***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (5 Viewers)

With the ratings declining, AMC will to continue to cut the budget and milk it for every dollar they can.

Only going to get worse from here.
Yea.. sure looks like they are hurting for viewers

November 16-22:

“The Walking Dead” kept its hold on the top of the cable 18-49 rankings for the week of Nov. 16-22, and it also reclaimed the total-viewer crown.

AMC’s juggernaut was up in both adults 18-49 (6.7 vs. 6.5) and viewers (13.22 million vs. 12.87 million) over the previous week.
Down nearly 10% year-over-year in the 18-49 demo.

Stock dropped with the lower ratings.

it
Even though the ratings are down from last year it is still 3 times as popular as Breaking bad was and
Seriously?!

I'm a regular watcher of TWD but it isn't even the same solar system as BB. TWD is at that level now for me that I still watch just to see what happens but I could really take it or leave it. BB was a must watch every week. The only show on TV now that comes close is Fargo and that's still a few rungs down the ladder from BB.

Morgan would rather kill/hurt Carol than a murderer/thief. Pathetic and wholly unbelievable.
I think reforming the Wolf is a self-serving thing on Morgan's part, so it makes sense to me that he'd want to defend that.
This thread is funny. The vast majority of the nation, and presumably viewers of this show, are Christian. Newsflash: Morgan's perspective is the Christian perspective.

It's fun to suspend disbelief and pretend like there's a zombie apocalypse. It would be silly to assume in that world that (a) Christian principles would cease to exist (or eastern pacificsm or whatever Morgan's into or that (b) the gas would still be good and the lawns would still be mowed.

If you can get past (b), (a) should be a given, no?

That said, Morgan should have been a bad ### with a staff and put Carol down quick. He's not living up to his Boba Fett- like persona.

 We didn't watch BB until the last episodes hit Netflix... the idea of watching a teacher become a drug dealer didn't appeal to us when it was running.. in a sense I'm glad as we watched an episode or 5 everyday until the end..

Morgan's perspective is primarily a Buddhist perspective including the martial art of Aikido. The book Eastman gave Morgan was titled The Art of Peace. Considering the bloody history Christians have it could be considered the exact opposite perspective of Christians. Of all the major beliefs that get labeled as religion Buddhism is probably the furthest one can get from Christianity, other than Atheism, which gets that label incorrectly.

I think it's easy to see Christian principals being forgotten in a post apocalyptic world. Christian principals will cease to exist in the real world, eventually.

You're right, this thread is funny.

- kudlitz has an rpg. I figure he'd be riding that thing 24/7 like it was a MCgashummer dong cartoon. step slowly out of the vehicle? yeah- ok...
Yeah, that scene was a bit silly. Daryl sees these bikes in the middle of the road from a distance, certainly. How do you not stop and evaluate? 6 bikes in the road waiting on you. Probably more men in the woods to the side. If you turn around they'll give chase. So why not arm yourself with weapons just in case. RPG on the ready. If they are friendlies, no harm no foul. If not, you're ready.

All 3 of them were shot at in the ambush and Daryl saw them in the woods looking for the couple and the gas truck. Why would he not think these Hell's Angels weren't of the same group? Just silly.

Yeah I knew Morgan's philosophy is eastern, I didn't word that well. My points were that I'm not shocked that a life affirming philosophy wouldn't die out in the zombie apocalypse, and also that I'm surprised that so many people actually condemn him for it in this thread. And thanks for the history lesson and prediction about Christianity. You're ever so smart!

No one expects the Zombie Inquisition!

Apparently AMC is going to run a 5 minute scene from the 2nd half of the season during a 4AM infomercial this Wednesday night.

What does it tell you that my reaction when I first read that was "Yeah, sounds like something AMC would do"?

It's funny to me that so many in this thread complain about decisions made by people on the show as if they'd somehow make better decisions or know what is right/wrong to do.
This is the main appeal of apocalypse type movies, the "what would you do" factor. Didn't you get the memo?

So are you saying they would just drive through and keep on goin? Like, no problem?

I guess I can simply see it not going so easy driving really fast in a vehicle not really meant for good handling while getting shot at from several different angles in a vehicle that PROBABLY isn't bullet proof. Shot through the doors, windows, or a bullet to the tire pretty much ends the dream. That and it is a gas tanker truck which doesnt make it any safer than if it wasn't.

My guess is they crash, gas goes everywhere, and they either explode or one of the nice motorcycle fellas lights em up.
here's what would happen in real life. they would blast through the bikers and kill a couple as the truck crushed them, and disable most if not all of the other motorcycles. Even if the knuckleheads with guns managed to get off a few shots, even if they shot out a tire, nothing would explode and the truck would keep on going. Meanwhile, sasha and abe could arm up and be ready for any kind of counter attack from the 1 or 2 motorcycle morons that managed to get their broken bikes up and running. Pretty sure they could handle a couple dudes.
They would crash. Sorry, but they would.

Why would the wolf leave the house and not kill everyone there? After all, he's insane and believes everyone should die. He has a knife and the girls toss over guns. He picks up the gun and holds it on them as if to say "no you don't be foolish and try to follow me, now." Morgan and Carol unconscious on the floor and three other people he could just shoot and leave. Odd behavior for a f'n wolf.

I could see him keeping the corpulent doctor to use as bait so he can slip by the walkers. But why not shoot everyone else?
Uh oh. Morgan didn't "change" him did he?

No here's what would have really happened. The like twenty dudes each with a bike and automatic weapons would have easily gotten out of the way of a truck that probably won't break 60MPH and cant accelerate for anything due to the fact it weighs more than a few tons. They then would have mowed Daryl, Abe and Sasha down in the cab in a hail of gunfire.
there was only 8 guys, none of them had their bikes running, only 2 of them had auto or semi-auto AR-15 type weapons, the rest had rifles or shotguns, or nothing.

i'll take my chances
So you would notice all this from afar whilst building up a head of steam in your tanker truck?

anyone else catch the slow-mo of Tara running to save someone and her bra struggling to contain those huge chest puppies

I make a drive through the Poconos and Binghamton at least a few times a year. There's always been an exit for a town in PA called Scotrun that I always read as Scrotum, every single time. Today I could have sworn for a second that the exit for Port Dickinson in NY was changed to Porch ****. I don't know if I'll be able to see if any differently from now on.

That is all.

Anyone running to the theater to see Lauren Cohan in "The Boy"?

It looks like it is a probably going to be the kind of movie that i consider to be a nice idea, but poorly executed.

Not theater material. Can't be. Right??

I am glad Dale died (was just watching a rerun while on the treadmill here at work).

Just thought I'd share.
I was Xmas shopping for my kiddos at Toys R Us and they have a section for Walking Dead Action figures. I #### you not there is a Dale's Rv Set. I looked at it and thought, I am glad Dale died.

I've been binge watching Seasons 1-5 the past few months. My wife started from S1E1 but I only came on board starting around the middle of S4, so I wanted to catch up.

I'm getting into episodes I've definitely already seen but it's good to rewatch.

Man, the episode where Tyrese dies is f'ing awesome. So well done. One of my favorites.

Too bad there wasn't a dumpster in that bedroom. He may have still been alive.

Seriously? I just might buy that and set it up in my house somewhere like it is a serious decoration. No joke here.

Nice conversation piece.

Nudity?
not in the commercials I saw, but I'm willing to wait for it.

Someone in my house recorded "Cockneys vs Zombies" on my dvr and I either had a fever dream or I really saw a commercial somewhere for something like "Pride & Prejudice: Zombies" over the weekend.

This is what this show and it's writers have wrought.

Just enjoy as we ride this missile to the ground.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a book. Pretty sure it's the same author as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire hunter. PP&Z was published before TWD premiered.

I sure it will suck as a movie and it may have sucked as a book, but my opinion is it is one of the greatest titles ever.

Whats interesting is that Pride and Prejudice's copyrights had expired, so someone just took it and injected zombies into it and made a fortune.

I had never watched the show but decided to binge watch the entire thing before the 2nd half of season 6 kicks in a few weeks. Just finished catching up earlier tonight.

All I know is that EVERYONE is a ####### idiot. Its like they're trying to die.

Glenn being alive was absurd. Just passed the Governor surviving that room full of walkers while he was tracking down Andrea as the most absurd survival ever.

Every kid sucks.
