Seriously dude, it's obvious you're just fishing for attention. If it was only about rankings and FF then you should just say "I really like Orton this week, I think he'll put up Top 10 numbers against Seattle."But you don't stop there. You start rambling about how you're jealous of people with college degrees who make $40k a year. THAT's hilarious.

Silly 40K "experts" with journalim/communication degrees trying to step into my FF world...get another hobby...and some basic analytical skills while you're at it.
497 yards and 3 TDs. Can someone explain basic analytical skills to me like I attended a LAC10 college?

If he starts another thread like this, he should be banned.

"look at me, look at me......make a fool of myself again"

LHUCKS, do we get to hear your incredibly amazing process now that you've been proven correct?

Or perhaps you're jut throwing #### at the wall and hoping it sticks with absolutely no reasoning behind the entire post in spite of requests to the contrary?

People are missing the boat on the really major uselessness angle of this post. It's that without projections, the comparison is 100% relative. The only thing success or failure in this prognostication means is where Orton finishes the week relative to Matt Schaub. This is useless to people who own Orton as a member of a committee, because since it allows for the possibility that Schaub will crap the bed entirely, it says nothing about the value of Orton this week relative to other likely members of a QB committee. This is useless to people who own Orton AND Schaub, in the first place because there aren't very many of them to begin with, and in the second place, because whether you believe the OP or not, nobody is benching Matt Schaub for Kyle Orton this early in the season. This is useless to people hoping to find a little bit of insight or discussion about what kinds of production are likely from both DEN and HOU offenses, since no attempt is made to quantify. The only person such a post is even remotely useful to is the OP, and even then, only so he can yell, "I found a nut! I found a nut!"Something like the MOP or Otis posts have some spine, and some substance. Almost doesn't matter if they turn out well or not, since they actually offer something measurable. This is just empty, pointless, and self-serving. Far better suited to one of the other forums.
This is a great post. You see, LHUCKS doesn't get it. Never has. Threads like this actually make him feel good about himself. And, the actual reason he doesn't critique the FBG's pre-season rankings anymore is that he has bombed worse than Matt Leinart the last few attempts. For those who don't know, back in the day (about 5 years ago) LHUCKS made a name for himself around here when he nailed several pre-season player predictions. The following year his pre-season ranking thread was much anticipated. He BOMBED but, predictably, didn't admit to it.So, in an effort to redeem himself he then changed the methodology of his critique so that he didn't have to stick his neck out so far. His predictions/critique contained far less substance and were not dissimilar to the useless rhetoric you see in this thread. The problem was, he still bombed. So, now he has retreated out of the picture under the ruse that he is being otherwise punished by the staff for taking shots at their predictions, which is obviously untrue.LHUCKS is a an iTrainwreck that has been going on for years.
I don't agree with LHUCKS schtick, nor his prognostications. But, at least he has balls enough to make predictions. There are a bunch of you who only use this forum to flame people, but lack the cajones to take a stand on any player. Man up - if you're going to criticize, be willing to lay it on the line. You mean LHUCKS was wrong about players? Gee, I guess that makes him horrible. Why do we even use this site, given that LHUCKS the previous year shows how bad the FBGs are at prognosticating. I guess they are all awful too.Idiots.
1. No need to make predictions when you can just fade hucks.2. There's nothing impressive about making bad prognostications 80% of the time. What would be impressive is recognizing your not in the same league as $40k a year J schoolers and not wasting bandwidth.

:popcorn:I guess you didn't get what I was trying to say. "Balls to make predictions"? Yeah, that is admirable. Mind you, I should remember that this harsh criticism is coming from another poster who regularly crashes and burns and, like LHUCKS, can never admit it.

Seriously, you think that everyone should post their predictions? The Shark Pool would be littered with prediction threads if everyone decided to start a thread about who they predict will get more points than another. Thank God not everyone on this board have such a sense of self importance like LHUCKS, and they have the sense not to start "look at me" threads like him. Keep being his cheerleader though, switz. I think you need to re-evaluate exactly who the idiot(s) is/are.

Orton brings solid production every week but schauberific is hot one week and the other week it was all foster running all over the place. I support Orton and his family-first playing style and this thread was not too far off from being corret so the hateoraid drinkers should be the ones feeling bad because a bold prediction puts the poster 1 up.

I've been seeing way too much of this type of posting lately. People that didn't post any predictions before the event but can't believe how obvious it was that it would turn out that way.

For those concerned about Hucks, don't worry. He's over in the FFA addressing his losing day of NFL picks.

but yea...lhucks... it would be nice in the future if, when posting outlying opinions, you could post at least SOME analysis.
I think you missed the SOME analysis...

Orton had a pretty good game. Schaub was phenomenal though.
Schaub looked great. So I missed on a bold call...isn't the first time and wont be the last.If I hit 50 percent of these that's actually a phenomenal rate, but I wouldn't expect a lot of the haters to understand that...so I'll go ahead and let them make fools of themselves.

You are picking between two players. A monkey throwing darts can get 50%.

Ummm, no. Reading is fundamental.

You're proud of comparing your predicting skills to the odds of a coin flip? I don't think you have haters. I think you have people who are amused at the lengths you'll go to to be entertained now that the window on the Cardinals has officially closed.Pay attention, Vikings fans. This could be your future.

Sorry no, missing 50% on 'bold' calls which is just predicting that players with tough matchups will be outperformed by players with easier matchups but lower ADPs is not impressive. I'm not a hater, just speaking the truth.

the credit goes to those who make the predictions, not the women who stand around on the sidelines comparing panties and handbags and not making any bold calls right or wrong, because whether right or wrong the bold predictor will at least never be included with the timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat. Just something t o think about while you watch your opposition take it to the bank!

Dude, you didn't just miss, you had the best FF performanace of the week on the bench. You should name these threads the "idiotic call of the week". The reason the 40k j-school guys don't make calls like this is because they actually like receiving a paycheck.

wow, quite a few not grasping a rather simple concept.

Seriously, enough with the weekly "BOLD CALLS" threads. If you're right... who cares?

If you're wrong... who cares?
A) Nobody forced you into the thread...shoo off, all you bring is negativityB) Several people have stated they're interested...so "somebody" does care
The "several people" are all alias:e:s who enjoy seeing you get humiliated. Just so you know.

The Vegas books get rich by attemtping to never make a call.

Oh boy....I don't think somebody understands.
I can read. Here is what you are doing:1. Call out, in a juvenile way, all the experts who project Schaub to have more FF points than Orton as not being able to think outside the box. 2. For the whole week, continue to flame away. Call people sheep and generally act like a tool.3. When you're wrong about the call, pretend you weren't selling it as a "lock" and instead make it seem like you are calling long shots.

How is this useful prediction in the first place? How many teams have Orton and Schaub on the roster? Am I missing something?

I still haven't figured out why some of you guys continue to acknowledge this guy. He makes awful picks. He just wants attention and when he is wrong he tries to make fun of other people. Saying they can't figure out simple concepts.

Just read his posts and take the other side and you are golden 80%+ of the time.

Now we're getting somewhere...the point of this exercise is to point out how terrible most "expert" rankings are. It'll be interesting to see if we can draw some conclusions by year's end. There is always a method to my madness. :)

The method to your madness is to show what a complete and utter tool you are.
I think he's already given up on the NFL season and is falling back on his Internet message board infamy. It's nothing for us to throw a little change in his cup and give him the attention he needs.

This exercise has zero utility in drawing any conclusions about the merits of expert predictions. But, that isn't really what you are doing, and everyone knows it.
