do i really yell? lol nah rushing is cool but do it together imo....you are not gonna win many fights 1v2, 1v3.....you might get a nice flank here and there once in a while but its a bad habit in the long run. flanking is great but coordinate with your team mates. play together and stay together dominates imo

i play with randoms all the time...and we dont even use mics....and playing together just comes off naturally...thats the game imo

I'm back in cali finishing the whole school thing and other stuff for the next 3-4 weeks. Then I'll have time to play.

The key is to understand when to do one or the other, not to strictly follow a specific way.

The bold is truth. Its the non verbal communication that is more of a feel of the map/opponents/weapons out that is important. This is where call outs are good if people don't get the spidey senses when surveying the field or in a firefight.

 
Reluctantly decided to take the plunge. I was never any good at this game and its been a long time since I've played. Still in absolute awe of the skill gap in this game. Probably something it does better than any other shooter ever. If you are a bad player, you will get absolutely massacred and there's nowhere to hide.

When I play a shooter that I'm actually good at,(the Battlefield games on the PC mostly) bad players will occasionally get the drop on me, get lucky and kill me. Just doesn't happen the other way in Gearz. I can't imagine the laugh the guy on the other end is having after he torque bows me for the 4th time in a TDM round.

It makes me a little sad if I have been facinght a person for 5+ matches and they seem legit nice and trying to enjoy themselves but just aren't good and there team is not helping. They sort of just hide. I can tell they are scared and ill leave then alone. Often I peg who the best person is on the other team and make it a point to duke it out with them and let everyone else fight each other. Well that is unless the other team gangs up and pushes me. Then one of us dies. When I start playing in a few weeks you should join us. In gears 3 Uni/Pete/Culdeus/dainty and I would make a good team usually winning 70%ish. Others would join us even CJ who rocks the chainsaw only could do decent on a solid team drawing attention away.

 
Probably making the plunge this week. Gonna try to at least get a hardcopy so I can sell it back if everyone bails in a month.

 
So do all the really horrible/new players play the "casual matches"? I only ask because I haven't seen one other player under level 30 yet.

Most gears games there usually is a pretty big skill gap in casual vs ranked. Actually it may not be skill, probably higher levels of dooshyness.
 
Match 1: TDM on Gold Rush. Lowest ranked player in the game as a level 9. I think I'm a randy on a team of 3 but they're not talking, probably partied up. Won 2-1, I #### you not, I go 22-2. 22-2! I basically monopolized torque for the entire match and had 3-4 multi-kills. My best torque match ever.

Since I'm not topping that one, I suppose I'll retire for the night and play some campaign :bowtie:

 
Seriously I can't believe that just happened....8-0, 8-1 (we lost this round!), and 6-1 to end it. It's damn near impossible to go 8-1 when your team has 14 lives total and lose the round. My teammates were all sub-.500.

 
Campaign is pretty awesome. Whipped through Act 1.

If you collect the COG Tags, it unlocks a pretty neat new comic book series. I picked up all 12 in Act 1 and it unlocked a full comic about a young Hoffman. Not bad.

Watching some Gears UE for the first time on twitch and their are two types of twitch streamers.

1. people that don't know how to play gears and its obvious within 10 seconds of the stream.

2. Dooshy internet tough guys.

There is definitely room for some solid streamers out there as the people ranked #3-10 in the feeds are just plain bad for one of the two reasons. Can't wait to get my game on and then eventually get some solid internet since I am back in the burning foothills of cali.

Have the game and xbox one, just really busy until late this month or early next month but I will be around then.

Wish I could play, it's just there's no way I could play a little and not be hooked for the next 10 days.

Also besides Gears, I will be playing Payday 2 a decent amount and possibly ESO if any of you guys play those. Can't wait to not sleep and play games again!

 
I should of found a way to write a dissertation on the statistical analysis and Gears strategies or something with how gaming effects economies and cities. It is a larger entertainment facet than movies and people just don't know it yet. Either that or ffb, stupid advisers wanted something real. :violin:

If you have ever killed your self with nades, watch it!! Team was up 3-0 on Clocktower and now the other team has tied it up for a superbowl when the match is 1-1(games), 3-3(rounds). Pro's can mess up to. Absolutely hilarious. Arctyc explaining sweaty palms :lmao:
