***OFFICIALISH*** Seahawks vs Packers Divisional Round Game Thread (1 Viewer)

:o Can't wait to see what McCarthy does in the first couple drives, whether its a lot of spread out of the gate, or some 2 TE stuff with a lot of motion, or line up and pound with Grant and Hall. I honestly have no idea, but it's nice to think about how versatile this team can be, all of a sudden. That said, I'm still worried. Should be a good one.
Id like to see some 4 wide. Also hope they are practicing on some screens and can try to take advantage of Seattle if they get agressive and blitz alot early.Or a nice QB draw to start off with.
As a Seattle fan I would LOVE it is GB came out pounding the ball. That will not work against Seattle. What I am a little worried about is if they spread them out and run draw plays out of 4 wide. I would also love to see a few QB draws. Let Tatupu, Hill, or Peterson get a clear shot on Favre and that will be trouble.

I was thinking the same thing when the previous poster said he wanted to see 4 wide against us. Sure go ahead and spread us out, but be ready when Barnett or Hawk get a clear shot at Hass. Throwing 4-5 wides out there is nice, but obviously it greatly weakens your pass pro and puts your QB in a quandry should there be a blitz..

And with Hass' sore thigh after that hit last week, one good hit on that thigh in the cold weather, and he'll be hurting the rest of the game.

Do the seahawks even have 4 receivers left?

Favre has a natural ability to know how to take a hit. It's on the rare occasions that he doesn't see (or feel) a hit coming that he's been dinged up. Don't forget that his MO has always been to get pumped up and play better after a big hit. It seems to take the pressure off him.Grant ran for 100+ vs Minnesota's run def. I think they'll be ok vs Seattle.

I think Seahawks fans may be alittle disallutioned with their team. 3 key facts regarding the Seahawks this year

1.) They have only played 4 teams all year with winning records (they are 2-2 in those games)

2.) The Seahawks have faced backup qb's for the entire second half of the season ( St. Louis' Gus Frerotte (came in when Marc Bulger was hurt in the first quarter), Philadelphia's A.J. Feeley, Arizona's Kurt Warner, Carolina's Matt Moore, Baltimore's Troy Smith, Atlanta's Chris Redman and Washington's Todd Collins.) They aren't going to have that when they play Green Bay.

3.)Seattle has been very good at getting pressure this year ranking 4th in the NFL in sacks with 45, but 21 of those came in 5 games vs. the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers. In addition to that, they ranked 4th in the NFL in ints, 12 of those came in the same 5 games vs. the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers. In the games in which they actually played teams with good offenses (Eagles, Browns, Saints, Steelers, Bengals), they collected a total of 6 sacks and 7 picks.

Yes this is the playoffs and teams do leave everything out on the field but this Seahawks team has been far from a dominating force this year.

Yeah but they looked good against what I thought was a solid Redskin team. I know they were banged up on the O line a bit and hopefully we can protect Brett. This game will be tough and could go either way by a FG. Who knows maybe we'll see OT again. I was there for the Harris pick and will be there again hoping for something similar.

Didn't you (or someone else maybe) post this exact same list before the Washington game? The comparasins to the weak teams seems very familiar. Regardless, there was a week of posts like this, (blah blah weak schedule, blah blah) before last Saturday and they amounted to bumpkis during the game. Not all of us get to play powerhouses like the 07 Bears, Vikings and Lions every year.

I thought I recognized this post from awhile back to, but then thought maybe I was losing my mind which is quite possible. Pretty sure is was him that posted it too.

I posted a few of these points after the Wash game. That game was much closer than the final score indicated and Todd Collins, while he was playing well for a stretch, is a career backup for a reason.

This was on page one and already addressed. I guess Seahawk fans are just more disillusioned (disallutioned) since the last time he posted this and we responded. I like the consistency though. :blackdot:
GB has been having o-line "issues" all season. Colledge and Coston have split time in some games but Coston has been injured pretty much all season. If Spitz can't go that would be a problem but I think he will start and if that is the case the Packers will pretty much have their starting o-line intact. I think the Packers are going to use alot of 3 step drops and continue to use the short passing game to counteract the Seattle pass rush. Favre has only been sacked 15 times this year, and thrown 15 picks that is less than one a game on both counts. Seattle has been very good at getting pressure this year ranking 4th in the NFL in sacks with 45, but 21 of those came in 5 games vs. the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers. In addition to that, they ranked 4th in the NFL in ints, 12 of those came in the same 5 games vs. the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers. If Collins, Bigby, and their nickel back of the week play well the Packers should win this game.

wow how did this thread get way down on page two? Well this is my last post until Sunday. I'll be up early in the morning and on my way to Lambeau. This is going to be a fantastic game and I hope I'm not driving all the way home after a loss! Enjoy the game everyone and GO PACK :excited:

31-21 GB pulls it out...close most of the game...GB gets the late score to cover.

No matter what the outcome...I will be back to post (maybe not right away...the wife could go into labor any minute...hopefully not until after the game though... )

GAME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My official prediction: The Pack will play their "bend but don't break" defense today, allowing Seattle to kick 4 FG but the Pack pulls this one out......

Pack 23

Hawks 19

GO PACK!!!!!!!!

I think in order to make this fair, Seattle should only play with 8 men on the field. I mean, I'd hate to embarrass them. We're not completely without feeling here.

If Farve can keep to under 8 interceptions, you might have a chance of losing by less than 20.

Ideally, Tatupu, Peterson, and Hill won't even need to summon lightening bolts from the heavens for the 'hawks to win this game. I don't want to end Favre's career, just his season.

Seattle 27

GB 24

The Seattle defense is the difference. The TRUE DPOTY is going to have another monster game off the edge this afternoon.

Great game by the Pack. Favre, Grant and Jennings are going to get some well deserved credit for their efforts, but that game was won by the OL and the D. The Seahawks front 7 is very, very good and this GB OL swamped them and completely took them out of the game. Makes me think this Ol is very very good. Grant had holes you could drive through and Facre had time to wait for someone to break free from what was pretty good coverage most of the game. And with his Favre touch he put it in where his guy had a shot, despite the coverage. Some poor tackling, especially on the potential sacks, a dropped INT, a few slips by CBs and the vicious and vile return of the dropsies for the Seahawks receivers made this a good ol whipping. I can't stand it, but that's what it was. Seahawks could've made it a game, but let it slip (literally) through their fingers. If there's any team I feel "ok"* about losing to, it's a team with Favre being Favre (as long as KoRo had nothing to do with it). That's a very good GB team and should romp either of the two teams they might play next week if they play like they did today.

* ok is a very relative term. It in no way implies anything good, just less vomitous.

Oline dominated. Grant did not get down and stepped up big time. I guess the Packer running game is that much better huh?

Favre played well...even the one near INT was on the money to the WR.

Only concern was not bringing any pressure at all.

Other than that...a near perfect game plan by McCarthy.

Wow what an experience. The scene was surreal. It was like we were in a snow globe and they shoot it up as the snow was just gorgeous. As far as the game I was ready to jump off the roof of Lambeau after Grant'w two fumbles, but he clearly atoned for them. The Packer O line simply dominated. Kearney was a non factor as Tausch is rock solid and I'm sorry I ever doubted him. Brett is Brett. What else can you say? I don't know if he'll come back next year or not, but it's been one helluva ride if he doesn't. I was amazed were were able to run the ball like that against that defense. Game balls to the whole O line. Hopefully the Giants can take care of business today so we get another one at Lambeau.
