so basically people can ridicule the team when its doing bad but we cant retaliate because the team has a high payroll or weve been there before? Wheres the fun in that? Its just a little harmless banter. Dont see the big deal here.let's act like we've been here before, Yankee fans
Playing the "nobody believed in us" card when we have a $250 million payroll seems slightly pathetic

i agree 100% herealso, worth noting that while winning the East and having the best record in baseball are nice accomplishments, they aren't going to mean much if this team flames out iin the playoffs againso basically people can ridicule the team when its doing bad but we cant retaliate because the team has a high payroll or weve been there before? :( Funny Stuff. But we all know "The Game".... While most agree the playoffs, especially a 5 game series, is a crapshoot, this place will be a zoo if the Yankees run into playoff troubles.... I think it's perfectly fair game for people to come here and gloat about a team losing but, I think the point has been proven that 1) Garardi is a pretty good coach and 2) The Front office did as good a job as they could have setting up this team....Now, it's a roll of the dice - Just like when the Yankees won. We'll just get that out of the way now cuz there's no way I'm responding to those chicken#### posters who play that game......We know who they are. I'd personally hate sports that was all I had.Michael Brown is doing good work in here![]()

Hes made a ton of moves that have left me scratching my head (and I think I posted about a few of them when they happened). His work with the bullpen is light years ahead of Torre but everything else Torre did I liked better. And I was not an advocate of firing Torre. Not saying they should fire Girardi or anything. Im just not sold on him being a pretty good manager. Id say hes average to below average until further notice. Looking forward to see how he handles the playoffs.Sheesh... Who did you want? Mattingly? I thought Torre ran his course and frankly he had some AWESOME teams back when the competition wasn't what it is today...
How about Bobby Valentine? Willie????? Looooooooouuuuuuuu?
First off, I wasn't "right". I was just plain old right. No quotes needed. Because I was. And I'm not a chest-thumper who goes around reminding everyone about it. But this was different, because just about EVERYONE ridiculed me for believing in this team back in the early part of the season. Someone called me out in the Yankee Stadium HR thread, so why can't I call people out in this one?And like Shady said, I didn't go back and find quotes from other threads and bring them up here. I just went back to around the April/May/June timeline to find some of the better ones and re-posted them. I wasn't paying attention to who I was quoting or anything, so I don't see how that can be considered stalking. But whatever.Yeah, it takes a real man to bump posts from 7 months ago to show how "right" they are. Hindsight is wonderful isn't it? Hopefully they all went out and partied after the game last night, but somehow I doubt it.Wooderson said:Bring it on.That is of course if the Twins will even be awake for the game.
Here's what you should do. Watch baseball for more than a couple of months, then come back here and let us know if this comment makes any sense at all.Lofl at the Yanks needing every edge to fend off the plucky but Morneau-less Twins.![]()
I can vouch for Funk. I know that he has watched baseball for AT LEAST 6 months. I bet he can name at the very least 5 Twins on the roster at this very moment.Don't be so uptight. It has to suck to be a Yankee fan. When you win, you are suppose to win because you spend 200+ million. When you lose, its always a choke job.Michael Brown said:Here's what you should do. Rumors are she's Prego and they're house shopping.... Is THAT what Arod really wants? This guy is sooo NOT Jeter.Even with a second chance to play the field Arod couldn't do it right.Hey, I used to like Kate Hudson and all but, Arod my man, look at that roster Jeter has been with, there's a whole different way to do this.ARod got a huge monkey off his back last night. Kate Hudson is working wonders![]()

I skimmed certain parts that looked interesting, bit of a long read. Not sure what it has to do with the Yankees though, as it seems more of a commentary on American sports in general but uses Yankee Stadium to make its point.
Yep, it is more about baseball in general and uses the Yankees as the extreme, altho I think Wall Street's influence on the Yankees market is unique compared to the rest of baseball. It used to be cheaper to go to a baseball game instead of the movies, now it's cheaper to take a vacation then to go to a Yankees game.I skimmed certain parts that looked interesting, bit of a long read. OOFGood another post for me to bump in the future.***NEWSFLASH****- Guys go thru extended slumps all the time. Its the nature of baseballI came out and gave him props for turning it around right now. I rode this Teixeria roller coaster for many years. Enjoy the up turn right now. Remember it when he goes into a 3-50 slump come July. He does it every year. How he responds to the media pressure in New York during that time will be very telling.BTW, nice job responding to my quote with my own quote, neither have anything to do with the other.Big Tex with the big potty mouth tonight.Don't worry, he will start hitting when it no longer matters.
I dunno, I mean it's certainly cheaper to go on vacation than sit four people in the primo seats, but I don't know anyone who has those. All I know is, my seats were $25 apiece at the old stadium in Section 3 (upper deck behind home plate). Now they're $25 apiece at the new place in Section 420A (upper deck behind home plate, exact same section angle as the old place but I'm about 5 rows or so closer to the field).Alias said:Yep, it is more about baseball in general and uses the Yankees as the extreme, altho I think Wall Street's influence on the Yankees market is unique compared to the rest of baseball. Give him some credit. The man has resurrected his career. And he pwned the Yankees this year in Cleveland. I wanted to dismiss him too. I bet every Yankees fan did. We hate him for the travesty he was in pinstripes. But the man has remade himself into a quality #3 starter. He did go toe-to-toe with Petitte. Then it came down to the bullpens....where our advantage was enormous.it was really hard to be concerned last night with Pavano on the hill. He looked good early, but he was going to implode at some point. I mean, its Carl Pavano

I just knew that he wouldnt beat the Yanks. Its not like the Yankees deserve a break or anything, but i'm pretty sure the baseball gods wouldnt let that happenTLEF316 said:it was really hard to be concerned last night with Pavano on the hill. Even when he came back late last year and made a few starts for the Yankees he was decent.
BTW its time to put Hughes back in the rotation. Yanks are being stupid at this point. Aceves back to the pen.
Yep, it's amazing how going back and quoting other people makes you just feel so much smarter than everyone else. Some interesting #s
Id really like to hear how someone can justify putting Hughes back in the rotation and Joba back to the bullpen?Chamberlain (starter): 30 starts, 8-3, 3.52 ERA, 8.9 K/9 IP, 5.40 IP per start.Hughes (starter): 28 starts, 8-9, 5.22 ERA, 7.9 K/9 IP, 5.04 IP per startChamberlain (reliever): 49 appearances, 3-2, 1.53 ERA, 11.9 K/9 IPHughes (reliever): 15 appearance, 1-0, 0.84 ERA, 11.4 K/ 9 IP
Wow talk about misquoting someone. I was arguing with yankee23fan cuz he said hughes should be in the rotation and chamberlain should be in the bullpen. Big difference IMO from Yankee fans discussing Lineup and rotation opinions Vs Calling out the Flame throwers who like to spew their latest Yankee shtick around here.If some fan decided, for some reason to spend their time posting shtick about the Angels all year, I'm sure the fans in that thread would call that guy out as well.....jobarules said:Wow talk about misquoting someone.
