Official US Women's soccer thread: ***Update- US Legend, Tobin Heath to retire. (2 Viewers)

Crappy decision to wait to give Sauerbrunn the ball until she's covered.  WTF was she thinking?

Was just about to say, Rapinoe almost looks disinterested or has heavy legs already.
Exactly.  I know she scored, but she isn't doing much with her chances and she's had some great ones.  Easier said from my office chair, of course.  But I think Press would be a better option here.

I'm probably just buying into a cliche here, but they do play with a high level of arrogance at times.
and giving the ball at the top of the box instead of wide. bad all the way around.

and rapinoe has been bad. a black hole with the ball... and as good as lavelle has been- she looks like she's just trying to only find rapinoe which kills every attack.

and dunn... great player, but looks lost positionally as a wing back. spanish player keeps finding space all around her- and worse, behind her.

Gonna grab lunch at halftime and bring back to the office.

Craving a roast beef sandwich for some reason.

US tried to downplay the 3 day rest issue, but it's pretty apparent there are some tired legs on the US side.  No idea how FIFA can schedule a tourney that gives one team a 3 day rest and the other a week, but whatever.

Alex Morgan's runs are terrible in this first half.
she has been off. bad runs, bad first touch... she's relying on her quickness just salvage anything near her, rather than to exploit the defense with the run or positive first touch.

And they will have one less day of rest against France SHOULD they advance.

we're already using rest days as an excuse?

the US are clearly the better team top to bottom here... they just need to use the team, play quicker, find their touch, not pass the ball to the spanish, and put rapinoe on a short sub-leash for the 2nd half- too many poor choices by her, killing good US attacks.

they got this.

I am more concerned about Friday. One less day of rest against the home team in Paris. Yikes.
