***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (3 Viewers)

Soooo basically the forum was slowed down by the traffic in the most popular threads. And the solution is to get rid of the popular things?
It wasn't the traffic in the threads but loading the entire thread every time.
Was the thread actually slow to load? I never noticed. It either opened...or it didn't (when the board does that lame backup at midnight and again at 1am).

Ok, explain this. JCrew's lover was in the area, they were being "watched" by two people from a base that was more than 2 hours of a drive away from their home?

Did I miss something?
I assume those two were a patrol sent out to find appropriate recruits... they stumbled on the gang and watched them before approaching.

not sure what the question is- that they were two hours away from home base?
2 hours is a long way from home if they cleared a two hour stretch of highway. Also, so their base wasn't close so the whole water stunt was just a stunt. The logic leaps are a little hard to go along with here. If they were just on the lookout for recruits they didn't have a great manner to do so.

Previews at least show them making it to a waspy neighborhood but no new human characters are previewed.
 My guess this isn't the first time they have ventured out looking for new members.. Two hours drive isn't much, especially with supplies.. You park somewhere and wander around searching for survivors.. when you find some, you watch them for a bit to try and determine if they are worth inviting or not.

With a large RV, storing water and going back to bring it to the road you know the group is walking down isn't hard to imagine..
agree.

could see where they do an out and back recon trip of a few hours each way, or until they find a potential group. lots of supplies in the RV, so not seeing what the "stunt" is.

but gas... just refill at any stopped car? stop at the local stop n' go and fill 'er up?
RV's have big gas tanks, so as long as there is gas back at Utopia then they are fine.. Maybe they are stealing from D.C. since that is only 6 miles away :oldunsure:
but wont all the gas be bad by now?And NOW we're back
I think the clean clothes are a clue, we're about to find Lori. Explains why the writers wouldn't let us see the group shot. Doesn't explain why LL wouldn't eat applesauce though.

Lori was his mother in an alternate but parallel universe. She is the one who force-fed him applesauce as a child. It reminds me of the show: Lost.

ETA: LL Queen

 They have bigger gas tanks because, well, they are bigger and get 10 miles to the gallon tops. But, yeah with math, the RV should be fine within a couple hours of a gas source. The other car not so much, it doesn't get much better gas mileage than the RV and doesn't have nearly the tank capacity.

Unless they are sitting on unlimited fuel that's got to be the most inefficient way to scour for recruits. They should be using motorcycles until they've found a group people and then send a bus directly to go get them.
This is the stuff I love. Complaints about the show, yet not a lot of reality behind the complaints. The car looked like an 80s Caddy, most likely a De Ville. Well, according to these web sites (LINK and LINK), the 1980 Caddy De Ville got around 20 mpg on the highway (route 16 was pretty clear, so highway mileage is attainable). Throw in the 25.1 gallon tank and you should easily get 400-500 mpg on clear roads. Even if you didn't get the best mileage, doing a couple hour round trip at likely 35-40 mph, should be 160 miles. You should return to the compound with over half a tank.
20 MPG highway, but only 7 MPH riding through hordes of walkers. I think its time for a Hyundai.

What about a hybrid? The charging stations surely still work.

I see LL Queen in a crossover.

The Walking Dead’s season five finale will be an extended 90-minute episode airing March 29 at 9 p.m., AMC announced Wednesday. In the finale, Daryl finds himself in trouble while out on the run. Meanwhile, in Alexandria, Rick and his group continue to feel like outsiders as danger lurks near the gates.

That's kind of a spoiler
dont hate the messenger
The 90 minute part is fine.. But what the 90 minute episode is about is a spoiler on what is coming up, thus the reason for the spoiler tag :)
yes because god knows there is never any danger lurking somewhere on this show
More then just danger..

It lets people know that they will be in Alexandria the rest of the season
 Pretty much a given, but still others in the archived thread have been called out for less ;)

 ,,,,,right....my A D D strikes again hahaha...sorry

Just catching up over the last 3 episodes and I can't read Tanner's helpful insight. This blows.

You can have the cut grass, the gasoline, the van falling off the bridge...

But all this time and all this walking, and Rick is still wearing cowboy boots?? Not one zombie had a pair of Brooks or New Balance he could have lifted? Pfft. I'm out.

Oh yeah #BadAssRickGrimes is back.

His speech to the old lady was all about him telling her what he was going to do.

Great stuff.

Also, Rick is going to #### that guys wife who gave him a haircut, right? And there's even a love interest for Carl. This needs to happen.

there in trouble with Carl. That kid is growing way too fast, he will outgrow his role in a year or 2. there is some good story angles with him but he is getting too grown

The scene of the group handing over their weapons reminded me of the scene in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" when Max is forced to give up all his weapons and the scene seemingly takes forever because he's so well-armed.
