***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (1 Viewer)

You're right, with some of the stuff it feels like the don't care. And that's even less forgivable.
I am saying "I" (along with 99.9% of others) don't care, or let something like that keep me from enjoying the show.

That really sucks for people who are bothered by stuff like that.

Where did this 99.9% stat come from, earlier it was 50-50 in this thread? And you're confused about being able to enjoy the show regardless of it's shortcomings. I love the show! Wishing it was better doesn't keep me from enjoying it.

Has anyone done a poll yet asking how many posters in this thread actually LIKE the show? Are we at like 50-50 with a 100% viewing rate?

I wasn't aware everyone in the world who watches the show writes in this thread. I have never actually SPOKEN to another human who watches the show and had any of the complaints I see in this thread.

How big a sample size is the 99.9% of the people you've personally talked to?

Try going over to the walkingdeadforums. The longest thread over there (other than the live show reactions thread) is the complaints thread. I don't think this thread is a glitch in the matrix.

Well, it's pretty well known that complainers speak up much more than non-complainers. This is not exclusive to TWD

They also commented that Noah's mom had her head sliced or bashed in rather than an attack by walkers.
His brother must have been a heavy sleeper.
Noah's mom was killed after she turned. Safe to say one of the twins was too.
How do you know that?
This picture sure makes her look like a walker who got her head sliced in some fashion to kill he in my opinion.

LOL, same picture makes me think that she was killed while human and just decayed normally. She reminds me of people that killed themselves and didn't turn. Noah has been gone a while, so she could have been dead for a while. With the minimal amount of walkers in that neighborhood and the forced entry, I am thinking the walkers are people who were killed, but not enough to avoid turning. In her case, I think she was killed with a head wound and didn't turn.

That said, we probably will never see what happened, so all conjecture.

Michonne was able to slice off the arms and jaws of those guys she was toting around... seems plausible the same was done here.

If the whole point of killing walkers being by blows of some kind to the head I'd be more inclined to believe you. But that looks like a walker kill to me.

exactly- I didn't make my point very clear there.

We just disagree. Head shots are ways to kill humans, especially when people are now geared up to kill zombies via head shots. Course of habit now. Also, why the attack of that community? Why aren't there way more walkers? I think the lack of zombies shows that most people were killed and only the ones not properly killed were turned.

Not really anything we need to discuss as it doesn't matter, but from the wall breach and the cutting people in half, I am guessing this was all non-zombie violence. If that community was all walkers, it would have been a simple clear out of that neighborhood. No need for explosives, etc. Heck, stand at that back wall and use a pole to kill any that came over.

I still don't get your point.

Still disagree that rurual>urban. Maybe a semi-rurual place with a 6 story high rise would be ideal. Wall in the town square and use the high rise for spotting and women and children. These ground operations are bad for defense vs. people and zombies.

Of all the locales we've seen so far I think Morgan had it figured out and working the best.

Was it discussed where it was he got all those guns and ammo? You think he scavenged it or just killed anyone that came in range and jacked their ####?

Likely a combination of both.

Rick told him about the weapons that were at the police station. When Rick and Carl went to look for them, they were gone.

That's right. I forgot about that. I'm sure he was taking them off people who ventured in too. He was prepared to take out Rick, Michonne and Carl. Safe to say he had killed others before.

could be Tyrese/Governor crew. it appeared in tyrese's death dreams that him and governor had some previous experiences, back when tyrese was still a bad ### murderer and the governor was a #####. then you hear the radio broadcasts about random violence in the coastal areas, that may well have been tyrese blowin #### up, and voila he goes back to where he started and gets bit and dies. full circle

I thought the radio broadcasts were from when he was a kid, driving with his father. Like Rwanda type news stories, nothing to do with Tyreese or zombies.

I haven't re-watched the episode but my initial thought was the radio broadcasts were recreating things that Rick and the group had done or encountered since Tyreese came along. That would seem to fit in with the theme of the episode of Tyreese's life (as it has been since being introduced on the show) flashing before his eyes as he was dying.

Tyreese was talking about how his father would keep the radio on during horrible stories to force him to face the horrors of the world. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought he was hearing back those broadcasts. I didn't hear exactly what they were saying on the radio, so it was just an assumption.

Yup, I remember that. I'm not saying I'm right but that was just my initial impression since everything else Tyreese was seeing and dealing with after being bitten revolved around events that had occurred since he was introduced on the show. Just seemed to make sense to me that the radio broadcasts would too.

Definitely could be. If I cared more, I'd look for the transcripts of the radio broadcasts.

I thought the radio broadcasts sounded like they were discussing the Rwandan genocide, which supports the interpretation that Tyreese was recalling listening to the horrors of the pre-apocalyptic world on the radio with his father. Here is a transcript from the radio broadcast:

"At least 68 citizens of the republic have been killed in four deadly attacks along the main coastal district. The group has continued their campaign of random violence, moving across the countryside unfettered with the republic’s military forces in disarray … There have been troubling reports of cannibalism having broken out in refugee camps along the republic’s transportation corridor. And despite the string of victories by rebel forces, there are disturbing reports of increasing the brutality of their tactics including the wholesale destruction of villages, burning down local prisons, targeting of civilians, and even the widespread mutilation of children and young mothers.”
Perhaps the Rwandan genocide serves as a link between the horrors committed by humanity in the pre-apocalyptic world and the post-apocalyptic world.

Could've been Rwandan and that definitely fits in with Tyreese talking about his father. But the transcript also could be viewed as someone's take on everything the group has done and encountered as well. I think it fits either way.

This is definitely an episode that will require multiple viewings to catch all the stuff going on. Very layered.

Thanks. I figured since it was when Tyreese was a kid and they mentioned the Republic and rebels, etc., it was a foreign country. Just assumed Rwanda or some atrocity similar.

And it fits with Tyreese saying "turn it off" just before he died.
