I will have to work on my technique.  Whenever I smoke chicken I think I do it a bit to low and though the meat comes out wonderful the skin is rubbery rather than crisp, and with wings, well they are half skin.
Air fryer, grilled, smoked, or baked wings really arent bad for you as long as you arent slathering it in ranch/blue cheese.  I dont know what kind of smoker you have, but I crack mine at the end to raise the heat and crisp the skin.  Or, you can finish on a hot grill.

 
Not to meddle as a disinterested third party,* but isn't BassNBrew the guy that dropped like 60 pounds quickly and I wound up having to pay money to? 

*Okay I'm somewhat interested as I don't want you to have more motivation. 

 
I'm gonna need a height on B&B again.  If he's like 5' and my weight, my disadvantage here would be tremendous.   As tremendous as him.

I use a cheap electric smoker and finish my wings for a few minutes in the oven at 425.   That gets them crispy.  You shouldn't have ranch or blue cheese dressing in the house.  

 
WTF.    I thought you were this big better.  I'm willing to bet you $200 and all this time I think you're not taking me up on it b/c you're only interesting in much higher stakes.

Not a dressing guy myself.  I do not understand polluting perfectly good wings with that stuff.

I do try to finish the wings, or the breasts when I smoke them on a higher heat to crisp up the skin but once the fat is rendered it just does not seem to want to crisp up the same.  I have tried getting it crispy to start and then going low to smoke them and it sort of works, but not quite.  I will try a little hotter finish.

 
For all you fat guys struggling to lose weight like I am, I highly recommend Tessamae’s Mild or Hot Buffalo Sauce.  If you have the fortitude to make crispy wings the way DW describes above (I may try this), or even if you’re just too lazy, grab some celery stalks.  Pair it with your finest Bud Select 55, and you’ll forget how fit and handsome you are on a Sunday afternoon. 

 
Honestly guys, I have this in the bag this time.  Sorry.  I basically have already lost the first 20lbs, and I’m deciding how best to lose the next 10.

Yesterday was 1425 calories, no Bud Selects.

Hit the gym for 45 minutes of weight work and stretching following by a 9 mile jog in 90 degrees.  Have to work late today so today will likely be an off day and will give some ground back to Otis.

Why so complicated?  Let’s just say 20lbs by January 1.  I haven’t been 218 in years...
B/c the hard part is keeping the weight off ace.    Anyone can go on a crash die for a couple of months to drop a bunch of weight.      And a weekly weigh in is fine for me.

A 9 mile run.  Impressive.

How are you prepping the wings?  When just grilling, I've found the prep makes all the difference in the skin.

First time I've been sub-250 in at least 5 years. Need to start ramping up the exercise.

So we doing this or not slim?   Since your goal should be to actually keep the weight off, I'd think that a bet like this would suit you.

 
Against you? I may as well just outright donate. Last time we did this you just demoralized me.

I think you need to stay out of the way though. Unlike BlOtis you have a chance. I think you have a flawed approach, but your mind is at least in the right place. And he will demoralize you. When BnB is focused on a goal no one can compete with him. And like you said it'd only have a negative effect on you. Keep doing what you're doing and focus on the weekends...and not BnB.

Congrats, This is my favorite thing. I have had to punch 2 new holes in my fat boy belt, so far! When I started, at my heaviest, i was on the 2nd to last notch out at the other end. I can measure gains in inches off my waist!

I think you need to stay out of the way though. Unlike BlOtis you have a chance. I think you have a flawed approach, but your mind is at least in the right place. And he will demoralize you. When BnB is focused on a goal no one can compete with him. And like you said it'd only have a negative effect on you. Keep doing what you're doing and focus on the weekends...and not BnB.
i think we all need to remember this is probably 50% shtick for Otis

Otis has a chance.  I really think he is going to stay focused and give me a strong run for the money this time.

I'm aware. I tried hard against him last time but he was on another level.

I started at the second to the front notch on a 42" belt and am now on the second to front on a 40" belt. Need to slim myself back to 36"
