***OFFICIAL*** Titans @ Steelers Game Thread (1 Viewer)

The Jerk said:
All he had to do was go down.
Ward is no Westbrook
:highfive:
Ward is a selfish me first player. Glad that happened to him.
I could care or less about Ward but he is a great player and if he was on your team you would love him. That shows how great of a player he is.
Just mostly Seahawks and Bengals fans piling on here. Nothing new.

As an outsider, can one expect 75% of this out of Santonio Holmes on a consistent basis? The boy looks good. Pittsburgh homers?

Remember Westbrook going down on the 1...almost the same thing and now you can understand why that was such a play (if you didn't before)
I bet the odds of not fumbling are better than the odds of making a 25 yard FG.
Interesting thought, but stripping the ball is the only chance for the defense at that point, and if they're paying attention to the circumstances (unlike Hines), then they probably should go for it. In the first quarter, I doubt the fumbles happen as often as a potentially game-clinching play (except for missed FG/mishandled snap)
Not only that but if you score a TD, you still give the ball back with almost a minute left for a chance they could tie it. The play there is to go down as soon as someone is near you, down it to run the clock down and kick the field goal.

Concerning to me that Steelers cannot choose to run, but good coaching to KNOW that and pass on the 3rd and short instead of being Cowher-ly stubborn and run it anyway.

Fisher just refused to blitz -- don't get it at all! Just wouldn't do it. Why choose intentionally to give Ben 8 seconds every time

Watching that Titans pass defense gave me flashbacks to the Chargers last year....get them to 3rd down and conversion after conversion they march down field.

B

Holmes rang up about 15% of his total season production last year in this one game. If Pitt continues to have problems with the run game, Holmes is going to be massive this year. :2cents:

the thing is.... the titans DESERVED to lose this game.

2 missed field goals

no pass rush in the 4th quarter

penalties

helped out by the refs

etc, etc.

i'm a titans fan and don't care for the steelers, but the steelers should've won this one twice.

anyone else disappointed with the way they utilized chris johnson? they just keep running him into the wall. the only big gainer he had was a cutback across the formation, not a designed play. i thought they learned something last year against baltimore in the playoffs. CJ was virtually a non-factor in the second half tonight. only 1 reception? would it kill them to thro a screen pass?

discloser - i own CJ in 1 league... however i'm facing him in another league tonight. i just wanna see the kid play as well as he can.

A W is a W but they didn't look impressive.
They pretty much looked exactly like last year when facing Baltimore- against a great defense, the offense struggles, but Big Ben gets it done when it counts.
Did everyone miss that the Titans were 13-2 last year in regular season games that mattered? They basically gave away their playoff game with turnovers or would have hosted the AFCC.
