I am open to trading my hitting. I seem to be in need of some quality SP. Dwight Evans is who I would like to trade but am willing to trade Snider if I get a top SP. Evans is raking though so far.

Check me out. I have some guys who are pitching way under where they should (Im talking to you, Spud) and a couple others performing a bit subpar but not terrible when you consider the gravity of offense at my park.Could do straight up or an arm and a decent bat for Snider if it works.Of course, I should be looking for lockdown pitching in lieu of Spud Chandler, but dont see how that will happen.

This version just seems more random than others. You always have players that outperform or underperform - though it mostly evens out to some degree over a season. In addition, there are players who for some reason do better in the SIM than in real life and vice versa... That said, there are some pitchers especially this go around that just seem to be spitting the bit, and I really can't understand why. Their measurables, in SIM terms are good or very good. Some have a good history of SIM performance amongst us, and elsewhere. Others may feel differently, but it seems that there is something going on that is unlike past sims, and I for one can't get a handle on it.

I see exactly the same thing. I wonder if there is an effect from the shallow end of the player pool being so statistically poor relative to the top end.I also wonder about the recent sim engine changes and how they affect team management. I have noticed in one case that a seemingly minor adjustment to one of my pitcher's advanced settings increased his success level markedly. It seems like rest (for batters) and pitch-count per game (for starters) are much more ticky-tack than in past renditions. You've got to be more precise and diligent with the settings, it seems.

I have a feeling part of it is people are looking at composite stats that looks "good" when one component of those stats is just so bad that it drags the pitcher down. It looks like the acceptable BB/9 rate didn't go up at all and that once that happens a whole lot of "bad" can happen to a pitcher especially if they give up HRs. I also think people have much worse defenses this go around and actually think that's having a pretty large effect. In past sims everyone had good to great defenses (or at least at critical positions) this time, not so much. To put it in some context, my team is averaging almost 3 double plays a game which is erasing a whole bunch of walks and hits....plus my guys aren't giving up any HRs (though that's more a function of the Astrodome). Basically hitting metrics didn't much change while pitching and defense did which produces a whole lot of screwy results.

in this afternoon's game against TU, Gene Tenace, my starting catcher, was ejected in the 1st inning for arguing balls & strikes (after he struck out).

Not this season, but in past seasons. First time I've seen it happen for arguing with the ump, though.

Fergie Jenkins took a no-hitter into the 9th this afternoon. Gave up a leadoff single in the 9th, then was yanked. Pen almost blew the 5 run lead, before Dizzy Dean closed it out, lead down to 1 with runners on 1st and 3rd.

I'm in there a lot waiting for games. Also I was out the first 10 days of the season or so on vacation when people were playing. Now everyone returned to their lives and will never play again.

Obviously I'd be an idiot to complain about that kind of production, but I didn't figure Cy would lag so far behind the others, especially since he has the best walk rate. His OAV is getting blown up though(.299 now). I almost thought about trading him, but no reason to mess with the success I'm having overall. But the other two guys will be the ones getting the ball when it counts.

My hitting stats are really weird. Don't even want to get into that.

Just got swept by Truffle Shuffle. Didn't score a run in the 3-game series and lost two back-to-back games 1-0.

This sim continues to suck worse and worse. Mathewson has an ERA near 5, my bullpen is being spearheaded by Sid Fernandez and **** Radatz, and now apparently I can't generate any offense.

This next grouping of words comes from Bob Costas' book "Fair Ball":

Seems very very random.Mickey Lolich and Dean Chance have performed beyond expectations. Cobb is :money:Hack Wilson BLOWS!!!!! I can't figure out how I have his all time greatest season and Ted Kluzewski is out performing him.
