So...a ragtag group of guys break into a house...dude sees a guy under the bed...gets choked out...another guy is killed while taking a dump and this group is going to be cool with it?

They just say, "Oh well?"

How does that make any sense?

And seeing as how everyone in this post apocalyptic world can track the flight of a butterfly...you have to assume these guys will be coming after them.

How many of those guys were there anyways? I was under the impression of there being 4 of them (5 at the most). So that would leave 1 or 2 left.

You're assuming any of them get out of the house alive. There's one walker and probably two inside with them now.

Not sure if this has been brought up or not, but I was trying to calculate where they were when the "smart guy" killed the truck. Tara said they've been on the road for about 3 hours, so I will say they traveled anywhere from 150 to 165 miles. Knowing they stayed off the major highway, but still going to Washington through South Carolina, I calculate they were either just short of Greenville, SC, or just past Greenville, SC on US highway 123 / 23 N
No way they went that far. First of all, they have to stop to clear cars (they showed that earlier when Tara saw him smile) and second of all, that was a back road with an army truck. They won't average 50-55 mph even when they are moving. If there is a herd or cars across the road, you can't stop quick enough. That said, in 3 hours in a truck, they aren't anywhere close to Maggie/the bus.

There was atleast 4, possibly 5 or more...

One is dead, definitely...we don't know if any others died. Sure, we could say the sleeper got gobbled but apparently if you're completely still...the zombies won't notice you or they just blindly follow sound/fire/movement, etc...

Zombie stumbles downstairs and guy yells for dude on porch...they come in and bash him or shoot him...still got at least 2 or 3...maybe more that will be pissed. Don't need an army to chase down this one guy and the chick he has with him...

They've gotta be 100 to 150 miles away though...

This is assuming the guy who was choked upstairs isn't dead and doesn't get killed by the walker. He's the only one who saw Rick. And if he was killed - and I thought he was - than all of this is meaningless since he's now a walker. I think it takes far more effort to try to work these characters back into the storyline than is necessary. There's more than enough to deal with going forward. I think they served their purpose which was to push Rick, Michonne and Carl toward Sanctuary.

You could be right about the plot device...the writers do it all the time unabashedly but you couldn't be more wrong about the choked out guy...he was obviously alive and breathing...just choked out. Zombie could've eaten him too...but dude didn't die from the choke.

I'll take your word for it. Based on the discussion on the Talking Dead it certainly looks like I was wrong in thinking the guy was dead. I already deleted the episode from my DVR. That one won't get a second viewing. :)

I thought the guy that was choked is dead. I thought they made it apparent and obvious. Rick had to get out from under the bed by one of two ways. Through the side with the dead guy who could turn into a zombie at any time, or out from the other side where the dude that was laying down had his leg draped over that side. Plus the added thought that evenually the choked out guy would turn anyways.

He was still breathing. So he was either still alive or the horrible acting has stooped to a new low.

That's what I thought too and why I thought they kept focusing on Rick watching him. I got the impression that was being done to see if the guy would turn and Rick was hoping he wouldn't.

I thought he was starting to turn. I saw movement and thought he was in the early stages of becoming a walker.

While I would agree with you except for one small part.

The writers have enough leeway to go anywhere they want.

Basically all you have is one guy who was getting choked out who possibly wakes up and tells his buddies, hey when I was blacking out I saw a guy under the bed.

Likely they wouldn't believe him and the only clue that the one guy didn't just have a heart attack on the crapper is a missing gun.

I thought it was clear that he was still alive and that is why Rick had to get out because if he woke up he would be discovered.

Choked out guy was still alive. Seems like there were at least 5. The 2 that fought over the bed. Guy in the bathroom. Guy with the tennis ball. And the guy who ran upstairs to get a gun when Rick was on the move. Guy in the bathroom is dead. Gonna assume the walker got one of them unaware. So 3 left to go over Rick's group who has a head start on them and they have no idea which way they went. It's possible they run into them again, but I thought they were just a plot to device to get them moving. Rick & co didn't seem like they were in much of a hurry on the train tracks.

Let's say they average around 40 mph (seems reasonably fast, but slow enough to be careful) and let's say that it takes around 5 -10 minutes for a stop and move cars/pee break/rummage (might be low). Just assuming that in 30 miles, you are going to have to do that every 10 miles. It takes 15 minutes to go 10 miles and then a 7.5 minute stop. You are going 10 miles every 22.5 minutes or just under 90 miles.

Definitely going to be a ways a way, but I would think since they cleared the cars on the way, they might be able to find something drivable on the way back and get there in a few hours. Not sure if Abraham was carrying fuel or water. If fuel, then it should be pretty easy to get back without walking the entire way. If water, then they could be in for multiple days of foot travel.

Maybe these guys were from this sanctuary place.
:goodposting: now THAT would be interesting... good call
That was one of the things that I thought might bring them back into play. They would have no idea who Rick/Michonne/Carl are, but I could see Rick remembering something.

Here is my call, they get back to the Sanctuary, think everything is hunky dory and then Rick sees tennis ball guy come back there and be real chummy with the leader of the Sanctuary and then of course he realizes things aren't going to be wonderful after all.

By the way, I don't read the comics, but as with every single place our crew will hit, there is going to be something that drives them somewhere else. My thought is the Sanctuary won't be all bliss after awhile. Something about the name being a safe place that pretty much means it isn't.

And it all come rushing back to Rick when he hears him whistle that tune he was whistling on the porch.

Don't be ridiculous, they are going to get to Sanctuary and the next seven seasons will be filled with farming goodness.

So, it's probably safe to say they averaged at least 40 mph for 3 hours, occasionally stopping to remove debris, putting them somewhere between Toccoa, SC (95 mi from Atlanta) and Westminister, SC (113 miles from Atlanta), or Seneca, SC (122.5 miles from Atlanta), or best case scenario Clemson, SC (130 miles from Atlanta) on US Highway 23 N. I'm assuming that road because we know they stayed off the interstate and 23 N is the best direction to Washington DC if you're not taking the interstate.

I don't watch Talking Dead...just heard the guy snoring...

About time they add some serious sex appeal with Rosita. I love it how they dress her in a skimpy "military" outfit.

Maybe you are right and I am being too cynical. There has to be one really good place where everyone is looking out for each other with no secrets and no zombie #### fighting or zombies in a shed.

Ok here is one other thing that hasn't really been touched on.

The "scientist" is a joke right? I was laughing at the absurdity of that scene. So let me get this straight, the freak, hillbilly scientist has the answer to cure the plague and was in contact with Washington DC.

But he didn't tell them anything, NOW after they lose contact they decide to go cross country to do what? Look for survivors? Let me get this straight, there is some government left that can cure the plague but can't keep a short wave radio working?

And classifed? Are you serious.

At first I was thinking Glenn should hang with these guy they look like they got their #### together, now total Don Quixote crackpots.

So first off, it is impossible that this guy has the cure, that there is a government left, so either that is a totally weeeeeeeeeak plot so when this gob eats it we will think that OH no now there will be no cure, or it is the reverse psychology vodoo and he really is the real deal and they are making seem as unlikely as possible.

The most intriguing line of the whole episode was when the Doctor said " After all I am way smarter than you" Too Abraham. What did that LOADED statement mean.

Off the top of my head.

1. He really shot the truck on purpose

2. He has conned Abraham into thinking he is worth protecting

3. He has conned them into getting him to DC for some nefarious or not plague cure reason.

4. He ain't no scientist

No one is really discussign Abraham much. I liked his discussion with Tara. Thought that showed alot when he said at the end of their discussion "I guess I'm the luckiest guy in the world", when Tara said he was smiling while killing the zombies, and that was the first time she had ever seen that.

Yeah, I know they are from a comic book, but these 3 characters are worse IMHO than the governor already. Sure, she is eye candy, but that might just be about the worst possible zombie biting protection. Throw in "classified" smart guy who looks about as intelligent as Billy Ray Cyrus and our buddy Yosemite Sam and these three are so freaking out of place in this TV show that it is remarkable that Glenn didn't start laughing when he saw them.

Um, there were two possible zombies in the house. The first was choked out who saw Rick under the bed. The other was the one Rick killed. The first one was "dead" for some time so it was not instant turn.

Some people just like to #####, and some just like to moan. I laugh at both.
I thought the guy in the bedroom was dead too, but they said on TD that he was still breathing.
The guy that was near the bed basically had the sleeper hold put on him. He wasn't dead, you could tell he was still breathing.

If it were me I would get about 25 to 50 people together and go to the coast, get a boat, and head for an island. Once there, set up some kind of government and have checks and balances to ensure proper disposal of those who turn right after death. Of course that would end the show rather quickly ;)

I thought we did "touch" on this...I said he shot the truck on purpose...most here say the "scientist" is lying.

He was definitely alive and breathing. He got put in a sleeper hold, but wasn't choked to death like Rick's guy.

That said, pretty sure he would have gotten eaten. Those guys are probably not showering every day so smell would give them away (no other zombies around to mask him). Maybe he woke up while bathroom guy was chomping on him and that was the screaming we heard.

Episode was kind of far fetched all around.

Of all the houses around there, why would that group select that one. How did they get inside with the couch in the way of the door, is there another door, it didn't look like they broke it down. Those guys sure were loud throughout the entire episode, you would think more zombies would be attacking them, or that they would still be alive.

Carl, acting like a immature punk again until Michonne opens up to him about her kid/family. Carl acting like that every other episode is getting old quick.
coincidences happen all the time in real life. I have no problem with the group of guys stumbling into the house Rick was staying at. There are other ways to get into the house besided the front door. There are back doors and windows a person can use to get into a house it really wouldn't be that hard.

:lmao:

Also the dude that killed the guy by the bed didnt seemed worried about walkers or the dude turning. He went to sleep with the door wide open and the other guy laid out at the foot of the bed.
The guy at the foot of the bed was not dead. You could easily see him still breathing. I think you need to rewatch that scene again if you think he was dead.

No way is that guy really a scientist with info about a cure. You think the guy at the CDC would've known something about that if that was remotely true.
