Bad, just plain old BAD...we need more than a 1st round pick to help this team. No faith in Bruce and any make shift created front office to have the intelligence to pick the right people to climb out of this crap either, as they have shown to be incompetent in so many ways that how can anyone have faith in them?

Feel the same way. Yesterday's loss was ugly. Should have known it was going to be bad from the start when Paul was bobbling the pass and went right into the Bucs defender's hands. Was all downhill from there. Did the defense not watch any tape on Mike Evans? Why the hell was Perry Riley covering Evans? The OL was bad before, but was much worse once Trent went out and I doubt he comes back this year. Just awful. We honestly may not win another game the rest of the way.
49ers? Nope. Rams? Nope. Colts? Nope. Giants? Nope. Eagles? Nope. Cowboys? Nope. 3-13 here we come!

Every complaint about this team is both valid and useless. Nothing will change until Snyder is gone. They'll have the occasional above .500 season when the schedule and the turnovers both break hard in their favor like they did in 2012, but that's the best we can hope for, and it won't happen often.
I love watching BMitch voice our collective frustration as much as anyone, but IMO if you rant about the Redskins and don't mention Snyder's name you're wasting your breath. For any other owner, retaining/promoting a useless jack### like Bruce Allen because of his name and family history instead of his football competence, and letting Morocco Brown slip away in the process would be a low point. For Snyder it the tip of the iceberg. He is the worst owner in American professional sports by far, which is saying something.

Sorry for the loss, guys. The state of the Skins right now shows how all in the RGIII trade was. If they miss on RGIII (which it is looking more and more like they did) then they blew 3 first round draft picks with that trade. While they
might not still be a great team, they would look a lot better with maybe 2 more OLineman and one more defensive lineman from those first round picks. Now if they draft a QB, they don't have a solid line for him to learn behind.
Not trying to rub it in, it just amazes me how that trade has killed the Redskins.

I'm also in agreement with re Griffin's future. I still think he can be a great QB. May not be here, but I still like his chances.

The Redskins are one of the worst teams in the last decade yet they are one of the top 5 more profitable teams in the NFL. So you can't say he is a terrible owner. He is just a terrible owner in what matters: WINNING.

McCoy has a career passer rating of 77.1 with a 59% completion rate, 22 TDs and 21 INTs.. RGIII has a career passer rating of 91.2 with a 63% completion rate, 38 TDs and 20 INTs. And his completion rate is actually higher this season, while his passer rating is down only 3 points (88.0). And he gains rushing yardage.
McCoy is not some unknown quantity that can save the Skins. He's a 28 year old journeyman who has had plenty of chances before and has come up empty nearly every time. He started the season #3 on the depth chart for a crappy team for a reason. Six halfway decent quarters doesn't change that.

he came back because he is better and we made an investment in him. Therefore, we need to do our due dillegence to see if he can run this offense and grow as a passer. you dont do that sitting on the sidelines. We were competing for a championship anyway so there is no downside to having him out there to get that experience. Plus we need to make a decision on his option.
If I was Gruden I would play Super Bob in every single play this season. No matter the score. First of all you do to evaluate for next season the QB but the main reason is to tell Snyder and Bruce Allen "listen you want him to be the starter I am giving you what you want".

He has to keep playing. There's no reason to bench him now. Team needs to find out if he is the future or not. That's the simple truth with this team right now. Going back to McCoy and Cousins does nothing.

Having a LB run deep middle coverage isn't new. Fletcher used to do it a lot. The goal is that a heavy blitz gets in quick enough that the QB can't just stand there and wait for his WR to burn the LB. I think Robinson was supposed to blitz and didn't. Or maybe both Riley and Robinson were supposed to blitz? Idk. Just a big mess. When you have that many problems with "execution", that points to a coaching problem, IMO.

Of course it happens, but it seems we do it more than any other team. Riley shouldn't be covering Mike Evans, period. We do it dumb#### like that to ourselves. "Oh Josh McCown, look here, we have Riley covering Evans, just throw it deep".
The coaching is terrible on this team. Haslett is useless and seems to only care about preparing for the Cowboys. The Bucs are easy to defend, just cover Evans and VJax. They can't run the ball. Yet the one thing the Bucs do well, we let them do it.
Offensively, the play calls aren't much better. I don't if Gruden is still calling plays or McVay or Sherm Smith or whoever, but they suck. Our OL is going to get DESTROYED next week. No Williams, probably no Lavauo. The leftside of the line is going to be Moses and Lerebeius. Good god.
I am going against the grain here. The biggest issue with the Redskins yesterday was the 4 or 5 false start penalties and illegal formation penalty. These are penalties by a team that is just not ready to play. The players are clearly not in the game and they can't win games like that.
And this definitely points back to the head coach. I think there are signs that Gruden has already lost the team. And that is the absolute coach killer. The toughest part is he has a year, $20M contract. Would Snyder really be willing to eat 4 years and $16M of the contract? He hasn't in the past. But putting up with this for another year is unfathomable.

Pretty interesting analysis of a different type of zone read. Is Griffin not able to make the reads that he made two years ago?
For a team that has so much trouble pass blocking, it seems like they should be going out of their way to run the ball more. Having Griffin run the ball opens up the running game and momentarily freezes the pass rushers. That is how Shanahan got so much mileage out of a pretty weak offensive line.

Good point. Griffin made the correct read, Reed was open, Griffin did not throw the ball.
And that is exactly the types of mis-matches the zone read is supposed to create.

His career passer rating is higher than Brett Favre.
Whether RGIII is the future of the team or not depends on how much of his 2013 struggles you attribute to injury and the coaching mess. He was outstanding as a rookie, one of the best rookie QBs the league has ever seen. And before yesterday's debacle he'd been pretty decent in limited time this season too.

Agreed. RG3 hasn't been great since 2012, but he's been far from the problems with this team. Did he play well yesterday? Not at all. But having a defense that allows one WR to have 200yds receiving certainly doesn't help. Having a kicker miss 2 FGs, doesn't help.
Honestly, look at the last 5 games of RG3 and Russell Wilson. Not really a huge difference between the two. One is winning more and the other isn't. That's the only difference.

There are players to watch to see how they play. There are coaches to watch to see how they coach. I enjoy talking about those things and usually try each week to mention some players and coaches who did well or poorly in the most recent game. That's just as much a part of football as whether a team's winning or not.

The guy was signed to be backup QB when Cousins leaves at the end of the year.About Cousins --- does anyone but me think Gruden is telling himself "An interception here, and interception there, he's close, he's only nine plays away from being great!"

Yep. I've been a big Griffin supporter. Yesterday was the first time I really had doubts. It was similar to some of his games last year, only I couldn't defend with his recovery and lack of an offseason. I still think he'll have a really good career. He's 24 and, barring injury of course, should have several years to improve.

I'm with you on all of that. Gruden's the guy who believed Cousins was the answer. He hasn't shown that he knows who to put on the field, that he knows hwo to evaluate players, that he knows how to motivate a team, that he knows how to lead a team, or even that he can run a coaching staff. Every week he trots out and entertains the reporters with "refreshing" talk about what this and that player did wrong. That's his one strong point so far.
He thinks Roy Helu is Giovanni Bernard. He thought Kirk Cousins was Andy Dalton. He thinks Haslett is a good DC. Last week he said the team was a play or tow, here or there, from bein 7-2.
Gruden looks worse and worse as the season progresses. Maybe he'll turn it around but he's in over his head right now, and things have fallen apart.

That's the thing, the dude is only 24. This isn't some guy in his late 20s who is a journeymen QB. This is his 3rd season in the league. He's had 1 great season, 1 mediocore season and this season has been a big incomplete. Yet it seems the fans and media are ready to throw him by the wayside.

You should have seen those who attended yesterday's game. Tickets were cheap, so tons of know-nothings took the opportunity to go. It was nice to see a bunch of kids in attendance, but also a lot of bros who were probably trying to impress their girls with their "knowledge". So annoying.
