***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread***

No I dont think this show is anywhere near close to jumping the shark.

Tons of directions this show can go in from this point on. If it ever does get a little out of hand it could pretty easily be reeled back in by getting back to the core characters trying to simply survive.

And when I asked a page or so ago "where to next". I meant next, not eventually. Like I said, I dont think even comic readers know what to expect next.

I mean, I red the first 110 comics or so, and the show has more than enough differences for me to not really know where the show was heading.

Best I can guess is they will try and get to some sort of safe zone with walls that Noah talked about, that is, if he can actually convince them such a place exists.

As long as Rick is bad ### Rick, this show and the word shark will never be used in the same sentence.

I just realized that that was the "finale". Really? That was the big ending for this season?
Not enough car chases for you?
Yeah, you know me. I'm all about car chases and stuff.

I just realized that that was the "finale". Really? That was the big ending for this season?
Hard to know when you're joking, and I'm not really reading this thread much, so I apologize if I'm falling into a TannerTrap™, but that was just the mid-season finale.

I'm guessing you knew that, though.
100% serious. I thought for sure there was one more in this "half-season".

So Beth acting a fool and getting wasted was the climax?
Well, that and everyone being reunited.
Wow

Why did dude run the fire truck into the church steps?

Why did Beth stab Dawns shoulder with cuticle scissors? What harm would that ever do?

Who is putting these marks on trees and how does Morgan know to follow them?

What was Dawns whole deal anyway? Beth says "she finally gets it"...how about cluing me in cause her character and motivations made no sense.

Why didn't priest just crawl back into the church the way he came in?

Dawn must be the quickest draw in history...holstered weapon and hand not on it to BANG in less time it takes to blink.

Ran the firetruck into the stairs to block the zombies in the church.. Come on now.. If we are going to question anything with the Fire truck, then complain about the fact the group outside the church didn't hear it coming and didn't see it until it smashed into the stairs.

Guessing Beth's plan was the neck but miss judged the angle.

Marks were from the Cannibals.. Morgan followed because, well.. Why not  First sign of someone else in a while so might as well follow where they go..

Beth finally saw that Dawn was "Henderson".. She had lost her way and Beth was going to fix that much like Dawn fixed Henderson..

Priest felt he had no chance to crawl back in as the Zombies were right on his heels..

Not sure on the Dawn shot.. I know they holstered their weapons when they all first met, but I wasn't watching close enough to see if she might have pulled it back out when the :argue: started over Noah..

That firetruck thing seemed excessive but I'll buy it.

Beth thing just dumb.

Forgot the cannibals were marking trees...why again? Did they have more coming or something?

Really just never bought the Dawn storyline.

Still think it's the first place anyone would go. I can crawl to a known opening or I can bang on door hoping they can tear down the boards and let me in...

Everything Dawn related was just terrible.

On to the next caricature of human depravity.

For the spinoff, I'd love it if they start the show off juuuuust as the virus starts spreading. Before the breakdown of society. I think a half or full season of that would be fascinating.

Second, and I know we're all thinking this, ditch the bras already. Seriously. These people are running around all day in the Georgia heat, sweating. They're not all carrying around duffle bags full of fresh clothes. I'm pretty sure by now, nobody is wearing underwear. You can't tell me that these women are wearing a bra, tank top, and shirt. The logical thing to do is ditch most of that extra dirty smelly, garb.

What took Morgan so long? He followed them right off the train tracks in episode 1 and then a half an season later he's just making it to the church?

It's been half a season but I think it's only been a few days in the show's timeline.

We also don't know when Morgan is showing up. Not to mention who made the markings on the trees. I'd have to go back and re-watch the first episode of the season but I don't remember the trees being marked when Rick and the group went into the woods after getting out of Terminus.

Wiki - "In a post-credits scene set months after Rick's escape,[3] Morgan Jones (Lennie James) approaches the "No Sanctuary" sign. He steps off the tracks and looks at a symbol carved into a tree and heads off further into the woods."

So in the Morgan clips it is several months after the current events. If I understand that correctly.

1. Why did Maggie pull a gun on Abraham. Seemed pretty idiotic.

2. Loved the water filtration system. Let's wait 2 hours to get 8 ounces of water which we'll then boil. Does boiling the water not purify it? Me ain't no rocket scientist.

3. Why is Tyreese going out on a hunt and shoot? Shouldn't he be staying home watching the baby?
Don't think they intended on boiling it, I thought they said they DIDN'T have to boil with that technique.
Pretty sure she said they were going to boil it. Seems to me the "filter" was for getting the mud out of the water.
She did say she was going to boil it. I thought boiling gets rid of all the potential germs. Not sure though. I can't imagine having the water running through some dirt/rocks is going to contribute anything. If it didn't purify the water, then it seems a material waste of time. drip..... drip...... drip.
I'm way behind in the thread so apologies if someone said this... but a very easy water filter is to layer pebbles, sand, and charcoal. The first two filter out dirt and sediment, the charcoal will remove chemicals. If you ever watched that reality show called The Colony that tried to simulate survivalist life after a pandemic, that was what they used to purify water they took from the LA River.
i'm not sure what they filtered it with, but the way it was dripping, they would have needed more water to hydrate themselves than was provided by their filtration system.

I guess im the only one who didnt like rick basically murdering a guy in handcuffs.
Said that while we were watching it. He's basically just a cold-blooded murderer. I mean really, you kidnap a guy (a fellow cop in a past life, mind you, so they supposedly had the whole brotherhood thing)...but you kidnap a guy, and he pulls a fast one to try and escape. Understandable right? But instead of just recapturing him and holding him, you shoot him point-blank in the head in the middle of the street? After running him over with your car? Seems like Rick has skipped the whole anti-hero aspect that was so powerful in Soprano/Draper/White and gone straight to #####. I don't see very many redeeming qualities about Rick, and I think it brings the show down from what it could be.
Well, he did ask him rather politely to stop.

Hey I know that guy! Cliff Curtis!*

*saw him in a Hollywood diner about 5 years ago. Nodded at him and said "hey".
That's nothing. I played poker with Nick Chinlund (Tim from Training Day) in Vegas and had a full conversation the next day at a urinal. Got a head nod from him when I saw him the next day on the walkway between Mandalay and Luxor.

"explores the outset of the same zombie apocalypse as AMC's flagship show but takes place at a different location."
It will be set in and around Charlotte, North Carolina.

Season 1 will be set in Charlotte, the surrounding wilderness, and the Duke University Medical Research Center.

Season 2 will take place on a ranch.

Season 3 takes place in a juvenile detention facility.

Season 4 will continue to focus on the reform school while introducing a new group of survivors, led by the mysterious "Mayor", who live in a gated community.

Wouldn't work. These zombies are so slow and easily defeated that they'd have to display the collective idiocy of billions for them to over run the planet.

This is very true.

Unless it focused mostly on society crumbling, mass riots, mass criminal activity, and just people killing people in general, which is what would take everything down with the zombies as nothing more than window dressing.

Problem is, they couldnt even fill one season or even more than a couple episodes probably.

At least for a spinoff people wouldnt get their panties all in a twist when someone reference the damn comic.

Rich kills Sean right in front of Cal.

Lol malloy. I actually laughed at that

They need a "scary movie" type spoof made of this show.

These storylines sound familiar.
