They don’t have them at most places. I’ve only seen them at the local beer distributor, not regular supermarkets. Are Bud Select 55s a regional thing? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one in a store or restaurant.

Yeah, that's weird and I'd be mad at the wife. She needs to run that by you first. Some updates.
First and most importantly, Woz sent me this pic. It made me happier than it should have.
Second, went off the rails slightly last night due to some visitors and a drinking session. I was otherwise having a great day--lunch out with the family, but I ordered a keto salad and sparkling water. Felt great. Drank a couple Select 55s. But then when company got here, things went a little sideways (more on this in a moment). Was mostly good, but drank a lot and, after they left, I figured we're going on vacation today anyway for a couple days, so I'll roll off Keto for that. Ate some of our girls' breaded chicken tenders for dinner because we had nothing else and it was late. Poured a single glass of red wine--honestly didn't care for it, didn't finish it. That's a win right there. At a few Oreos, and even those didn't really do it for me. Tasted kind of like chemicals to me? And also had a bag of the smart puffs I used to crush on the couch. Tasted like crumbled up envelopes. All in all, I had some junk food, and didn't much like any of it. So even though it was an off the rails evening, it was actually pretty great.
Speaking of the evening, it was super weird. My wife has remained close online with my ex girlfriend from college. She's funny and smart and attractive and so Mrs. O and she always had kind of girl crushes on each other. Mrs. O tells me the ex and her family are coming over for the afternoon for a couple drinks. I was annoyed and moped about it--I have so little free time and don't want to spend it with crazy exes from a former life and their husbands. Anyway, everyone got completely bombed and it was fun, and the ex draping herself on Mrs. O was sort of hot, right up until the ex made things really awkward by repeatedly talking about how her mom kept saying she should have married Otis, and joking about how Otis has a nice big house and she could have lived in a big house, etc. etc. It was the kind of thing that could have been a funny throwaway comment if she made it once, but she kept at it for like an hour. She comes and is sitting in my lap at one point in the midst of all the awkward comments. She's telling me we should buy her the house next door because "you owe me." (I don't know if this is because I dumped her 20 years ago, or because I was "her first," or what the hell else she could have been referring to). I kept trying to change the subject and defuse but she was bombed. Just really awkward in front of her husband. It got so bad her 10 year old picked up on it and made a comment like "but then I wouldn't have been born." Just weird and uncomfortable all around. So yeah, I'm chalking last night up to "weird night" and moving on.
Vacation starts today. Not going to go crazy, not very much drinking or junk food, but going to eat good, real food at a couple of our favorite restaurants (including pasta at the italian place) and just not worry about it. Back on Keto Tuesday, and looking for a next fasting opportunity this week.
switch to bud 55's same thing. Also, 14 hours since I've ingested a single calorie. Plan is to go another 26 hours and make it to lunch tomorrow. Stomach currently growling at me and I'm going on a lack of sleep because of a two year old. Trying to drink a bunch of water and coffee.
Pic of candy bowl (with paralegal in shot) or it didn't happen.2 coffee cakes and a big bowl of caramels in the break room and a big dish of candy corn on our receptionist desk. Also the attractive young paralegal we just hired has a huge bowl of candy bars on her desk she offers to any who enter her office.
I have avoided all those temptations.
Looking forward to lunch. Mixed greens and grilled salmon.
Horny old men surreptitiously photographing young women is probably an actionable offense at my work place. Also if my wife were to find such a photo on my phone she would snatch me bald. All in all too high risk a maneuver for me.Pic of candy bowl (with paralegal in shot) or it didn't happen.![]()
Pretty sure that if you explain that you just wanted a picture of the candy, they would understand.Horny old men surreptitiously photographing young women is probably an actionable offense at my work place. I don't know. I remember the trouble Homer Simpson got into through a merry mix up when all he wanted was a gummy De Milo. Misunderstandings can happen.Pretty sure that if you explain that you just wanted a picture of the candy, they would understand.
This is why I'll never consider anything > 16/8.Currently a little light-headed...
So was the Jerry Maguire kid in his estimation of the weight of a human head. Say, can you weigh yours now, when you are light headed and weigh it again later when you are just regular headed?Currently a little light-headed...
If you don't eat for long enough, maybe you'll have one of those vision quests.Currently a little light-headed...
With your workouts it would be tough anyway. I’m continuing to pay attention tot the benefits/research and since I’m not a BMF I just scale back my working out when I do a couple of days. This is why I'll never consider anything > 16/8.
You cant convince me this 44 hour thing is optimal to 16/8 + exercise. No food guys: do I still lift weights tonight? Headache is pretty strong and I'm feeling a bit nauseous.
Is it bad if I just do a 24 hour fast this time.![]()
I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything. You cant convince me this 44 hour thing is optimal to 16/8 + exercise.
I'm saying you should skip the workout and eat something. Trying to exercise on no fueling is counter productive. Then next time don't 44 hour fast.I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything.![]()
I think they accomplish different things. To kind of address your post and Fred’s at the same time, I refer back to my toolbelt analogy. For optimal weight/health/fitness I think having multiple tools is the someone’s best bet for achieving short term and long term goals. Very few people have the discipline to do the exercise you do and also have the discipline to do really healthy eating all the time. I think mixing things up and allowing for setbacks (cheats) works best for most people. You cant convince me this 44 hour thing is optimal to 16/8 + exercise.
There isnt one.I'm not a doctor but i thought the goal was to tear your muscles, then give them protein so they can come back stronger. What's the point of tearing them and not giving them any fuel to grow back?
Hopefully it wasn’t my post causing confusion around fasting and exercise - I had two different things going on and was just pleased I could do my daily challenge while fasting.bostonfred said:I'm not a doctor but i thought the goal was to tear your muscles, then give them protein so they can come back stronger. This is where I think the 16/8 stuff works. My appetite is down and it's only 2-3 hours of hunger pains to endure - not many times per week. My outlook would be miles different if those hunger pains hit, I looked at the clock, and saw (gulp) 28 more hours.Zow said:Made it almost twenty four hours.
Had a few pieces of pork loin and some green beans. What’s interesting is that I feel full.
When the mountains on the can turn blue, you're due to weigh yourself.Gotta let these weights normalize. I don’t put much stock into every day weigh-ins. That’s JV stuff.
Good grief. This isn't that difficult. Both of you have enough excess weight that dropping 20 pounds should be easy. just eat and drink less.I wish I could give you #### but I haven't weighed myself lately either.
I've forgotten...how many days are you doing this?Day 13:
I leave for a 4 day backpacking trip Thursday so I’m going to scale back my squats this week to make sure my knees are as good as they can be for the trip and hikes.
- 21,194 steps
- 150 push-ups
- 100 squats
- 125 abs (0 Spider-man plank crunches; 25 leg lifts; 50 crunches; 15 mountain climbers; 35 teasers)
- Stretching - NOPE
- 100 oz of water - CHECK
Plan is to stick to my challenge up to the week before Thanksgiving and then see where things are.I've forgotten...how many days are you doing this?
Wow. Impressive.Plan is to stick to my challenge up to the week before Thanksgiving and then see where things are.
