***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (8 Viewers)

Yeah if he really wanted to die then just attack Maggie.  He hadn't been eating so maybe he was too weak.  Kept waiting for him to lull her in and take her down.  Don't know why they're keeping the character and re-habbing him to join the community.  Why not just kill him and move on to the new story arc?  I don't know what happens in the comics, don't read them so maybe there's a reason they're keeping Negan.

His breakdown showed he wanted to die, but couldn't bring himself to do it.. even a "Suicide by cop" method was beyond his grasp..

They really are building to the breakdown/become new guy and friend which, with the Major time jump, may work ...

but going to need to see a lot more then just a :cry: breakdown to buy it.

Not liking it.  It's like they want to get ratings back up so they re-boot the whole series and bring a bunch of new characters in.  Not a fan.  Show won't be the same without Rick, hope some of the known cast members can keep it afloat.

:shrug: .. Not sure if it can save the show but at this point, IMO, a reboot is necessary..

8 years of Rick vs. enemy, Rick builds community, Rick fights in-house defectors, Rick fights enemy, rinse and repeat is enough.

I'm curious about the post-time jump community.  They've had so many versions of Rick,  it could get better without him.

Although if they STILL have working gas....

I thought it would be Glenn and then coral to close it out. Somebody explain why Sasha? I Don't think of her at all in relation to the bigger psycho-emotional  component of the show or Rick.

 
And Herschel actor died. Did they shoot that scene with cgi? Or before he died?

The girl that plays Sasha may have been the only actress available or that was willing to come back to this project.

It was the last scene he shot before he died, according to TTD.  I thought it was a nice scene too. 

 
And after a little reflection, I'm good with the flashforward. Allows them to hopefully ditch the rinse/repeat bs the writers trot out every season... Even if I was actually interested in how things go from individual groups to something larger- which they gave lipservice to throughout this season. Hopefully the flashforward isn't as disappointing as the FTWD quickly glossing by the fall of civilization so they get back into rinse/repaet lazy writing mode.

 
After losing 137 gallons of blood, he is actually just fine and whisked away to a new community? 

The explosion also had no impact on him at all? 

Who writes this stuff?

But he got conveniently placed on that soft riverbed next to gpk. It makes perfect sense. To the writers.

I figured it had to do with how she went out and how it related to Rick's situation. My memory is a little foggy, but didn't she basically kill herself in a way that would potentially save others (turned into the zombie in the coffin and came out attacking Negan)?

 
Haven't watched it yet, but, a near death Rick attempting to save the communities dream sequence without Carl makes no sense at all.  Everything Rick's done since Carl's death has been about Carl and his vision.  Shane?  When was the last time they showed any lingering emotions Rick has for Shane?  Sasha, wtf?  Then the whole End of Rick Grimes campaign they have been on all season just to have him fly off in a helicopter?  Boy they sure fooled us!

WTF was that all about?!?  That episode was so strange.  The dream sequences got old and I hate that shows/movies keep using them.  Even though there were plenty of eye roll moments I still kind of liked it.  There were still some good parts.  I was actually glad to see Rick alive and it's nice to finally see that damn helicopter.

I was intrigued to see some new characters coming soon, especially the guy in that group, and the time jump has me interested.  It's obvious the show decided it's time to make some major changes and get people excited again.  I think it was pretty smart actually.  Now they will have all this renewed talk about the show and future films.

I have a feeling that the intro to an older Judith will take place of Rick and will keep people from dwelling on the loss of Rick.  I didn't see that coming.  The show has continued to keep my interest.

maybe. but who knows. that's why you're going to pay the big bucks to go see them.

She was pretty important in her sacrifice.

Maybe Rick has amnesia. Like the beginning of Walking Dead wakes up in a hospital bed, but this time has no idea who he is and what has been going down the last few years.

The scene with Shane shows where he got his strength to do what needed to be done.

for sure. I just don't remember her being a moral compass for Rick or the show... seemed like his dream people were all inclined that way, except for her. in relation to the main characters, I'd have thought a Glen or Coral or even Lori would show up to dream-speak to him. Sasha just seemed random- so I've asked the question.

 
Sasha didn't kill anyone important as a zombie, I don't think, but the distraction enabled the heroes to gain an upper hand or escape a dire situation or something.  Right?  

 
I think Andrew Lincoln mentioned the dream meetings in an interview as a take on the wizard of oz.  Shane was courage (to help Rick get his courage to fight on), Hershel was heart.  Sasha, I suppose was brains (stop thinking of yourself in the situation.  It's not about you or me, it's about everyone they have lost and those that are still alive.. or something like that).  The whole time he was trying to find his family (to go home) and turns out it wasn't Lori, Carl and Judith he needed to find.  It was the whole group.  That was his family.  

Though I don't remember him clicking his boots three times to get home.  Although, when he was shuffling his boots while in front of the herd of walkers, it did lean to the idea that he was, and always was, the walking dead.  He looked and walked just like those following him.

She burst out attacking Negan, Negan leaned back to the right and she missed, ended up killing one other red shirt savior.  Later found by Jesus and Maggie, Maggie finishes her off.

Scheduling is a lame excuse.  You could easily have a voice impersonator talking as Carl using flashback cuts of real scenes.  It's not the first time a show had to improvise because of contract issues.   Most shows wouldn't let that interfere with the telling of the story.  

 
I forget- fire doesn't kill zombies, right? so there's going to be a horde of crispy zombies washing up down river somewhere if so.
