and stopped because she saw kids. The tank guy got taken out by Daryl, so they did make it to their objective, just didn't finish well.

By the way, they shot Rick, shot the medic, shot Tyrese and killed that one redshirt with the rifle. They may have killed more redshirts, but no one in the main crew.

Just curious. When the walkers came into the prison yard at the end, one of them was the chick that Rick had met in the woods, wasn't it?

They definitely slowed down on that walker and she had a similar jacket I think.

Daughter and I looked at each other and asked "Are we suppose to know her? " then decided it had to be the woman in the woods that Rick met.

I thought Kirkman confirmed this on Talking Dead?

He did. It was the Irish woman from the woods.

Cool, I thought the exact same thing when they panned in on her for a while.

Also, for those keeping track, I believe this may have been a historic battle as not a single black person was killed. I feel bad for old T-Dog. He has got to be pissed at how many speaking parts Tyrese, Bob and Sasha are getting. I am pretty sure that Sasha and Bob's scene had more words than poor T-Dog ever got the chance to speak.

That is sort of the way I am leaning. It is plausible for that to be the case and a strapped in baby wouldn't be that easily eatable and the car seat sure would look a lot worse and not still be perfectly upright.

Was that bearded guy with the rifle black? I couldn't tell for sure. He was definitely more useful than Tyresse in that battle. They should have introduced him earlier so his death had at least a little impact. Like Oscar and Axel.

Not sure if Judith is alive or not, but I am leaning toward her being dead.

If she is alive, she is going to make it tough on whoever has her with them. It's one thing to have a baby in the relative safety of the prison, but it's quite another to have a crying baby to deal with when you are on the run.

BTW, there was some discussion about Carl's progression over time. I must admit that I was not a fan of his earlier in the show and was wishing he would have been a zombie snack, but he has grown on me. I find the character much more enjoyable now and I am interested to see his development as the second half of the season continues. I have a feeling we will be seeing at least one episode of just him and Rick surviving on their own.

OK, so re-watching the scene from the link provided above, Tyreese never gets shot.. So couldn't be his blood.. Still don't think there is "a lot of blood" and it certainly seems like the belt was unbuckled as it looked like the buckle was still attached to the belt.

Pretty brutal battle for TV when you think about it. I thought what Daryl did was to wound him so bad he couldn't get away, allowing the walkers to get him. Which is even more bad a** in my opinion

The whole gunfight was pretty absurd. I enjoy the show as an unintentional comedy with zombies at this point. Mud zombie was funny.

I don't understand what you're saying here. Why wouldn't it be attached to the belt? Unbuckled=one of the group removed Judith from the carseat, while somehow soaking it with blood. Only makes sense if she took a stray bullet.

Buckled=straps and buckled intact, baby eaten by a walker while in the seat. Once partially eaten, any remaining body parts could be removed with the seat still buckled. They just can't show this on TV.

Note: the condition of the carseat was nearly identical to the one T-Dog found back in season 2 IIRC. That baby was assumed to be eaten as well.

Meant the hanging belt in front of the seat seemed to still have the buckle attached.. aka, someone unhooked it to remove the baby..

Whereas if a Zombie had attacked/ate the baby in the seat either the belt is still hooked, or it is "ripped" off, not unhooked..

I'll give you this. But they can still be under duress and hit that head shot almost every time.

I didn't get the impression Brian's group was supposed to be well trained in terms of combat. Looked like a rag tag group who just went along with his plan. Not surprised they weren't able to land a lot of shots. I would expect the prison group to be more well trained even if they were at a numbers disadvantage.

As far as the battle itself, the main character was wounded, his child may have been eaten, another main character was beheaded, the main villain of the past season-plus was killed and a little girl he had grown attached to was attacked and killed. I don't think there was a shortage of bloodshed in this episode.

This is kinda where I'm at with the show.

I don't really care much about any of the characters. Don't care who lives or dies. And now I'm getting bored with the zombies. The action is usually cheesy and there isn't much real horror. Hopefully it gets darker when it comes back.

I think the rat in the box is from a science experiment and holds a key to the cure. The doctor guy might think he has a cure but needs more evidence. And, I think Carl is done with Beth. He's going to go after Little Carol. She is his age and she doesn't know about his immaturity before. She sees him as a bad wanna be sheriff. He is going to be hitting that.

2. Michonne cuts off zombie heads right and left with her katana but it takes the Guv 5 hacks until it comes off. Technique must be everything

3. They want to use the prison for themselves but basically tear the place apart to take it.

4. Rick is hiding behind an oil tank or something like that and the Guv's people just walk right on by it without looking at all.

5. Why the hell is the tanker shooting at buildings and not at the people shooting at the Guv crew? So idiotic.

We constantly see Walker heads squished and squashed far more easily than a living human head would be. That's been the case since the series began.

As far as No. 3 goes, I think that points to the flawed nature of Brian's plan. He clearly hadn't thought it through or just didn't care (this is likely the case) that destroying the prison would go against the whole "Let's find a safer place to live" idea. I don't think he ever wanted that. He wanted revenge and he wanted to inflict as much pain as possible. Finding safe haven was his line of BS he was using to string his followers along.
