***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

Watched The Talking Dead. I'd take care of Beth. Seems like a genuine person. Her and Maggie would be epic.

Preacher is still with the group. Other than Noah, I don't think any others went with the group.

The gay character Kirkman mentioned, is that person a villain, friend, love interest to someone?

Did we see Eugene walking around or in the truck only? Not zombified right?
He said it like it was a big deal, but I didn't get the significance of a new gay character when there's already one on the show.
Its most likely a gay character named Jesus. Its going to piss some folks off.
You're in the wrong thread. The Sons of Anarchy/Kurt Sutter thread is down the hall.

They should keep ####### with us and keep Morgan a week behind the group for the next three seasons. Just showing him in the after credit scenes every episode.

I would enjoy that, kind of a detective show where Morgan has to put together all of the clues and figure out where they went. They could even make a Where's Waldo book with Morgan trying to find Rick in scenes of walkers.

if it wasnt for this thread i wouldve had no clue morgan was even part of this season. Then he wouldve showed up and i wouldve been like wtf?

Yeah wish they would have spent time in an actual episode showing him. Not throwing that in there after the credits.

I'm up to date on the comics and thats my guess. Never watches SoA, they have a gay Jesus already? I guess it won't be so contraversial then.

No, but it sounds exactly like something Sutter would do.

Would be totally on board with this.

Morgan taking a dump.

Morgan building a fire.

Morgan paging through old magazines.

etc...

He prefers a good game of Juan on Juan.

Gimple joked that Morgan's scenes are going to get bigger and bigger until the main cast are only in the teasers at the end.

My fiance watches this show and I cwn hardly stand it. Its just asinine.
:potkettle:
You should listen to MC Gas Money. He's got a 176 IQ and draws penises like nobody's business.
Link to the penis? For...science.
dong gallery is done- mods please hard delete this
Wow, that took me forever to find the penis in the owl.

Andrea - won't kill the Governor when given a no-risk chance.
I love this show but that was an absolutely infuriating storyline. The lengths they went to turn Andrea into the dumbest person on the planet was ridiculous. No wonder it took such a toll on Laurie Holden having to constantly defend her character's actions. There was no common sense way she could. None of it made even the slightest bit of sense.

I still wish she killed him at that factory, her bait and switch with the door was perfect. That would have been a great ending to him. I did enjoy some of his episodes when he came back (like the crossover on the street to avoid the zombie), but that would have been a great ending to him. They (his lieutenants) could have still attacked the prison after finding idiot with the tank to get Rick et al back on the run again.

A mace would be great, but you do need a little more swinging room to use it and I have to imagine that it would really suck to carry one of them around on a daily basis. But they would absolutely crush some skulls with a vengeance and make for some good tv splatter.
A mace doesn't have to be long to inflict tremendous damage - most are ~24" - and shouldn't be heavy. It's a great up close weapon for crushing skulls. Certainly needs less room than Michonne's katana.

This guy talks about how it's not as good of a weapon as swords against human targets (due to swords being better at causing bleeding), but against a zombie to destroy their brain I don't think there's a better melee weapon.

Ideally I would go with a studded mace, not the flanged one you normally see, and made of titanium (nearly half the weight of steel).
In survivalist mode, when expending calories is something you want to avoid doing needlessly, I would think heavy, blunt weapons like maces would be amongst the worst choices you could make, both to have to lug around with you, and to have to swing two dozen times to get through a pack of biters.

Which is again why I'm going back to the spear. It doesn't need to be overly long, just enough you can kill without getting any body parts in biting range. A cross guard placed where the tip will reach the brain but it won't go further in than needed to keep removal as easy as possible. And unlike maces, swords, etc, you can make them yourself pretty easily.

Though a sword for the chopping edge would be handy as well.

Musta been that untreated fever she had.

I really need to catch up with some of you when it comes to complaints about this show.

I'm still back on "If the main threat from a walker is being bit by him, then why are they still using hand-held knives instead of spears?"
I still get annoyed they're all wearing t-shirts. Jean jacket? Leather jacket? Maybe cover up those extremities as your waging hand-to-hand combat with an enemy whose only weapon is to bite?

I thought it was surprising they didn't take Bob the cops vest/protection after running him over.

Hotter than a %#@! in ATL.

The less clothing Maggie, Tara and Rosita are wearing the better.

In terms of furthering the story, of course.

They should go here

Am I in the minority in thinking that this show has jumped the shark a bit? I mean, apart from two spectacular episodes to open the season it was the weakest yet. Seems like the show has no direction and mid-season finale was a complete snoozer.

I watched the half-season finale last night, in spite of AMC's Facebook page spoiling it for me while I watched SNF. Good episode, like the dark Rick, excited to see how it goes from here in February.

The season's over so I'm bringing back up the idea of a Walking Dead Dead Pool that a couple co-workers and I did this past half season as a suggestion and to get ideas on how to make it better.

Recap- three of us drafted from a pool of 15 "good guys", 5 characters per team. We ran it skins game style, every episode was $1 into the pot, if somebody lost a character they'd take the pot and it would reset.

The good- Having a vested interest in who dies was cool while not detracting from the show, and it gave us more water cooler talk (I went way shticky coming up with rediculous ways one of my characters would randomly die in the next episode, like how Carol's domestic abuse reveals were leading up to her ultimately suicide bombing the hospital to stop the "domestic abuse" going on there). That drawn out "is Eugene dead?" cliffhanger was great because of this pool.

The bad- we only had 2 wins in 8 episodes (Bob ep. 3, Beth ep. 8) so 75% of the time we had no result. Ultimately it lead to a big win with Beth which was fun, but would have liked a little more action.

We're going to re-draft again in February (might allow 1 keeper each from our current squads) and throw Preacher, Noah, and Morgan into the pool. I'd like to have some kind of side wagers to keep things interesting because people just don't die very often, like how during a skins game they'll throw in the occassional "longest drive" or "closest to the hole" type competition, but not coming up with any ideas on how to do this.

(I'll also be consulting this thread when the draft comes up so if you think you know who will be next to die, tell me. And I'm in if we do an FBG WDDP..)

I just realized that that was the "finale". Really? That was the big ending for this season?
Not enough car chases for you?
Not enough episodes either. I hate it when I realize the last episode before the mid season break is the season finale and it would suck if it was a season finale.

I just realized that Detective Pete Malloy is probably a long way off.

Hard to know when you're joking, and I'm not really reading this thread much, so I apologize if I'm falling into a TannerTrap™, but that was just the mid-season finale.

I'm guessing you knew that, though.

Yeah, you know me. I'm all about car chases and stuff.

100% serious. I thought for sure there was one more in this "half-season".

So Beth acting a fool and getting wasted was the climax?

Well, that and everyone being reunited.

This usually leads to climax.
